I know for a fackt that the improvements made on the patch made a bigg diff in empire wars, like the 10v10 battles.. havent been in a big battle (40/60 ships) after the patch yet so cant say enything about those...
but empire has been improved so ..

As long as CCP continue to work on improving the situation, we must all be happy. That is the most we can ask for, really.

In Castor you can get 65 fps by closing all movable windows. Opening a few of them will put you back to 30 fps. And it has nothing to do with Eve GFX settings cince it doesnt matter if you use 6x anti aliasing and 16x ansitropic filtering or no anti aliasing/filtering. The result is the same so it has to be the client software. My guess is with the Shiva client it's adressed.
And as to the server side even with Shiva those issues will cause lag and needs to be fixed. If before the SQL server upgrade things worked better it just proves it can be fixed anyway.
But about the LAG issues. We have them NOW and we are simply told to wait till Shiva arrives soon(tm)? You at least can lie about it and tell us you're working hard as possible to fix those issues now. Just an idea. ___________________________ Favorite bumpersticker of the month: My head hurts! |

Well Oveur isn't losing any ships (which is a minor point) and he's not experiencing battle lag hell (which is a major point) where you warp in and then find yourself being activated in a station somewhere (well I haven't but I've lost ships without activating a module!).
So Oveur.. we're kinda waiting on edge here for the 31st August patch.. and it better fix it

Anything that speeds up client start time would be great, as there appears to be huge inconsistencies when starting up.

My 2 cents :
I personnaly found out that the 3D rendering does not seem to be the problem, but the more windows are opened, the worst performances are...
Say I have cargo opened, chat, scanner, gang and drones windows opened, then I lag like hell. When most of them are closed, then it's "almost" all fine (not in huge battle like we had in TPAR-G last week).
Couldn't a small fix on this happen before Shiva, because it's true it ruins some part of the game that is very immersive : fleets !
On a side note : where is the window to see the current FPS ? The old shortcut does not work anymore for me :( |

Thanks for the shortcut.
And damn, I'm at around 10FPS only, even with a PIV 1.7 and Radeon 9800 Pro.
