Will hopefully resolve this layout problem but I can't be sure (since I can't test on win 7 right now)
I'll be away for the next week so hopefully this works.
Look's Good. Happy Vacation! (I hope you go for a vacation)

Have fun on vacation!
I'm getting really weird NAV numbers if I go back more than 3 or 4 days, like my NAV is increasing a lot going backwards in time (like 10 days ago it said it was 1.5B in NAV, and I know that isn't right because I never had that much (checked that it was only the corp), current NAV is around 337M, which has more or less been steadily increasing every day.)

Thanks all, not actually going away, just taking some time off work and chilling with the missus
Can you let me know if it's a corp or character that is messing up the values (or both) and which section is wrong (assets, wallet, escrow or investments) --------------------------------------

The cash in escrow is definitely off, as well as the assets. I've only tested on corporation.

Not fixed, sorry. The correct wallet balances are being reported for the current period but for previous periods the character wallet balances are still being reported as the same as the corp wallet balance.
Quote: The 'cash in escrow' part of the NAV report has been revamped and will now be far more accurate.
I think there's something very wrong with the cash in escrow calculations for previous periods; I'm going to wait a couple more days so I've got more data in my now largely empty database and if it's still behaving the same way I'll post an example.

I'm a fairly new user EMMA. I've been running it for a few months as essentially a glorified wallet tracker, but now I want to dig a bit deeper and have a couple (hopefully) brief questions.
1) How do I ensure accurate data on the Items Report? Some of my items correctly use my actual purchase price as the cost value, but some others use freakishly high numbers for the cost (much higher than I've ever paid). Will I get best results by clearing my purging my database of all the old style data? I'd hate to lose the history, but I want accurate reports more.
2) Is there any way to query the value given to individual assets in the NAV report? The asset value it reports far exceeds what the Assets Report gives, so I can only assume that it's attempting to put a value on my faction items. I deal with faction items quite a bit, so I'm curious about it.
3) Is there a tutorial or documentation on what to do with a contract entry once it's completed in game? Is EMMA smart enough to recognize when contracts are completed, or do I need to do something (if so, what?)? My apologies if this becomes obvious once you use the feature for real. I just started playing around with it.
Thanks for this excellent product. I love the route calculator.

1: That sounds like a bug. I'm not sure whether clearing your database would help, but it's worth a try.
2: The NAV report has recently been extremely buggy, so I would guess that this is another bug if the difference is very large. Another possibility: the asset value in the NAV report may be different than that of the asset report because they can use different regions to value the items. However, this usually doesn't cause large differences. Anyone know whether there are any other differences between the way NAV and assets reports compute values? I don't know of any way to get detailed asset values in the NAV report.
3: If you are talking about item exchange/auction contracts, you create a contract in EMMA when it is completed, not when it is issued. If you are talking about courier contracts, you create the contract in EMMA when the contract is issued and mark it as completed/failed/etc. when the contract is done.

Are previous versions of EMMA available for download anywhere? I have the alpha-test versions, but I would like to have 1.5.1.0-1.5.1.2 to test the missing assets issue I had. If not, could you send any of those versions to me?

Unfortunately the 1.5.1.X series where published through the web, so I do not have them any more. Maybe Ammbo have it somewhere.
However I strongly recommend to use the latest version available.

Yes, I will be using the latest version. I want an older version to try to reproduce the problem, so I can find out whether it was fixed or whether I'm not seeing it anymore due to having different data or something like that.

Yes it's possible. Please give some info: what was the item, how many you bought, how much was the price, so I can create a sql query for that specific item.
Edit: Maybe the timestamp would help as well.

1) EMMA can only use true purchase value for items that it has transaction purchase records for. If you're a new user then it's likely that you won't have these records for all your assets. Since it has no data to use, it will try and get a rough purchase price from eve-central/eve-metrics. If you go to settings -> item values then select an item that is causing a problem and click on value detail. This will show you in detail how the buy or sell price of an item is determined.
2) see above
3) I think the main tutorial contains the info you need. (You can open it anytime from EMMA's menu) Kaliph's reply is correct if it does not.

I have an archive of all versions from 1.1.1.8 onwards. I'll mail you the relevant versions but bear in mind that the database is rarely backward compatible. I.e. for an older version of EMMA, you'll also need an older version of the DB. --------------------------------------

Hi Ambo,
I recently had a customer ask how to set up our pricing scheme inside EMMA's courier contract module, and from what I can see, there is no support for fixed pricing pr jump (like many of the private courier corporations offer).
Would it be possible to add some fields, like pickup fee, fee pr jump and fee pr m3, in addition to the existing ones?
Should be easier for people to see how much of a cut into their profit using a courier service will be. Maybe you even could save settings for various courier services, and use EMMA to compare pricing between various services? Red Frog Freight Service

Hmm, you're right, there is no simple isk per jump field. I'll look into adding that in.

Edited by: Ambo on 23/08/2010 13:33:16 Version 1.5.2.4 beta is now up.
- Fixed a bug that caused an error to occur if EMMA was started after having been closed while minimised.
- Corrected a bug in the NAV report that could cause incorrect wallet balances to be reported for characters that were part of corps that were also included in the report group. (Can't test this one but pretty sure it's fixed now)
- Added some new options to the contract settings screen (settings -> contract settings). You can now specify courier contract rewards as isk per jump, isk per m3 or isk per m3 per jump. You can also specify a base reward amount that the variable amount is then added to (this also works for the old collateral or reward based reward calculations). These new settings will be used in both the autocontractor and the manual courier contract creation screen.

Sounds like you have something weird going on, like an old version of the database that isn't auto updating for some reason. Can you go to 'About' and tell me the version numbers for EMMA executable and the EMMA database. --------------------------------------

Hello fellow EMMA users. I recently discovered this program and it is absolutely great for managing production costs. However when the api updates my assets and it toggles the panel for new assets found, how can i select the option that the new asset was manufactured and not found. I have played around with this for a week now and have been unable to find that choice as the reason for emme finding a new asset.

question answered. found the asset change tracking guide http://code.google.com/p/evemarketmonitorapp/downloads/detail?name=Asset%20change%20tracking%20guide.pdf
Yes, I'm afraid this is currently unsupported. However, there is not a huge amount of work to do in order to get there so hopefully it won't be too long before manufacturers are better catered for. --------------------------------------

Version 1.5.2.5 is now up.
This is a general release and includes all the changes and fixes since the last general release (1.4.3.0 back in May).
Additionally, this change re-instates the licensing module, though it is not currently active.
It is my intention to again start charging a license fee for EMMA. This is due to the large amount of work that I've put into it recently and the work that I will continue to put in over the coming months to further improve the system.
The licensing system will remain inactive until the next general update, anticipated to be sometime next week.
If you previously bought a license then you MUST evemail me before that time and let me know that you want a new key. I will then check my records and send a new key if I have a previous payment from you. NOTE - you must use the same character that originally sent the isk.
If you did not previously buy a license then you have 3 options to keep using EMMA:
1) Disable automatic updates and continue to use the current version for free indefinitely. As soon as you update to a new version, EMMA will no longer be useable. 2) Pay 50 mil isk for a 'lite' license. This allows you to have one character or corp per report group but otherwise, all functionallity is available. 3) Pay 100 mil isk for full license that allows unrestricted use.
As of this release, you can view your current license status by clicking the 'license' button in EMMA. This will show if you have any trial time remaining (as before, trial time is 14 days) or not.
Finally, anyone who has contributed significantly to EMMA will get a free full license (or license fee refund). This includes testers, files hosters and content/code contributers. If you think you qualify and want a license then please evemail me.
Any questions, please let me know.
Thanks, Ambo. --------------------------------------

EMMA's database is located at %APPDATA%\EMMA\Data. On Windows 7, this normally expands to C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\EMMA\Data. Delete that folder to clear all your data.
