I would have to say ppl in this game is the worst thing second for me would be not being able train skills for more then one toon on an account at the same time, this game has a value-for-money issue imo.

ccp customer service, if you had the misfortune of dealing with them, you know what i mean.
sovereignty mechanics which make 0.0 a big stalemate, lest ccp is finally looking to change the mechanics finally.
ccp's development schedule, after announcing a exciting or not so exciting new feature expect to wait 2 to 3 years to see it with about a billion posts "when will we see fish on stations?" or "when is the new grpahics update" or "when will we nerf falcon and be able to paint our ships pink?" granted we see these updates for free so can't comp[lain too much, if this was WoW you all would have gotten the content much faster but payed 39.99 to 49.99 for all of it.

The fact that CCP routinely thinks it's a good idea to put all the good agents in one station in lowsec/0.0 and then string out alaod of worthless agents across the rest of the region.

the fact ccp allows other people into my game does not endear them to me especially when so many of them are antisocial types. other players should be banned as they are obviously exploiting something or other.

The fact that EVE cannot open in windowed mode (it hangs) on any of my computers without a serious jury rigging effort.
This is the second time I've had to endure a crash bug just to play EVE (the first one was the sound software acceleration one, had that for a while two years ago, now this has been going on for 6 months or more (I think since the Empyrean Age), I have a work around but still...... makes trying to open up 2 accounts on 2 monitors a pain (because the workaround doesn't work if another client is open in windowed mode).
I hate the 0.0 POS mechanic but I have trouble thinking of one that solves the current problems without making large fleets far less relevant.
I hate the fact that lvl 4s provide such an easy income to empire carebears (providing them with no reason to go to 0.0, if it was possible to make more money despite dying more often, people would move), I also hate that you can salvage said missions with literally zero risk, nothing should be zero risk in EVE and the ease of the profession is devaluing more important ones such as mining or ratting in 0.0 (one provides raw materials for the market which if there is an influx, profit margins rise temporarily, 0.0 ratters provide targets for pvp) --

Edited by: Guillame Herschel on 28/07/2009 18:45:31 EVE, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.
- Right clicking (or Option-clicking on the Mac)
- That you can't navigate to an arbitrary point in space, unless somehow you have gotten there before and saved a bookmark.
- That you cannot choose your warp distance or speed, but can only warp to max distance at max speed. If that's too far or too fast: sucks to be you.
- That you can't anchor anything interesting away from a moon.
- That you must fight with twitch reflexes while using RTS-style controls.
- You can't maneuver your ship in any direction but the one the camera is facing.
- The camera has beautifully done cinematic motion controls, which you can't use at all to improve combat awareness (unless you sit still at warp-in to shoot mission NPCs).

The paper-rock-scissors nature of pvp. You either know you can win so are the aggressor, or know you will lose so you have to flee. Warp scrammed = dead and there isn't anything you can do about it. Nothing's worse than that finger-tapping period waiting to die in a situation you can't affect.
Incredible loss penalties for infinitesimal errors in judgement.

I believe this may be an issue with your grphx card or drivers. I've had 2 systems one a P4 and now my i7. Both dual screen. I run in windowed mode constantly with up to 4 clients at a time(it was rough on the P4 system). Only problem I've encountered is when I close one client it will sometimes throw an error and pop up the old windows error reporting system. Never had any problems running more than one client in windowed mode either in XP or Windows 7.

To expand on this... Being able to get information in a timely manner. After all, these are supposed to be advanced spaceships right? Examples:
- Damage and type being done to you
- Your current DPS - Potential vs. Actual
- Hard to see current states of actions taken against you (Scramble, Cap Drain, etc.)
- Actual effective range of weapons (calculated for you in the UI)
Better response from the UI - Example:
- Using the map to get information about a system is ridiculously slow!
The HUD - There has to be a better model to display objects in space around the ship in a graphical manner rather then just a simple list that doesnĘt always sort correctly.
Things that are manual that should be automatic. Example: Scanning. I should be able to set up my scanners to ępulseĘ over a specific time period to watch for probes in low sec.
There is just so much in this UI that is manual when in a more advanced world it should be automatic. I feel like I have to fight the UI as much as other ships with all the micromanaging and parsing of information that should be readily available.

Edited by: Teras Menac on 28/07/2009 21:16:15 That T2 ships are basically uninsurable.
The skill queue is too short.
That Faction War doesn't give you LP for fighting for the Faction or some other Empire based reward.
Not being able to parse market data by user specified parameters.
Not having any control over how things are displayed in your item windows.
The Corp mechanic not giving you more control over permissions to non-corp members.
That it costs 1b isk to make an alliance between two corps.
That modules have a timed amount instead of a certain amount per second. IE, armor rep should be like 50hp/s 20cap/s and you can turn them on and off at will. Afterburners/MWDs should take less power the less speed you are using.

1. The UI, or lack of ability to move stuff around very well like targets. I still haven't figured out how people get the list of targets to go vertical or get them down by your mods/cap display.
2. The fact that there's no distinction btwn containers in space and containers in stations in regards to window settings. Containers should keep their settings depending on type...a station container shouldn't use the settings of a can or wreck in space, corp hangar shouldn't use any of those either. They should maintain their own window settings.
3. Combat log display. I hate the messages that flash by "xxx does xxx damage blah blah blah" in a little window in the middle of the screen. I'd much rather have a chat window display of it so I can scroll through it etc, much more informative.
4. Lack of information period. The ewar display on the overview was a good step in the right direction, but the lack of display of information on targets other than your own modules kinda sux. I'd like to be able to get some type of information about who in my fleet has what activated on which of the targets I have locked.
5. Lack of ability to do keybinding differently. F1-F8 and variations don't do much for me. I'd like to be able to bind stuff like that to the G keys on my G15.
A note about the tactical information (or lack thereof) It would be awesome if you could, instead of just stare at your ship or whatever, when you flip to tactical display get information readouts on selected targets etc. Zoom the camera out and information about your target gets displayed vertically along the sides of the screen, like along the overview or the eve icon bar or something, or even a window. Adding extra information to the overview is kinda kewl, but a bit cumbersome. For instance, you select a target and something like this prints out along one of the sides of the screen:
<Velocity> <Tansversal> <Shield HP> <Armor HP> <Signature Radius> <Current incoming DPS (on you)> <Distance> <Active EWar : Durration> etc...
