* We have our own place names, rather than stealing others and putting æNewÆ in front of them.
* Greenwich mean time, the basis of the worldÆs time, is situated in Britain.
* We have a better national anthem, America sing about a flag, we use the power of song to ensure the QueenÆs safety through divine intervention.
* We can pronounce simple words like æaluminiumÆ.
* We had a glorious empire, whereas America is still trying to acquire one.
* We have a cooler accent.
* Americans have their oh so old great monuments, most of which my house is older than.
* America as it is wouldnÆt even exist if it werenÆt for Britain.
* Britain has a æGreatÆ in front of itÆs name, America doesnÆt.
* The Full English Breakfast.
Also UK has pubs in walking distance in most places. US you have to drive to one!
Better cars
Better TV shows
NHS
oh and the Queen.
*waves British flag in US mahahaha*
We all know thats gods english anyway.
Why else do you think we dont have earthquakes and other disasters :D
you dont crap on your own doorstep ^-^

My bad for forgetting a comma between the words 'to' and 'past' in responce to the previous poasters opinion of flag burning. I guess I get lazy sometimes and forget not all the people who read have good comprehension skills and can mentally add in missig things like letters or connectiong words and punctuation.

As a Brit what annoys me most is the dire, miserable architecture. The German luftwaffe came nowhere close to town planners when it came to ruining urban landscapes in the 1960's. Our shopping centres look cheap and tacky. 90% of the houses follow a few standard designs.
My favourite part of USA is the east coat. New York is a great city. I didnt really like Calafornia. Most stuff i came across was new, not much old textures. San Francisco was to much like a tourist trap. Like Stratford in the UK is.
Napolean was right when he called the UK a nation of shop keepers. The elite here have a disdain for technology that annoys me. I am fed up about reading about Marks & Spencers and not about the innovative capability we have for engineering. We are just useless at homegrown modern large scale industry. Yet most of the worlds motorsport teams are based in the UK. Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes. ~Saint |

See the Aussies did it *right* - they drink cups of tea, are loyal to Her Maj, play Rugby Union and are a good laugh to go drinking with.

I do chuckle when they talk about an "ancient" house thats 100 years old, then here my mates house is 100 years old and the church down the road is 500 years old.

Websters American Dictionary describes Aluminium as a British varient of Aluminum. The fact that the spelling 'Aluminium' preceeds Aluminum by 118 years obviously means nothing. Its only called Aluminum because of a spelling error by a man called Charles Hall who wanted to promote his own method of metal extraction. The word Aluminum was officially adopted in 1926 by the Americans -- the rest of the world calls it Aluminium though. But I ask ... does it really matter?

Yeah those stupid ignorant Americans. How dare they call a building in their relatively new country old while some church in England is 500 years old. I mean, COME ON.

ITT: Brits on a chav rampage due to a massive inferiority complex. I mean really. All it takes to drive you guys into an emopatriotic rage is a harmless e-peen pic and a few mild comments.
All too easy.
BTW just a fyi. I am from 100% british stock though I was born in the states. Immigrant ancestors ftw.

If you're going to be using your own language I suggest you learn the difference between "you're" and "your"
Don't give me no bull**** any changing the spelling of the language when you have done it on numerous occasions throughout your history. Try reading Chaucer.
