Originally by: Jelvan Zero issues running EVE w/sound on both Windows Vista and Windows 7. For those Windows XP die hards out there, I hear ya but the argument about Vista/7 using more resources, while true, isn't really that valid with the price of RAM these days. Windows 7 is really impressive and full of usability features way above and beyond what Windows XP offers that makes my day-to-day user experience significantly better. Sure, many people don't need or won't use some features but I think a lot of the resilience about using something new is just because people tend to like what they are used to just or don't like change. Vista got a bad rap from the get go (and deserved it) but it was fine after SP1. Plus, with 64-bit, it means I get to use all 4GB of RAM. I never did bother with XP 64-bit because driver support was never there. I'm still using Windows XP at work and there are countless things I miss during the day that Windows 7 offers.
Anyways, no, I don't work for Microsoft. I just thought I would plug/defend Windows 7 a bit. For those XP die hards, you might be pleasantly surprised with Windows 7 if you gave it a good shake.
Keep up the great work CCP! Can't wait to play EVE tonight.
i totally agree... windows 7 really surprized me

When archeologists dig up this thread it is going straight into the museum of fail based on the GMT definitions alone!
Gravel Marmalade Time? Giant Moose Time? Gravy Mallet Time? Geriatric Marmot Time? Generic Mackerel Time?
I talked to my buddy's friend's hamster and she told me that it actually stands for Group ************ Time. When in Rome... ____ Vote Kirana for CSM4!

I love you guys. This thread is enough to keep me entertained until Dominion goes live.
Originally by: Ghola Bashar Maybe they meant to state it went from 0.01 to 0.005 which would halve the size.
What they stated is that it went to 0.01 from 0.05. So FROM 0.05 TO 0.01. That is a reduction. ;)

I was wondering this. CCP did several "behind the scenes" videos to do with Apocrypha and it's deployment. I actually enjoyed watching them and hope they've done/they'll do the same for Dominion.
Yea those vid's were fun and a bit.. well maybe very embarrassing ..................................................

Can I just say I want to thank people who suggested to watch Clear Skies.... One of the best things Ive seen all year. I wasn't expecting much but god, was I surprised. Awesome one and a half hours.
And to those who are doubting a game made with graphics engines and voiced by English people (Rule Britannia)... just try it. You will be surprised.
Patch download in progress and my housemates are cooking up an Eid feast... nomnomnom.

Thanks for the clue EvincarVolrath. Within 25 mins of seeing your post I was patched and ready to go
This is the sweetest patch download I have had CCP all credit to you for this on. The previous 2 have been a real nightmare of 9 hrs and 7 hrs respectively.

Originally by: Ghola Bashar No, sorry you're wrong. .05 is a larger amount or number than .01 no matter how you look at it. It went from 1/100th cubic meter to 5/100 cubic meter. So, it is 5 times bigger.
Maybe they meant to state it went from 0.01 to 0.005 which would halve the size.
Im sorry. You appear to be mentally deficient. Read the following sentence again. The volume of carbides (advanced materials) has been reduced to 0.01m3 from 0.05m3.
The volume has been reduced TO 0.01 FROM 0.05. Therefore it WAS 0.05, and is NOW 0.01. This is a fivefold reduction in volume.

Ummm, what? Why? I thought that was rather the whole point of the Interdiction Nullifier?!
It says it won't be STOPPED from warping. Meaning there was a glitch before that caused the subsystem malfunction.

Patch download went without any problems, downloaded at a stable 8MB/s (yes, almost 80Mbit/s) and the patching went great.
Now we'll just wait for CCP to complete the process, and we'll be able to join the fun.

Is the server up? The patch is downloading right now for me, too. Is it worth it? By what I figured, it would be another hr and 45, so is it worth the try?

Those of you saying there must be issues cos you cant log on after the patch is installed are wrong im affraid. CCP are allowign everyone to download whilst they are still working on the migration to the new version.
Just cos the patch is downloading and you can't log on don't take this as a bad thing, it's actually a good thing that you been able to download the patch before the switch is flipped :)

I guess it's worth it. Especially if you want to continue playing EVE.

Only good thing about patch is logging into game is pretty fast the 1st couple weeks than its back to 5 minute logins
*grammer fail*
Stop the epic fail. You can actually check eve status without login into the game or forums.

Are you trying to tell me that if EvE is not accepting connections that EvE will not accept a connection from me? P.S. Has anyone counted the number of Minmatar regions in empire space? |
