Hurr threadnaught. I'll bring it up at the next meeting. Due to database issues CCP are unlikely to change it back the way it was, however I'll push for a change to a 0.5 or 1.0 second (at most) timer (takes me about that long to adjust my angles, cause I'm pretty pro like that). I certainly agree that 2 seconds is currently far to long.

some interesting ideas in this thread - especially the one tying scandelay to shipclasses - but overall a reduction to 0.5sec or even 1sec would also be sufficient.

Terrible implementation of a terrible idea. Half a second is reasonable, two is not. And give some feedback when we can use the scanner again, like graying out the button. The pop up message is terrible.

Strongly supported.
This isn't an issue of nerfing any one particular playstyle or group, it's a significant blow to one of the most useful general-purpose tools in the game. A delay of 0.5 seconds would have my support, as it would stop the server lag from scanner spam without significantly delaying the use of the scanner for scouting and targetted information gathering.
