CCP. Do you want to make serious amounts of cash promoting the game?
The EVE storyline is very rich. IMPO you could try to make the arrangements to release EVE as a SF Hollywood movie.
With this nice storyline and with someone crafty in SFX like Light & Magic you should hit number one in the box office in the first week.
I know i would be on the cinema head on.
How about you?

Making a Hollywood film about a video game is a very risky business mate. Name one Hollywood film that's based on a game that has not been a complete screw-up.
In any-case, while an Eve-movie would be nice, I doubt CCP would have the funding to be able to do so on their own, so they'd need funding from a production company to do so, and that would be a hard task in itself... ---------------------------

Oh good god, I'd forgotten about WC....
Well, there is one difference, Eve is NOT cheesy, it's a hard, dark place of distrust, villainy and it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad, sometimes.

Heh, for a few seconds, I thought you were answering my question about naming one hollywood movie that wasn't a complete screw-up...

While I'd love to see an EVE movie, I'd be willing to bet a Hollywood studio would find a way to screw it up. I mean, how could they even begin to grasp the source material unless they played the game for over a year? Personally, I think the movie makers of EVE we have now should be flown to CCP and given a small budget to do this... *hint-hint*...
Seriously, at least for now, screw a movie. NO. I would gladly pay for a series of novels written in the EVE universe. There is so much potential already in the background information. As an amateur writer myself, I wish I had the time to really delve into it but I'd have to stop playing the game so that's not really an option right now. -

Resident Evil was quite good. And although Wing Commander was no blockbuster I still enjoyed it. And what about Tomb Raider, it seems to have done quite well also...

Have it set in space, but not really EVE space at all, instead, let's have it set on Earth, it's familiar.
And the evil super "Jovians" are not really Jovians at all, instead it's a malicious super biological virus which has gone wrong.
Here's where the hero comes in, a Caldari Navy Spec Ops bla-something, but not really Caldari at all, he's just human, it's less confusing.
He has a gun.
Explosions occur, THE END.

If i was uber rich i would do this:
Effects: Light & Magic
Actors:
Harrison Ford: Deteis Caldari
Dany Glove: Brutor Minmatar
Rutger Hauer: Amarr
Angelina Jolie: Gallente
(feel free to insert names here)
With a good storyline and these actors would you miss a block buster?

Both the Resident Evil films were pathetic
No horror, no suspense just crappy SFX, predictable script and overpaid Hollywood names. Complete let down
