for ATI I wouldn't install the 9.11 drivers, they have issues with AF not applying at all, no AA you can live with, blurry textures as far as you can see starting a foot away from you is BAD, and this is with forcing or inside games. Tried the bet...

Encountered this bug as well, somewhat hard to reproduce from warping around, I'll get to places in fd- where I can't even get the sun to reappear, maybe they are doing a more dramatic scaling thing, but its not properly in yet. That or just a bug...
