No, I think that this part here is where we have divergent opinions, and given the other responses in this thread, it isn't a feeling echoed by 'everybody else'. |

The game was steadily progressing to a "Bob vs. Goons" situation. Besides the pillaging and craziness in the North, that's what the game would've ended up being by late summer in any estimation. The Goons may celebrate a victory, whether they had a hand in it or not, because their biggest rival/enemy/competition has been eliminated.
That makes sense and I'll not dispute that. Heck, I understand it perfectly well ! But have them say/admit to that fact and you'll not have an argument out of me. |

And I'll say it again: The only way that the Goons could have claimed any ownership of this, is if the person would have been a Goon to start with, which he wasn't. Then proceeded to infiltrate BoB, which he didn't and finaly flushed it when he reached the status of director, which isn't the case.
He got ****ed off with BoB, most likely very understandable, I wouldn't know and committed treason, which is fair enough. People may dance on the grave and celebrate BoB's demise, I don't care.
But it's not for the Goons to claim. Period.
The defector conspired with GIA, who suggested the course of action he eventually took, left to his own devices he'd probably offline a few towers, steal what ever is in the hangar he's docked at and be kicked like all his predecessors.
Though I'm sure ex-BoB members are far more interested in your dedication to pedantic detail than I ever will be

I also hear Goons likes to brag about how uber awesome they are because of this.
But the fact is that the person who is really awesome here is Haargoth Agamar who went so far and dispanded BoB and gave all of the accesses / rights to the Goon spies.
No matter what Goons did do to get Haargoth Agamar to dispand BoB and give the accesses, Haargoth Agamar is the man who actually DID the damage.

No, BOB held a strong hold for way too long. Change in a game is good, lack of change is boring.
If CCP pulls a T21 and cheats, then this game will be pointless and stupid.
When a traitor stole my alliance, CCP didnt save me, I created a new alliance and moved on, the second alliance turned out to be better than the last and the game stayed fun.
BOB will continue in some way Im sure, they are resilient and I wish them the best of luck.
Well ending their strong hold by just stealing an alliance name is anticlimactic. A long drawn out siege would have been nice. I can understand the spying and corp theft in this game but it doesn't make sense to be able to take an alliance name and drop their sov. Its just not a game mechanic that makes sense, that's all.

Why did the BoB director defect? Because being in BoB stopped being as cool as it used to be.
Why did BoB stop being cool? Because they recruited a bunch of useless tools and got all hurf-blurf with one another.
Why did BoB recruit a bunch of useless tools and got all hurf-blurf with one another? Because they needed massive numbers to counter all their enemies.
Why did they need massive numbers to counter all their enemies? Because the RSF and our northern allies were beating them down.
That's why we claim some credit for this. The terrifying old BoB became the pathetic Disband of Brothers because they couldn't find a satisfactory counter to Butte-Dong Thought. |

I would argue that it has everything to do with fact. Goons have long held that we don't play the same EVE Online that the rest of EVE plays. The fact that we held our 'culture' as the defining difference between ourselves and other entities (like BoB) would lend credence to the fact that we were able to turn a BoB director based on our culture alone who then went along with a GIA plan to disband their alliance. |

He chose, you turned nothing. That you were far more appealing to him than any other corp, even BoB, I'll give you that. That you feel that your alliance and/or culture is thereby more superior to BoB's, I'll take that too... Honestly, I couldn't care less. I would care more about the neighbourhood supermarket getting a different owner and I don't give a rats ass about that. Fanatical Aggression made a great post to this point just a little ways back. If left to his own devices he would have probably done a quick smash and grab or been a long term asset feeding us information from BoB director level channels.
The plan to terminate the alliance was presented by Mittani and executed through the GIA. Ultimately, he's the one that pushed the button, but the devil's in the design. |

Oh I see that. Defintely. Though none of this would have come to pass without the disgruntled ex-BoB'er. In this time, you would not have had the might to break BoB on your own. You needed a BoB'er to do it for you. And he presented himself to you and the keys to the kingdom, on a silver platter. You weren't stupid enough to pass on the opertunity as it presented itself to you. But that's all the claim you can stake.
