Heavies can't hit frigs, even webbed, unless the frigs using an mwd, in which case.
Huge sig radius + not going anywhere = wtfpwnd

I think i preferred the earlier, more radical drone changes that were planned. Just shows you thjat if enuff BS pilots winge about their heavy drones vs frigs then TomB listens.

why not just make sure tracking disruptors work on drones as well as ships?

If you have 8 drones attacking you what is target disrupting one of them going to do.....or are you going to fill a scorp with 8 of them ________________________________________________________

Originally by: Jarjar I tried webbing a regular NPC frigate (8-12k bounty?), at 1km range my 8 wasps hit him pretty much... once, in 2 minutes. Are NPCs not tweaked or are the drones this bad?
The drones are orbiting to fast, the thing that needs is that the drones reactivate their MWD when they go home to daddyÖ that way we could most likely slower their orbiting velocity a little bit.
BTW: i got pwned in a stiletto vs. 10 praetors without getting stasised, if you check the starting post you can see varying tracking speeds, wasp has the second worst 1

I like these changes as well... but the only thing that bugged me was that the explosive drones were the fastest. I know is a rather small thing, but I was wondering what the reason for this was. ATM to me it seems that the EM drones should be fastest, cause the shield is the first thing that has to be penetrated, and having the first drone to get there being the type of drone that does least damage to the shield (unless the ship is tanked out) doesnt seem to make much sense. Why not have the EM drone get there first so it can start to pick at the shields? The idea of heavies hitting frigs also bothers me a little too, but until I can test how well they can hit em I cant complain. But overall good job TomB

What are the relative agility stats for the drones now? Are wasps still really agile and quick responding while ogres are stupid?

Webbing NPC-s DO NOT WORK!!!
If you can not webbi an NPC Frig... medium and heavy drones will be useless against NPC interceptors... the light ones simply do not enought damage to kill a NPC interceptor...
Plz tweek the NPC's...

Yeah.
Nos/Neutralizers don't work against frigate NPc's so they may need some looking at, TomB.

Yes, you can drain the frigs but their MWDs won't stop

maybe not but they havent been exactly speeding away - they are still slowed just like if i were to web a PC Frig with a mwd

I think Josh's comment relates to TomB saying that things such as Heavy Nos are effective anti-frig measures for BS - it's true, but only for player controlled frigs, not NPCs.

Edited by: Hawk Firestorm on 27/07/2004 11:10:55 Again perhaps a simple method is dmg reduction, just saying for the sake of simplisity and gameplay that they some of their dmg is negated due to the agility of their target etc.
Also means any complex delivery methods and well ya know wht I think of those. heh
Also there's the danger that at the moment drones are about the main anti-frigate defence for a larger ship, be very careful your not creating a immune class of vessel here. :)
I kinda go down the route that frigates should take dmg from all wep systems but perhaps in a reduced manner so that there's absolutely no possibility of them becomming immune, but also giving them greater durability.
