Due to an issue with deploying static updates to Tranquility, the deployment of EVE Online Tyrannis 1.1 is delayed. We anticipate Tranquility will be returned to service by 14:50 UTC.

We discovered a critical issue during the final stages of deployment. We are currently working to resolve the issue and expect Tranquility to return to service at 17:30 UTC

It'd be nice if you'd post the patch so we could pre-patch instead of waiting for uptime to come. You're not changing client code in 30 minutes after all.

They are 100% relevant to the situation in hand.
Instead of locking threads why not reply to them? You "should" have info we don't have therefore maybe your info might chillax the community?
Locking threads makes you look cowardly and yellow

Please just stay off the air long enough so people normally not impacted by extended DT get a taste of your normal level of service whenever you try to "fix" things Can't Code Python.

Like I said the extended DT is making me lost 3m+ ISK every hour its not back up. They should have just put the old server back up do the work then try it again the next day.
This can fix the problem of people not being happy about the extended DT not to mention it would give you guys more time to make sure its done right and attempt to put the new version up again.

The information that is publicly available is in this thread, if it is not in this thread, then the information simply isn't available no matter how many threads you open. ibtl Suggestion: Remove the "new topic" button from everywhere apart from the list of topics section within a subforum.

I'll take a PLEX thanks.
One for each account CCP.
Please stop releasing "fixes". Just lock the game down, sack everyone and let us just live with it.
The things you choose to fix are esoteric and crap.

Edited by: Mieryn Caval on 30/09/2010 14:50:07 What steps have CCP taken to ensure a more stable update process? Cause sometimes you are ahead of schedule, and most times off by a sizeable margin. I mean, you must be as tired of these things almost always falling apart into a critical issue as much as we are, right?

its not extended maintenance, its correcting problems caused by probably implementing a patch without adequate testing.

They did change client code already and it may be that change that's affecting the backend - or client-server comm. Releasing a patch before the servers are working may only lead to you having to download a second patch with the final set of fixes. Be patient.

Any chance for future patches you all could do this crap some other TZ. Every damn patch Asia, Austalia, New Zealnad get screwed when you have unforeseen problems. Has a tendency to get old. US doesn't get to pew pew while eating breakfast, not too bad. People in my part of the world...lost a night of game play.....again.
All about taking it for the team...but damn, part of that means the team takes theirs at some point as well.

I second this. I live in eastern europe, and it's a hassle that the downtime is always when I am able to play, every single day. I honestly wish they'd change the downtime to favor different timezones every so often. So like, every 6 months they change their DT schedule. Giving the other half of the world a break from constant interruptions.
To me, this seems reasonable enough. Considering that a large portion of their subscribers are Russian, European, British, and Australian.

Stop thinking, me me me me me me me me.
But sure it would make "much" sense to get the people responsible for the patch out of bed in the middle of the night because you are oh so slightly inconvenienced.
