Sounds like you're going to have to become a little more clever, smarter, adaptable than the other FC. EVE and skillsets are not cookie-cutter. Sure there's common builds for ranged snipers, ewar ships, neut-domi's etc.
Who knows, maybe we'll have the ability now with T3 to cut and turn faster on the left than we can on the right, which makes some interesting pilot tactical flying now instead of point and click.
Perhaps we'll have a myriad of ships and capabilities to explore, demolish, blow up and of course salvage. Who cares what a ship 'looks' like. Afterall, the domi/typhoon is a big boat capable of almost 1100dps in the hands of a highly skilled pilot. They also have the ability to be one of the best tanking ships if set for that role. I can't tell which is which by LOOKING at it until I start shooting it.
People are already flying ewar drakes because people know they have a hard tank at times to break, so they choose that ability to utilize other modules.
The end of CCP isn't near. The end of your FC'ing would appear to be however. |

Lets see what happens, a bit of uncertainty and revolution at times is a good thing. However, certain combos (if allowed) would be a whole lot better than others; ECM bonused droneboats would be kinda over the top.

If you're too clueless, here's how it would do it without having a clue about the implementation.
- Include a type of ship in EFT called a 'custom' ship if these ships don't have some sort of racial "base" ship. If they do, just include the 4 racial base ships.
- Include a new slot category only for those/that ship type, call it "lego bits" and give it 5 slots.
- Each slot, much like implant slots, has a limited list of what can be added there. Apply bonuses as necessary.

I'm bored, so i'll play the on the loser's side for once.
Thinking about it, T3 will just stretch the "limits" that CCP put on the gameplay (every sandbox has it's limits, be it a glass of sand or the ****ing sahara desert, you still have boundaries). Think of a T3 drake-like ship. Do you really want to see a BC tanking a whole Level 5 Mission? Do you want to see Thousand people with the same setup for all the missions, forever and ever?
or, excluding the PVE aspect of the game, would you like to see a ship that can outdamage you, no matter what?
seriously, even with precautions, CCP cannot avoid the "limits" setups of T3 that may arise in the future.
They should really foresee what's gonna happen, before making it happen.

I think customisable hulls is a good idea, but here's the crux: It's a good idea for a brand new game that doesn't already have a firmly established and entrenched system of using fixed base hulls.
So... Great for a new game (or as an entire game engine re-work), but as a patchwork on top of existing Eve, I don't see it working.
Plus as another poster suggested, the price of these T3 ships is most likely going to be too exorbitant to warrant people actually using them for regular PvP.

because of unfair nature of T2 i can't make any profit through invention.
The stocks exceed the demand very often, while the production isn't very mobile, requires heavy investments and has time vs income limitations.
T2 items which come from BPOs are ultimately better, i find many good below build costs with invented quality ME -4, PE -4.
Even in brand new field, the tech 2 rigs devs decided to nerf my income with COMOS site BPCs, which magically have 2-5 runs and ME 0 PE 0 or better. Now my tech 2 rig costs 150 mill to make, 10 mill to invent, and COSMOS site rig only costs 90 mill to make.
As an inventor I invest 2-3 days and 160 mill to make a tech 2 rig and realise that the market is unstable at 165 mill... 5 mill profit for me and 75 mill for COSMOS bpc owner.
Why does eve have to be like this?
And what are the plans for tech 3? Make it uneven again? |

From the snippets we know, T3 looks to be more EVE-like than the current ships.
T1 ships feel like the tried and true ships that have been in use for 100s of years, retrofitted for capsuleer use.
T2 delves into the underlying pod tech and other limited jovian technologies available to create specialized subsystems which had never been considered before with traditional ship crew structure.
T3 looks to approach ship design and construction from the viewpoint of a capsuleer. A completely role-based approach, to fit with the agile and singular captain-as-ship nature of the elite pilot age.
Also the OP fits 1 of the two characteristics of a troll. That's a troll in my book.
