Point is, it could have been any corp and any alliance. It could have been the newest of new corp or alliance. And it would still not be theirs to claim. The only one that can claim 'victory' is the ex-BoB director. It was his doing and his alone.
This is the core of the issue. Anyone who believes the Goons really had anything to do with this other then being around when it happened or being the receiving corp of the disgruntled ex-BoB director are living in Goon Fanfare delusion.
Take off the Goonie Goggles and try thinking for yourselves, it's unpleasant at first but it has it's rewards.
It doesnt matter how, it doesnt matter who, BoB is dead, and thats reason enough to celebrate.
That, I'll take. That, makes sense. Finally.

He became a goon before he was even found out to be a BoB director.
That's a lot of text to tell me I'm right. But heck, I'll take it.
I bolded the important parts.
Aye, I've read that. He became a goon before he was even found out to be a BoB director. He was disgruntled with BoB, joined the Goons and blew up his own house on the way out.
You know when the Goons could have actually claimed this ? When the director would have been a Goon BEFORE he joined BoB. Infiltrated BoB, became director and then flushed BoB. Then you could have claimed it.
Now... it's just a disgruntled ex-employee with the keys to the detonator. No victory there mate, however you'd like spin it.
I think it counts that he chose to stay stay with the Goons.
Perfectly able to claim at least 50%+/- of the win.

Yes, I, too, after 1.800 replies and over 300.000 views, realized that this whole story is largely uninteresting.

Translated that means:"I know we can't claim it, but we'll do it anyway" How many times do you have to say in the mirror:"Me no stuppid, me no stuppid" until you believe it yourself ? Goons can't claim a damn thing. They needed a BoB to bring down BoB. Pure and simple. Goons just stood bye, eating popcorn and chips, enjoying the mayhem Now if you will simply own up to that, I'll even understand.

No, BOB held a strong hold for way too long. Change in a game is good, lack of change is boring.
If CCP pulls a T21 and cheats, then this game will be pointless and stupid.
When a traitor stole my alliance, CCP didnt save me, I created a new alliance and moved on, the second alliance turned out to be better than the last and the game stayed fun.
BOB will continue in some way Im sure, they are resilient and I wish them the best of luck.

Delighted with the forum drama. Definitely the best in the last 6 months.
However a real anticlimax to the war as a whole, and a shame that Goons chose to pull the plug on the war rather than fight it.
I'd have done the same thing in their shoes, if I'm being honest. But from the Goon perspective they should have done it when they were winning the pew-pew, rather than when they were on the back foot and losing space.

The point you keep missing is that the BoB was no longer a BoB, he was a Goon.
Mittani claims a little credit as he did forwarn that the butte-donge revolution was coming.

Wow.... you really are thick, aren't you ? I would be on about this just as much if it had happened to you and BoB claimed the victory. I don't feel this nor that for either BoB or the Goons. I simply disagree with the manner it was done and the fact that it was claimed by a party who had nothing to do with it, other than that it was simply there at the time.
And you can keep digging at the fact that we could be pets, my English, or the fact that you hope to **** me off. Because honestly... that's all you have.
You all know and everybody else knows, it could just as easily have been another corp/alliance.

I guess this shoots the conspiracy theory of BoB having all the tech 3 materials and ships and stuff already in the foot bigtime. That farce was getting old anyways.
Change is good. The goons kill macroers which is good. Now the goons just get to focus more on those efforts.
Sucks to be BoB but congrats Goons!

The game was steadily progressing to a "Bob vs. Goons" situation. Besides the pillaging and craziness in the North, that's what the game would've ended up being by late summer in any estimation. The Goons may celebrate a victory, whether they had a hand in it or not, because their biggest rival/enemy/competition has been eliminated.

You seem to miss that I know he defected. I know he did. And Mittani did far more than claim 'some' involvement and you know it. If you don't, I can slap you around the ears with that MP3 that's out there.
And I'll say it again: The only way that the Goons could have claimed any ownership of this, is if the person would have been a Goon to start with, which he wasn't. Then proceeded to infiltrate BoB, which he didn't and finaly flushed it when he reached the status of director, which isn't the case.
He got ****ed off with BoB, most likely very understandable, I wouldn't know and committed treason, which is fair enough. People may dance on the grave and celebrate BoB's demise, I don't care.
But it's not for the Goons to claim. Period. |
