First of all, a big congratulations to the people of Iceland and CCP for their new
Gay Prime Minister. First in the world. YAY! 
While only one of the 12 "races" in EVE is Black, it nonetheless afford representation to the fine people of Africa and African descent everywhere. The addition of Asians in the game should also be applaud.
So here is the next question in the quest to diversity: people of different sexual orientations in the world of EVE. |

How about we keep hot-button issues out of a video game so I can relax and have a few minutes of fun without politics/religion/sex issues everywhere. Video game. Not serious business. FFS. |

What would be the point of having that in character info? It would not affect any attribute, let alone gameplay, or even the character portraits. Stick it in the bio if you must.  |

Why are people intent on bringing this kind of RL baggage to an internet spaceship game? Its make believe folks.
And more to the point when in the flying blue f**k does sexual orientation come into play in EVE anyway? Its not on gate camps, they could care less whom you choose to bed with. It's not during market transactions as there is no filter to buy from either hetero or homo sellers.
You cant even see other people or yourself for that matter. Its all spaceships! |

Another group of people I realize that are here in large numbers are furries but goonswarm keeps jihading them, Im surpised they havent gotten to me yet. |

Why do you congratulate Island for having a prime minister with something that has been considered a mental illness for hundreds or thousands of years ?
It's not like Iceland will gain something from his gayness, I'd rather congratulate if the prime Minister had some characteristics and attributes that are useful for the office.

I just wanted to inform you that I do not care that a prime minister is gay.
I honestly wish people would stop trying to have their race/sex/orientation represented in stuff. It gets tiresome listing to all these attention *****s. |

Not trying to derail the topic, but homosexuality was removed from the global mental illness list in 1973. So the first part of your post loses its relevance. I do agree with the second part, though. People should pay attention to his politics, not his sexuality.
As for EVE, I don't see the need for there to be character sexuality as a checkbox or whatever. If you want to play as a gay character, then RP it yourself, and stick it in your bio if you want.

Actually there is a race that is obviously gay looking. Gallente males.
You have to try really hard during character creation for your character not to look gay and I have personally seen very few non-gay looking gallente males. That is also why Intakis are so popular as they at least look masculine.
There is also a Minmattar bloodline that if you work with the portrait you can get pretty gay looking avatars.
So if you want to roleplay a feminine male character there are choices. For the lesbian crowd there is an abundance of choices.
