I know its completly Random on when u get a bpo from ur agent, but i was just wondering how long it took some of you guys to get your first BPO?
ive been researching for about 2 1\2 months now. know i gota long way to go, since im getting about 3.72 rp a day lol ive about 300 reasearch points.

I actually got my first BPO at 300rp of laser physics. That was after only a few weeks of research. The next one took 10 months and 10,000rp of quantum physics. I'm still waiting for my 3rd one.
If you're only getting 3.72rp/day, you must be doing something wrong  |

what field is it in? what level is the agent? what Effective Quality... definitely aughta be able to get better than that

what field is it in? what level is the agent? what Effective Quality... definitely aughta be able to get better than that

yeah when i started researching i didnt really know what i was doing so i used the closest agent to me,
agent is pretty crap a lvl 1 agent, i was told not to change agents cus id lose all the research points ive got so far :/
im researching Electromagnetic Physics with an agent in Inaro
-8 i think its crap lol

change, that one is so low that it would only take a week or 2 to surpass.
Get connections upto level 4, this will inable you to use level 2 agents without agent running (you just need to do 1 mission for the corp for the bonsus to kick in, so you find a crappy level 1, do one mission and your set)
other things include the level of skill your agent has, your level of skill, and Neogation raises RP by about 5% per level
I have 30,000 RP in starship engineering, and several thousand in others, I had 1 bpo, given to me after just 19 days of research, less than 300 points as i hadn;t raised the skill beyond level 2 at the time

I have over 330,000 research points between 5 agents in caldari starship engineering, and thats on just one of my research chars, i have 4 chars doing research in all, i've never had a bpo.

WOW, 330k research points and no bp yet. And they say the lottery work so well too (ready to choke on those words). Sorry but there's something wrong even if they won't admit it and I've petitioned about it. Because regardless of the so called LUCK factor in it being a lottery. There is something wrong when someone with 330k research points hasn't gotten anything and there's others running around having gotten 4 or more already.

The lottery system in EVE is not very balanced. Like in RL some characters are lucky, others are not. I count to the second group of people, sadly. I have 3 research projects running, paid about 50M ISK for skills and so on, the output is equal to zero. Even my 120k SkillPoint hauler-alt has more use for the corp than the researcher. Maybe I will learn AMARR INDUSTRIAL skill so that I can feel more useful ...

Reading this just convinced me to never, ever do a research character. For every one guy I've heard say "I just got my second Tech II BPO!!!" I've heard 100 more say "I've been research for 2 months and never gotten anything..."
The research system obviously sucks and they need to fix it. I say: Each RP should count as 1 chance to win the lottery. Once a person wins the lottery, his/her RPs should go to zero. Either that, or after so many RP people should get something, good, bad or otherwise.
But this system is whacked. Only people who got a Tech II BPO and became billionaires overnight like this system.

Still, noone has admitted to multiple tech II bpo's in a while so maybe they have quietly rectified it.
