Hey, nothing's perfect. Overall I'm very happy with the expansion so far, although I did comment on the fitting screen in the appropriate thread lol. TBH, the only real issue I've had so far was the patch process itself -- absolutely horrid. Thank God I have a fast connection, since between the 'temporary problem downloading' and the corrupted installer files on the manual download, I ended up downloading the patch about 4 times before I got it done. Once I did manage to d/l successfully though, the install iself went without a hitch; in fact it was all done installing by the time I got home from the market after leaving the download running when we went out. Very smooth, basically jsut what I have come to expect from CCP. I do agree with a previous post that the skill queue feature would indeed be better if it had a longer scope. I currently have mostly long skills to train, a 24-hour queue doesn't really help me at all. Nice idea though, WONDERFUL for noobs trying to cope with the learning curve All in all an excellent job m8s, now if we can jsut get those few issues fixed it'll be bloody near perfect!

Great work on the Patch CCP, Went wel, (save for the slow DL speed, but thats a local issue...) good work on the graphical updatesm the roids and weapon effects loook good, and the boosters look great. took a couple jumps to load but after that the new gate jumps lok clean aswell. GOOOOOOOODDDDDDD WOOOORRRR***!!!! Thanks for supplying awsome content btw, the WHing will provide a whole (pun intended) new mediam to the PvP/PvE aspect, should be interesting to see the new WH fittings... only issue was DL size, i steal my interwebz from the neighbor so its a little slow (about 54mb/s witch made the patch a little long to take (about 10 hours) but other than that, good work!! the little bugs and stuff will all get worked, to all who are complaining, you code this sh!t, and design this sh!t, and install this sh!t and see what you get on your home server... stop your b!tching! give it some time, when has CCP ever let us down really! this isn WoW....

like the skill que. like the new fitting tool. like astroid overhaul. dont like that my classic graphic's have being taken away.
*SERIOUS ISSUE. you cant download the full client anymore, (yes im aware you can make a copy of it while it installs beofre it deletes itself, i saw people having trouble patching and opted for new client install instead) In the past when eve screwed up or was to buggy i could simply add/remove and reinstall, now its being remotely installed so i have no option but to download the entire client again if i need ot reinstall, please provide link to dl full client atleast.
*ISSUE. low shader graphics are causeing warp bubbles and pos shielding not to display correctly
minor annoyances. - * sound effects were fine .. why did you guys mess with it?, please just change it back with the next content update. * cyno jumping effect looks **** (sorry no other word for it), cap ship flash bloby mirror globe, thats it.. old style looked way beter.. *bolts of swirly lightning. * sensor booster looks like i have my armor repper running, small very fait green pulses..
as a 2004 char, id have to say its not the greatest patch, but atleast you didnt delete the boot.ini on this one, that was funny..
Will try feedback any more serious issue to the bug team, youve some work ahead of you guys and girls. Look forward to the fixes that will come in the days ahead.

Fix this now. I play with sound because im not pretending to be hardcore by turning it off. I play all games with sound, im a soundoholic and sound means just as much as visuals to me.
Also:
Flickering white orbs in asteroid fields. As seen below.. Anyone else got that? Tried two different drivers, 181.00 and the very latest from nvidia (non-beta). I think this is the same bug as on SISI that was tied into Blooom, but really, fix plz, cant even mine or rat like this since it causes crashes occationally (at least it did on SISI) :)

i also have no sound and i get no explosion gfx and i cant hear anything but music other than that it looks nice

Have problems since the removal of the classic graphics pack.
My machine always had problem running the premium graphics and that is why i liked the classic. I've tweaked the setting to reduce the quality of the graphics to try and improve the performance, but now seeing problems when gate jumping where after i jump just get the ouline of my ship.
Apart from that everything else seems ok.

Game is running ****ty now. I run it in full screen mode on windows xp and I often window key out to my desktop. Every time I do it I have to go thru a long process of whatever sound I was hearing at the time repeat over and over, for example if someone was speaking as I did it, whatever sound they made the moment I windowed to my desktop will repeat like a broken record over and over until the system catches back up to itself, the computer is also frozen during this time.
Crashing in eve is a lot more frequent now too.
windows xp, 3gb ram, 510mb nvidea graphix card, 3.0ghz, dual core.

I noticed that too.
On another note, it appears the logserver was either not behaving or is broken, since it was very sketchy about logging anything, and also didn't come up with any errors when the client crashed....weird. ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

I am trying to post a bug report to http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=post&channelID=3512 as instructed by CCP Navigator's initial post in the Apochrypha Issues List.
The message that I get is that I am trying to post to a locked channel.
My earlier post on this exact same problem (page 1, #5)

Okay so not cool on one big major issue which I have sent in a bug report but should advise everyone else of this. Patch and all went through just fine, loaded up just fine, played around in station for a while things were looking good. Then I tried to undock and go fly around and thats when the crap storm came upon me. My ship is now undocked in space, and my screen is blacked out with only an information bar telling me checking navigation systems. Thats it, it wont do anything else, I cant hear anything else, but I can still see people logging on and off. I have a second character and was able to log in using him and undocked with him and everything is fine, but it was a test character no training or anything like that. CCP is my ship gets blown up and I loose my slave implants because of a major bug issue, I would hope that you will return everything back to the way it was before this happened. Hopefully soon we will get this fixed and I can go find those wormholes.

Apart from yesterdays dl/patching issues which gladly have been resolved this morning im truly impressed. still, several small glitches but these are minor and to be fixed within the next weeks in upcoming minor patches.
What i like most isnt the impressive gfx or wormholes, its the ability not to crash when running multiple windowed clients on a multi-core/multi-gpu machine. was pita before and made me regret owning such a monster machine. keep on ccp! waiting for wos ;)

Yeah I'm having a major issue in that since down loading the patch I seem to be having lag or loading issues first it started with my ship not doing anything in game, so I quit out and try to log back in but the game just seems to stop loading after I have selected my character.

To all thoes complaining about the sounds during battle not being what it used to be. Seriously?!?!? There is no sound in space people, be happy you can hear anything at all
On a side note. My Raven does sound like Im on a shuttle flight from L.A. to Vegas. Not what I imagine a spaceship to sound like but I can live with it. The biggest problem I experienced was hitting the F1-F6 keys did not always work to fire my weapon module. And a few times my target painter would not start and when I clicked it again I recieved a message saying it was already running.
All in all I say CCP did an outstanding job.

Why did you guys get raid of classic???
1)What em i supposed to do now get raid of 1 or 2 accounts?, or buy a new laptop, cant you put it back? even with the new graphs at lowest i still have problems. Its nice and all don't get mi wrong though but think you can get classic back?
2)Now with the WH and easyer scanning would it be possible to have some kind of jammer that prohibites from vinding you or anything near the jammer?, with an exception that you have a 50/50 chance of vinding it with all skill that interact with jamming to the lvl of lvl5? like in the form a mobile warpdisruptor??
Thx's

Thanks CCP for this great expansion
However I'm not too pleased with some of the new graphics and actually : - the jump gate effect - the cap jump effect - the warp effect
All of these have some kind of water effect in it which doesn't sound right. CCP was once renown for having the prettiest graphics around, this was the case because the effects were just in the right place and at the right level.
These new graphics are just too much, too "cartoon", they are just not EVE ...
warp effect would be all right without these water superimposed effects .. In my opinion, the "smoke effect" is sufficient.
jump effect should really, really be changed ... They are actually completely incoherent with the stargate roles ... You should perhaps think as something more like "Mass Effect" stargate effect
cap jump effect are way too much on the cartoon side ... Why not just make a nice but right in place "battlestar galactica" jump effect ? That would be very impressive and awesome !!

OK ... so after making me jump through hoops for the last 24hrs to DL stuff, I'll add my endorsement to just about everything people have mentioned here:
- Sound: What kind of system was this tested on? Even after screwing around with the settings for quite a while I still can't hear the stuff I want to hear. *Hearing* the message that your warping would be especially nice since you can't really tell anymore visually that you're doing it would be especially helpful.
- Fitting Screen: Come on... this is a joke right? We're all going to laugh about it: 'Hahaha - that was a good one!' and you're going to give us back something that's actually useable and meaningful right? Right guys??...
- Asset window seems to be having lots of behavior problems.
- Overview window: *sigh* Whoever designs/maintains this thing should be chained to a chair and forced to use that thing 23 hours a day and tell me it's 'good enough/working as desired'. Why does removing an asteroid from a combat tab ( where it's not really needed IMO ) also remove it from the Mining tab ( where it's kinda the point of the whole exercise ). As one of the main interfaces to getting around in Eve, I would expect the Overview to be just a little, I don't know: usable maybe...
While you'll probably get glowing press reviews for getting an expansion out the door on time: it's too bad it's basically Alpha quality. Maybe Beta. And I don't think I'm paying to be a Beta Tester, QA Tester or Bug catcher. This isn't a 'polished product' IMO and CCP really should have done better. the Faction Wars roll out was leaps and bounds above this in both quality and execution...

2nd I want to congratulate on going too far as always before and messing up things that were working fine to beging with. SOUND and LAGG and many other effects, and not even Eve Gods know how many new bugs. Please dont go too far and get caarried away in the future.
And PLEASE FIX THE SOUND. I just cannot belive how lame the game is withouit SOUND effects as before.

this! new scanner width is BAD, its way too wide, plase give us ability to make it NARROW
and other things i dont like: - autopilot having problems with autopiloting, it likes to stop by itself somewher in the middle of destination, annoying - new effects: well... maybe theyr nice, but part of them are useless to me, cant recognize what is my opponent doing, effects are hard to see from distance, as someone mentioned, sensor booster looks like repper, i can barely see if guy is webbed... and so on... - as you already know, new queue makes skills to detrain - lol?
thats the issues that bugs me, rest: seems good job ccp ______________________________

Here's some feedback: your GM support as of late is nothing short of abysmal. I petitioned to get my character out of a stuck system (a non-hub system, no less), and the GM said "sorry, we're working on it, but we can't move you." On top of that, graphic glitches, system stability (really, it seems like you're running the servers on a graphing calculator at this point), playability is a joke, patch compatibility (or should I say, "corruptability").... the list really does go on.
Protip: don't make patch date deadlines for releasing what is basically amounting to obviously be alpha-stage content. Or if you are, make sure your support staff (which you bothered to make a devblog about no less!) are able to handle issues in a non-idiot manner. I've seen better support from a chimpanzee with an extra chromosome wearing a week-old diaper.
Don't like this feedback? What can I say, you've earned it.

Update went fine...
First of all, russian translation still needs polishing... Some phrases are very funny and have no sense at all... Translators were from Germany?.. Russian font have to be indistinguishable from english one... Just add some antialiasing to it and make it 1 pixel smaller...
I will continue to use english interface, it's much more understandable... Thanks... I'll try to catch more bugs this weekend...

I had no issues with the download, except for the prior release which I accidentally downloaded for lack of info. The Apocrypha took 1 hour 35 mins to download started around 6:30 pm EST USA. So, I believe I am lucky for having such great ISP. I like the new graphics enhancements and improvements so far. There is just need IMHO, of some adjustment, like the stargates' jumping effect on the ship part, which is great but I find it oversized. The warp fx was more appealing in Quantum Rise both sound and graphics wise. Now, the sound fx part.. well, let me just say the EVE gaming experience became half immersive as the sound fx don't reach you as before and most became whispers easily mufflered by any cheap cooling fan. My advice for anyone who dares to attempt implementing warfare sound fx is go to a fireworks show specially for the guns part, which is where I expected no improvement at all but a real overhaul. The lasers sound fx could also be re-done. I would imagine more a machine humming when charging for shooting the laser and sort of capacitor discharge when the laser is actually fired: stop thinking about the laser itself travelling through space. The laser impact is ok. The targeting sound could be a bit more elaborated, introducing the guns and turrets mechanisms as they adjust for aiming. Blasters and guns sounds should be feed by the weapons description, on which you see that there are stages or phases happening on every shot.. try to compose the sound fx based on that. Express each sound effect in a wider timeline and perhaps we will finally fall in love again as we did when we heard the first torpedoes. Think a bit harder about 500 ton being pushed 100m/s through space when designing the thrusters sound. Love the fitting tool and itÆs new abilities!, the skill queue has a bitto problemito but itÆs a question of debugging. IÆve had no chance of getting into the game itself (checking the wormholes, etc.) these are just firsthand impressions.
