Using beta 0.2 when I start EveHQ I get "There was an error retrieving settings from a custom database. The error was: Conversion from string "0.01" to type 'Double' is invalid". And then, when I try to select any BP in the plugin I get the following crash log (well, exception log really): EveHQ Error Report

Edited by: EternalFaust on 15/12/2009 22:05:28 Yes, it would appear you are suffering from the bugs relating to the comma decimal system as well. I'm trying to get this fixed but it's a bit tricky. I've finally figured out how to replicate this issue which means i'll finally be able to get something done about it.
Oh, and thanks Fatal, I'll see what I can do.

Are you going to publish source code? If you do, I can try and help with comma decimal system.

Actually Fatal, a screenshot or two would be brilliant if possible... I'm still having trouble finding any kind of discrepency in those calcs for me and it would make it that much easier if I could see what you are getting.
Ok guys, update beta 0.3 fixes the issues with the comma separated decimal system. If you were one of the lucky people with this bug when you run the plugin it will give the error as per usual, however, it will now ask if you would like to reset the settings to default. That is the invention calculator settings, not the whole of evehq. Just click yes and it will straighten out your settings and also use the correct regional settings throughout.

Hiya,
Not quite sure exactly what you want a screenie of so do let me know and ile see what I can do. On other note, I may have an idea of whats going on. People maybe getting thrown off because of the "profit per hr per slot & profit per day". This doesnt seem right to me. Try this, pick a ship which is under a day build time at -4ME / -4PE. Now add any runs over the build time i.e. if ship takes 15hrs, add 2 or more. Now watch the profit per slot/per day raise up and this must be throwing people off. Also notice this the profit per hr is off because add say a ship which is 15hrs build time, now take the profit per hr and times by 24 which equils te same as the profit per day which is correct. However, if you remmeber the ship has a build time of 15hrs! not 24!. In other words the profit per day should be less then its showing in some cases. Hope this makes sence or at least thats what I can see/detect. I have found though if you leave it at build of 1, Most details or at least whats needed to see if something is worth doing is working. What I usualy do if I want to find out my profit per day (thats what I usualy base evrything I do on) is use prisum and add in the ship with the correct me/pe and then keep adding qty's until I hit 7 days or there abouts. That will tellme how many ships I can build in a week on one slot. Then times by 10 (as I usualy have 10 of the same running at any one time and usualy about a weeks worth is planned). This tells me how much total profit each week an item is. I then divide the profit by 7 to give you 10 slots per day profit. Thats how I do it anyway and looking at my wallet each week, it seems to be right.
However not sure how you can add this sort of check/system in. Maybe just remove the profit perday/slot and just leave it as per item. Its then upto the end user to work out what the profit is per slot/hr/week/year or whatever. I think from your point of coding it be much easier.

Edited by: EternalFaust on 16/12/2009 19:22:05 I'll have a look, but it is totally possible for revenue per job to be negative. If your build cost is more than your sell cost, ta da.

Edit: Scratch the above comment... I see exactly what you mean now... something is going very badly wrong.. I'm looking into it.

Is this what your after?
... and this.
Do bare in mind 1) ive blanked out my chars apart from fatal down the bottom :) 2) these are "The Forge" prices which were pulled in a few minutes ago. I usualy custom all prices when I want to make everything with the extra prices before purchase. Even so I can tell you that these details are about right. Im no where near Jita right now to get absoulely latest but the costs are about right as I made a load of these the other week and sold profit was between 8-12m each ship.
Let me know after you seen the screenie then I shell remove it so people dont know what im talking about :)
Kind Regards,
Fatal
p.s. yes most t2 items atm are fecked up but some are not. fecked up as in t2 materals prices are still unstable and at wrong prices which people are selling, thats got nothing to do with your application/plugin.

Edited by: EternalFaust on 16/12/2009 21:43:02 Thank you so much for the screenshots and your patience guys... this would be so much easier if I had half a clue about what all of this means hehe, but that's what my inventor friend (i'll hereby refer to him as MrX since I'm sick of typing inventor friend and he doesn't want to take any credit for his input in this even though i'm pushing him to) is for.
Also, that error that was received earlier... I know what caused it, I am putting in a fix for it, but if you close the program and reopen it after "Reset to Defaults" it won't happen, which is crap so I'm going to make it work properly.
I'm getting onto this revenue thing right now guys.

After an extremely long conversation with Fatal today it would seem that between us we have nutted out the issues with revenue. I'm currently adding BPC cost to the mix and playing with the T2 components build and then hopefully will put out a new beta in a few hours time.

The profit per hr concept itself is fine. The issue you point out here is actually related to the fact that you're editing output runs artificially. The average profit potential of a blueprint doesn't alter if you choose to only build some of its runs now, or if you choose to build more than the max runs by building from multiple blueprints at once.
Originally by: Fatal Reality However, if you remember the ship has a build time of 15hrs! not 24!. In other words the profit per day should be less then its showing in some cases.
If the end to end timeframe is less than 24 hours, then the profit per day figure is still correct, as it assumes that you're doing end to end continually 24 hours a day.
This whole thing should be based on averages, not on specific instances. If you were to try and account for the fact that it only took you 15 hours in your example with the implicit assumption you stop producing after that run is complete, then the figure would be inaccurate in the case of someone who did do 24/7 end to end runs.

When the build cost is close to the sell price and there is low or no profit, the total cost per item is screwed showing extremely low costs. Linkage Also if I add a custom blueprint to my inventory, the invention calculator doesn't see it and it doesn't apply it when I tick the "Build the components I have a blueprint for". Also using the corp blueprints would help.
Nice work until now, keep it that way.

The changes coming in the next release will possibly negate the custom blueprint thing. Hopefully. Sometimes I am baffled as to where these new errors spring up from. I haven't touched the code for the implants in any new betas... I will look into it and see if I can figure out what's going on.

Same happens if you just leave the field empty using Backspace.
Anyway I have a question. How can I select not to have any base items used during invention?
Also it would be nice to have number formatters (dunno if C# even has them though) for each price edit field. Might even fix some of the issues you are having.

Written in Visual Basic 2008 dude. New release is up fixes the empty field issue.
Base item price if left at 0 with meta level 0 is exactly the same as having no base item.

with version 0.7 I'm still getting the build cost error for ship invention when you check the Manufacture Components checkbox.
I'll go back to my Curse example. If you select Circular Logic for your decryptor, then the build cost with the checkbox unchecked is 163mil. If you check that box then build cost falls to 15mil, which completely throws out the Invention Profits. All the component costs still fall as if it is dividing what should be the build cost by the total number of runs eg again using circular logic, Nanoelectrical Microprocessor drops from 734mil (the cost to build all 9 runs) to 54mil (the single run cost) when checking that box.
Interestingly I can't see it doing this with modules.

well.... i'll be damned... I see exactly what you mean now. I honestly was confused about what you were saying was happening. But I absolutely see what you mean now. I'll get right on this, it is a HUGE mistake.

Found and fixed. Sorry about that, I honestly thought I had fixed what you were talking about. Moved to 1.0 version since 90% of bugs seem to be fixed.
