Even with sensor boosters though, with 8 midslots they would need a good amount I would think but even if it gave ya a 10km advantage they wouldn't be able to do anything really other than fof I suppose.

Looking at the activation cost of ECM multi's compared to sensor dampeners its 120 versus 30. Thats a huge difference. The way I figure it using racial jammers is a big gamble unless you already know what you'll be jamming which most of the times ...

I'll have to test the medium guns on it but they point was really to get under these rat hunters weapons. Most of em are fighting rats from range so I would get in close and nos and fire away plus if I did see someone in a frig or a couple in frig...
