[121] Edited by: Phoenixgurl on 02/08/2004 16:42:43 I played as Phoenixgurl TE on pegalag. It was a very very pleasant experience, for my first MMORPG. E&B is superior to Eve on many points: -User support. Im sorry CCP, but your user support do su**. Seriously, 3-7 days for answer while E&B was 2-3 hours. Even minutes when stuck. CCP really need to make up on this. -Newbie friendly. Yes, god damn initial training DID show you up howto play the game. When I started Eve, it was bugged, and accidently closed the training window (couldnt see, wanted to minimize) ... never was able to put it back.. plus anyway it was bugged. It ain't friendly. In E&B, you talked to npcs and they did tell you some kind of story, in Eve, it tells you always that "the damsels are in distress".. -A freaking storyline! Yes, E&B had a story line that affected the game, in Eve you have practicly nothing! Dah!! We dont want just corp action, we want stuff to do that dev invented us! Eve is cool on one point tho: --PVP!! Really something that makes this game spicy. Why I left E&B? Too many griefers, Kill Stealers and in Pegalag we had real big problems with A99 a guild that was KS every event.. and the GMs didn't do anything against it. PG -------------------------- When the universe collapses and dies, there will be 3 survivors: Tyr Anasazi, the coc*roaches ... and Dylan Hunt trying to save the coc*roaches. --Tyr (Andromeda) |

Well In MMORPGs, realism sometimes equals boredom to many. -In Earth & Beyond, when fighting, you encountered unique space life forms and unique space ships. When mining, you watched rocks (with awesome crystals of different colors sticking out of them) crumble under your prospecting beam. - In EvE, of the other hand, you, when fighting, watch your modules flash, and when mining you watch your ore numbers grow. :( To each their own I suppose. -------------- ![]() |

[133] Hmmm does no one from Orion read these forums? I played EnB. Very different game than this, but I still loved it. Sorry to have seen it canned. Orion's Explorer channel still exists in Eve, under "Explorers." Oh, Oneman/Onefist/Onemedic were my chars. And Oneman on the ol' edportal forums. |

[145] I played EnB since beta and came over when they said it was to be tanked. Having played Eve I think it is a better game and I love the fact the Devs actually speak to the community. I do plan to go back the last week for a fish bowl raid though : 0 |

[148] The problem is with EA. EA had the respect of gamers as one of the "BEST" preprogrammed games for nintendo, sega, and any other stand alone game system. They tried breaking into the PC and online market with various games and unfortunately one of the only ones they had that lasted was "the sims" if you enjoy playing with dolls.......sims is the electronic version. "SUPER DOOPER"......more like "****er scooper" EA played on our desires as "gamers" for orpg. They filled that requirement at the time barely but have prooved unloyal to the people that got them where they were reputation wise. EA released a game called Motor City Online before EnB. Online car racing.........you say oh NASCAR. No it was racing all american made hot rod from the late 30's to the late 70's. talking hemi cuda, chargers, formulas, 43 coups, classic caddies, tbird, vettes, cobras, mustangs gallor and various models. Not to mention had real named card mods that you can install in game like hooker headers and various named coponents. said and done you could change up to 2000 parts on each car........set ups were endless. and it was a couple nascar style ovals but mostly road coarses. dirt track/ dirt roads/ street/ spillways/ city scapes, city alleys/ country roads/ jumps/ bumps/ smash em up/ racing.........all with about 60 different american muscle cars to choose from. well after 2 years they scrapped it with a hugh player base to allow them to release "sims europe" Then they release EnB shortly there after......although I vowed never to play anything EA ever again cuz of pulling the plug on MCO, i have to admit EnB looked promising BUT........they pulled the plug once.....they'll do it twice, and they did. What we as orpg gamers desire and need.........is a game that is ongoing. we want to spend the time, we are going to spend the time. we all want uber character but need a game that commits itself to US the gamer before we can commit to it for those years to come. EA has repeatedly pulled the plug on two very good games thus taking our money and efforts and just flushing them down the drain and we have no say so in it. Personally it disgusts me that they treated us(the gamer community) so disrespectfully. They do not have a clue what orpg gamers desire and need. We as gamers dictate the market........I say do your part and NEVER buy an EA game for any game system, PC or stand alone. Don't even so much as drop a token into an arcade game that flags the EA symbol. They have no right to introduce ORPG for a year or more and pull the plug. If this is what they are shooting for then EVE'ntually they will seal their own fate. Instead of allowing EA to pull the plug on you, pull the plug on EA. Thank you CCP to commiting to us with a projected storyline, projected ship base, constantly updating and fixing, and most importantly .......implementing new and varied stages of gameplay through your projected storyline to force us to "think" "adapt" "adjust" to help keep the game feeling new and exciting. Also thanks for keeping in touch with "us" the player community and implementing things we desired ingame. All the things that EA rarely, if ever, did. |
