I think the 2 second delay itself is manageable, but the expression of the delay in the UI is pretty awful. The message that appears when you click too soon lasts longer than 2 seconds, so it's very difficult to know whether or not your next click has produced an updated scan if you're not moving.
Not supporting the original complaint, but I would support a change in the UI that simply greyed out the Scan button for 2 seconds after clicking it, as an alternative to the current message.
