I agree, the game mechanics that allowed BOB to disband were f***ing awful, and it would REALLY suck to see it happen to a famous alliance again. IMO this annoys the crap out of me, that bad game mechanics can ruin so much work.

As far as the disbanding itself, I highly doubt it will stay in effect as it does look to be an account hacking by some script jockey. If you take in to account that CVA has held providence for nearly the entire existence of EvE itself, it is highly unlikely that Providence will be in chaos for more then a few days with or without CCP correcting a horrid game mechanic.

It could have been an account hack, but that kind of sounds like wishful thinking to me.
If the claim in CAOD is true, and 2 years went into this bid for cold, calculated revenge, I don't think I can get too worked up over the mechanics used to see it through.
Lets face it, in other types of games (or even "gasp" RL) one might take that that long to ease into a position of trust, and then assasinate the key personnel in leadership positions. Since that is impossible in EVE, this is about as close to as you can come.
Nothing against CVA, one way or the other, but this kind of drama makes the game more exciting for everyone (including the victims, although they may not be able to admit that for awhile).
I think the immediate future of Providence will be a huge game of "Whack-a-POS" looking for baby cap/supercaps to eliminate.

If there was a hack, CCP get it fixed.
If it was a 'BoB' style disband, CCP fix your ****ing mechanics

One thing to say here - no politics
CCP devs - coders, this is no one else's fault but yours.
When Bob went through, a simple vote or cooloff reversible timer system should have been coded.
That way legit disbandments occur, and infiltrations have to be more coordinated and cunning. Not just the power of one player, no matter how many clicks it takes to close the alliance.

Oh Dear...
Mechanics are a little screwed up like that, I liked that fact the Alliance tried to maintain security in providence however it never really worked for me. Rule of thumb anyone with "CVA friendly" in their bio were actually pirates.
Shame to see such a long lasting Alliance go down the drain.
