Some time ago something ****ty happend to me, its basecly my own fault, but I have a belief that concord overreacted as well.
I was doing agentmissions for a LVL3 agent (security) and as you all know LVL3 is a bit hard to do by yourself, especially when you are not so experienced with PvP. So I asked friend if he could help me. Togetter we formed a gang and we did some missions togetter. As some point I had to clean up my bureau for a minute because it was such a mess, we both waited at a planet. While cleaning my bureau I accidently pressed F1 (just where I had a smartbomb fitted ) and I splashdamaged my gangpartner. At that time I tought it was OK, since he was in my gang. So I continiue to clean up my bureau when all the sudden several concord BSs/cruisers and frigates warp on me and start destroying my ship. (I always stayed within empire space for the missions, so no insurance was needed because it was "safe") Concord destroyed my armageddon, leaving me with approx 70-80M isk in losses.
I asked the GM's to help me 2 times now, but they say its my own fault. They say that CONCORD is programmed to act like this and there is nothing they will do about it.
Gm quote removed. Please do not quote gms verbatim on the forums - Orestes
Im not going to say anything myself about this "incident" or rather "legal massacre", but I would like to know if there are any people out there who have the same problem and if they know some solutions for this. If we can come up with good solutions and alot of people feel the same way, maybe CCP will design concord diffrently in shiva or another patch.
So lets hear it people, name your incident with concord and give some solutions to fix this!
(no flaming, keep it nice and positif reactions only plz.)

this is precisly why i put my smartbombs (when using them) and missiles in my highest hi-slots. The F3 and above are less likely to be accidently be set off... especially if i am alt-F1ing my afterburners.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

wow... gang members cant hit each other? i always assumed they could. wonder if they could make smartbombs "smart" and miss/not effect gang/corpmates... you send them data that allows them to adjust there shields to completely deflect the wave .. might be good seeing that smartbombs cause so many problems in empire.
and that quote should be ok, since its explaining game mechanics.

Afaik hitting gang members was classified as hostile act because people were asking people to join gang and then gank them without any interferance from CONCORD. Imo if you join someone¦s gang then you are automatically saying that you trust him and telling CONCORD not to interfere but that¦s only my view. __________ Capacitor research |

CCP aint into being fair..
Just like corp thiefs..
The thiefs get all the benefits from the game, and are allowed to ruin the game play in a matter of mins for many other players..
While us that get hurt just get told to .... off... In a nice way ofcourse. ------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

Heh, I'm a green n00b in the Eve universe, but I have a little story, and a moral to it!
I was playing for a couple of days, bought myself a shiny new frigate and kitted it out for mining. I was mining with a friend who was also a green player and to make a few bucks we decided to mine some Veld in a 1.0 system (as n00bs often do obviously).
To save a little time from running back and forth to a station to deposit a hold full of ore, I jetisoned a can and we both started loading that up 'til another friend could come and haul for us.
Things were going along swimingly, then out of the blue some dude flys past and all of a sudden theres a bookmark in my can saying "you have been slurped" and the contents of ore less than it was...
I laughed the first time and said to my friend "we just got ripped off by some turd!" and continued on my merry mining way. Then he came back for another grab, and this time I got annoyed.
The third time he came back to steal our ore, I targeted him and fired! I had taken 2/3rds of his hitpoints when CONCORD absolutely pummeled my poor little frigate into so much space dust...
I was quite upset when I warped back to the station, bought another ship, fitted it out, left and was consequently demolished by CONCORD once again... It was then (well actually after doing some reading and learning) that I discovered that this was a case of art imitating life.
Trust no one, and keep your sidearm handy. Even in empire space.
They build. I fight. You pray. |

To help CCP I will ones more share my idea that I have posted many times..
When you attack a person, the attacked person should have a window pop up, in a place where it would not be in the way, that would allow that person to tell Concord: Dont attack the player that attacked me, it was just an error..
It could be expanded so CONCORD jumps in and scrambles and jams the attacker for 20-30 secs first, so the attack maybe could say sorry.. and the attacked could then act apon that..
Anyway.. Its been put up many times, but CCP just dont care. Instead they go around now changing things out of the blue, for no good reasons, or at all telling us first so we can reply to it. ------------- Most tired of thing atm: - Mods on the forum saying: "Please use the bug report page to submit bugs, the forum is not the place to post them." and then closing a topic. |

Well I never knew they changed the concord response for attacking a gang member, if they have then it's a pretty stupid change imho. If the problem is people spamming gang requests and ganking, sort that out... prevention being better than cure and all that.
The other thing this goes to show is that Concord really should've been programmed with enough intelligence to react according to the crime, instead of having a one setting terminate mode.

it'd be cool that, if you were in a gang with somone, and you get hit by a gang member not in your corp, a box pops up asking if you want to call Concord for assistance. a simple yes / no would help matters.

Thank EVE's early griefers & "pirates" for todays insta-ganking Concord.
There was a time when Concord weren't so unrealistic when it came to punishing such minor offences... but as usual players used it to their advantage and exploited it by killing 1-week old newbs in starter systems.
Concord should only get involved if a players ship comes under sustained attack or recives significant damage/is destroyed... the odd smart bomb mis-fire or stray missile/torp etc shouldn't result in the loss of a 90m ISK ship imho.
Maybe some sort of fine would be more appropriate.
