Originally by: Ashton Black Well, there is one difference, Eve is ... a hard, dark place of distrust, villainy and it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad, sometimes.
Much as I personally agree this is what makes for the basis of a really good story, how well does it fit into the standard Hollywood movie mould? Look at the trouble they've had in making Alan Moore's 'Watchmen' into a movie - excpet we can't because the whole concept of 'not having a good guy/bad guy dynamic' proved so distressing to the Hollywood exec types it's still never got past the screenplay stage
However - who says a movie has to be made in Hollywood? Give it to Jean-Pierre Jeunet and let him go wild - any big or small screen production of Eve could really be done justice, IMO, if it could include the humour, bizarreness and surreality he brings to his movies.

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within was complete crap. Not only did they take out almost every single tradition (except Cid) the girl looked like she had gotten shot by a gun that made her have moles all over the place. Why did they take the moogle and chocobos out? That goes x2 for moogles, I LOVE MOOGLES. And I WANT TO SEE MOOGLES RIDING CHOCOBOS. Anyways...I'm sure Final Fantasy VII: AC will be good though. Even if it is just flashy combat scenes, after seeing the trailers I can already tell it's a lot better then FF:SW.

mortal combat was the best game to come to the big screen ever.
or not.
The back story is awesome for eve, but really how much of it could you fit in to make any sort of plot make sense in 1.5 hours. something more like a mini series would give enough time to fill out the back story and have room to fill out a decent plot or few.

Heh, you don't know your FF very well then. All of the games share the same underlying thematic elements, which were present in The Spirits Within. It was definitely a Final Fantasy movie, just not a copy of one of the games.
Advent Children does look sweet tho.
EDIT: (So I'm not completely OT) I still think a Sci-Fi series would be spectacular.

If there was a movie it would have to be based on a character in EvE not on EvE as a whole. Or a certain part of the storyline of EvE eg the Caldari - Gallente war.
CCP has some brillient and very talented story writers, Im sure one of them could write a story maybe showing the old classic, Caldari male soldier fightin in the war falls in love with a female gallente prisoner. etc.
Or split the war into a trilogy and have it like that. The story is easily possible with such great writers.
Hand it over to a film company, and hope that they dont **** it up.

Contact the guy that wrote Babylon 5 and make a TV series, hands down the best sci-fi script and arguably best TV series script ever.
If nothing else the series will create a whole horde of subraces, each with more outrageuos hair and accessories than the one before.

I must admit, it would be really cool to see a EVE movie.

Gfx on par with FF:spirits/ AC, with decent voice actors. maybe based on the caldari/gallente wars? it would cover quite a bit, for a movie that is ;) fighting, fleet battles, heroes rising and falling etc, or kmebbe invasion of jove :/
