Shadows Lord Caldari	Posted - 2010.08.19 11:52:00 - [1] As Topic says, my Eve is crashing when i try to open it. This happend after the new patch got installed (like yesterday or 2 days ago). I have reinstalled the game, deleted the remaning folder content, remoted local content and the files in "Documents". After a clean install it got the same error. I dont get into login screen or anything. Screen just goes black and then "CCP ExeFiles have stoped to work" windows window pops up. Im at Vista 64-bit. Thank you.

Shadows Lord Caldari	Posted - 2010.08.19 22:18:00 - [7] Wooohaaa... Alot of ppl got the same issue. I hate it. Right now im playing from my laptop instead of my desktop (13.3inc vs 22inc) so... its anoying. Worked perfectly to patch on laptop but not desktop. Comon! WE NEED HELP!

Eve also won't go past the Splash Screen, process keeps on running on my laptop though :s I've tried the repair tool: No luck Complete reinstall of the client: No luck I've still got a hardcopy of EVE though, and will try that next. If that helps, I'll post it here for all you people who have bought the last boxed edition. A foe without honour, is a foe already beaten.

CCP Tenitigo	Posted - 2010.08.20 10:44:00 - [13] For those of you crashing after the splash screen but before the login screen appears: Do you have any third party software that would affect the client's network activity (firewalls, internet security programs, or programs that limit bandwidth, etc)? While we identified Netlimiter 1.xx causing the client to crash, it's possible other programs are also affecting the client.

Saelie	Posted - 2010.08.20 10:56:00 - [14] In the petition I've submitted, I indicated that I got the same result even if I shut down every optional program, and even if I ran Windows in Safe Mode, with a bare minimum of computer activity and virtually nothing running, not even the firewall. In Safe Mode it doesn't crash right away, but it still doesn't get past the splash screen. Instead of crashing, the program simply hangs forever and consumes a bottomless amount of system resources until process-killed. If you locate my petition, I have all relevant information and files included therein.

As for thrid party applications effecting the running, I don't understand why pre-patch it wouldn't be a problem but after it is. Surely its a problem with the eve client not our PC's.

I try to start the game, I get the splash screen then the game closes (crashes) and nothing happens. Why isnt this stuff tested before its sent out to the public? Least the boot.ini wasnt screwed up this time round. I am using Windows 7 64bit.

It was working before, but after the patch eve just crashes. I need to use a socky proxy because the university only allows usage of http ports

However, I've disabled everything that could be a problem within my computer, all firewalls, bandwidth limiters, everything. All I get is the splashscreen, then the client just decides to go hibernating or something. The process "ExeFile.exe" is running, and it's connected to Eve. No idea what it does though, the "eve.exe" shuts down as soon as the splashscreen disappears, and ExeFile.exe starts. So, what to do?

Installation went flawless, and one 1.7GB download later the patch got installed. After patch installation I could happily log in again. If you've got the boxed edition somewhere lying around your home, and have this issue, I can advise trying a re-install by this method. I'm not sure if working with an old installer will work too, but I think it's worth the effort. Now you just to find a place where you can get it... A foe without honour, is a foe already beaten.

I'm no tech guy butI'm guessing the problem with the patch was moving folders around. Hope it works for you guys
