If i was uber rich i would do this:
Effects: Light & Magic
Actors:
Harrison Ford: Deteis Caldari
Dany Glove: Brutor Minmatar
Rutger Hauer: Amarr
Angelina Jolie: Gallente
(feel free to insert names here)
With a good storyline and these actors would you miss a block buster?
Ya know, I can actually picture Harrison Ford in the suit similar to what your char is wearing, walking around and looking serious while giving military orders.

Nice idea altho I cant see it ever happening in the near future. But it did get me thinking, why doesnt the community start something, a series of sorts ie your corp or alliance might take a few hours a week to record fraps and do a weekly show or that. Might turn out to be very good. I know people Fraps battles and that already but it you thought about it I'm sure you could come up with some great storylines. Only an idea dont flame me till i burn please.

About two years ago when s&s were promoting eve etc they bought up the rights to make eve into a movie, and ccp said they had plans to do so, this was during or pre alpha testing, not sure what their plans are now tho, doesnt look like they'll do it.

As long as it didnt end up looking like thunderbirds i think the eve storyline would hold its own. Look at the depth the game has...so a movie...eve has all the ingredients for being a great film. Final Fantasy...wasnt as big as some hoped but still was huge. With some good directing, and gphx ( Alan Cameron - The Mummy ), the film would take off...and do i smell sequel?...

Personally I'd perfer a TV series than a film. You can develop the story and characters a lot more in a series than 150 minute film. A 2hr pilot followed by 1hr length episodes.
Less risky for the production company (you don't need big names to attract viewers) and if the pilot doesn't sell well then you pull the plug there.
Realistically? Books would be good but your market is even more limited and for a good book you're talking at least a year to write, rewrite, edit, rewrite and final edit.

Cinematography style similar to the new Battlestar Galactica tv series. OMG its gorgeous.
Just don't show the Eve physics in the movie like they are in the game

It would be interesting if it was focused on a hero, with bits and pieces of the background story, given at different times throughout the movie instead of being focused on the backstory. In any case, makign movies out of games dont come out too good, but the reciprocal, Star Wars, can come out nice. ----------------------------------- about:blank |

Seriously, at least for now, screw a movie. NO. I would gladly pay for a series of novels written in the EVE universe. There is so much potential already in the background information. As an amateur writer myself, I wish I had the time to really delve into it but I'd have to stop playing the game so that's not really an option right now.
yep novels i think are the way to advertise the game. i would buy instantly --------

I agree that there are some pitiful games to film out there, but not all are bad. Personally, i'd enjoy seeing some of the novellas, especially ruthless even though only the first chapter is out, turned into a short film or possibly extended into a full length.
There is definately a lot of potential within Eve, and I hope it's taken further.
