Shiva has a new category of agent murking about in the depths of the world, the Storyline Agent.
A Storyline Agent is similar to a normal agent in many aspects, but a few of the important differences are that he is available by referral only and generally only has a single mission or mission sequence: a storyline mission.
Storyline Agent's have yet to undergo their final implementation tweaks, so the end result is not fully concrete at the moment. However the general intention is that rather than being offered "important missions" with the generic agent you are working for, when the time is right for you to get an important mission your generic agent will recommend you to a storyline agent. The storyline agent will then contact you via evemail and offer you an important mission. These important/storyline missions will be receiving much more luv and attention than other missions from our content team and thus should be rather fun, generally involving dungeons, multiple phases, interesting blurb and rewards to make them worthwhile.

will implants still come from generic agents, or will they now come from the story line missions?

They should be coming from the storyline missions. Note that you will transparently be getting a storyline mission at the same intervals as you would have gotten an implant mission, so there shouldn't be much change.
There is also the possibility that implants move from missions to offers Soon(tm). Probably not in Shiva though, especially not before launch.

Will these guys be actually called storyline agents in game, or something more appropriate IC? Can't imagine something like "Hello, let me introduce you to Rarcannync Hualeritte, the Federal Intelligence Office's storyline agent..."

I actually got one of these missions offered to me on Singularity, from the Level 4 Ammatar fleet agent in Gamis. He offered me part 8 of a story line mission for the first mission when talking to him, which I completed, albeit a bit baffled. He referred me to another agent in Metropolis. I though it odd, that I should have been issued the story line mission. Subsequent missions were of the normal level 4 missions.
Oh, and good to hear from you Papa. Your candor and wit are always appreciated.

Will Storyline agents give missions typical of the division agent you're working for?
Example:
If I'm doing mission for a Public Relations agent, will there be Storyline Trade or Courier missions, or will all the storyline missions be Kill missions at these complexes and new content offered in Shiva?
I would hope there would be missions of all types:
Kill Courier (less than 2km) Trade Mining Courier (large - 2km3+)
Also, if possible, could the quantity of missions done by the playerbase change the story?
Example:
Let say the the Amarr and Minmatar declare war on each other. The number of successful mission will determine where the story goes (if more Minmater mission are successful than it'll be reported that way).
You get the idea.

I think i had the beginning of one of these mission on the singularity server "The Ares something or other" (can't quite remember). I did the first part of what the briefing told me was an 8 part sequential mission, which was to fly 24 jumps to kill a drone.
My agent then told me the name and location of an agent to contact who would have interesting work for me, the next part of the missions i assume, i didn't write this info down before closing the window and now i can't find the info again. My agent even sent me an e-mail saying thks for completing the mission but doesn't seem to give me the next agents info as a "hardcopy" anywhere. Does it appear anywhere ? and if it doesn't then it really should as i am sure i'm not the only one who will lose this info

That was a plain-and-simple bug in the mission code btw.
Glad to be appreciated. Will be trying to hang around a bit at least until Shiva grows stagnant.

In game, they should generally be referred to using fuzzy terms. They aren't storyline agents, RP wise, just agents that are not normally available.

This is just part of the bug mentioned above really. What should happen is basically:
1. Your working for Agent Annie, doing lots of generic stuff. 2. Agent Billie sends you evemail, saying how cool you are and that he has a mission for you. 3. You can now see the mission in your Missions journal listing as a mission offer. 4. If this is a mission sequence such as the Ares Operation, you'll be repeatedly going to the same agent, or be getting similar storyline referrals, thus there should be no confusion.

Storyline missions will be somewhat biased to fit the divisional boundaries, but in general expect them to be more homicidal than not, often involving complexes.
In any case I'm hoping that Some Day Over The Rainbow we can stop this divisional bias towards mission types, using f.ex. the player-feedback model mentioned elsewhere in these stickies. Thus all agents can be equally homicidal, assuming you want homicidal missions, or equally safe, assuming you want safe missions. The divisional boundaries would then primarily flavour the offers and the mission blurb (briefings, etc). But that's just far-fetched-future-stuff.

Storyline agents will exist in all factions. It is however possible to get a cross-factional storyline referral assuming that the referring agent and the storyline agent are in friendly factions.
F.ex. Working for a Gallente corporation could possibly give you a storyline mission with The Servant Sisters of EVE, the Minmatar Republic, The InterBus, ORE, The Society (yeah right ;), or Amarr Empire, in addition to storyline missions with Gallente.

Papa, will we gain personal agent standings to these Storyline Agents when having done a mission for them?
I try to keep my character sheet as clean as possible and I foresee a "Liked By"-list miles long if the Storyline Agents switch alot. It's not a problem, but I just don't like it that way :/

Good point. There's no gain from having standings with a storyline agent. I'll probably not have time to address this before launch though.
