Dearest Adida, enquiring minds want to know: Do you feel like a right idiot having to repeatedly post how incapable your own company is at estimating patch times, every single time there's an extended downtime, and if so, have you considered looking for employment elsewhere?

This is simply to mock people! I dont mind wait for a update, implentation or whatever it is. But not having a clue for when the server is back up and just giving us any time that comes to your minds out to the public. This is simply not good enough CCP!

Nice to see that nothing changes, simple updates are botched. Server migrations are done without fail safe backups and restore plans. Exploits abound that bork the in game economy. Expansions with content the player base really did not want that breaks the game we do want. Customer service that is loaded with Failsauce.
But hey we get music videos and tons of blogs explaining how awesome it all is.

Also, upsetting the folks that hold the on switch to the server is nearly as bad as upsetting the cook at your favorite fast food resteraunt. Just saying.

Well your kinda both wrong.
When the UK is gmt it is the same time as eve, however currently the UK is BST (British Summer Time) and so its one hour ahead of eve.
Right so basicly it's summer time here (BST) now yeah and were one hour in front like right now yes? so how can we be wrong when it's an hour in front!!! Wtf!

LOL who says they are programmers ?
This is EVE. Don't you know, everyone here is a programmer or some sort of network specialist that works in a server farm. I myself am a roofer. But I actually invented the internet and HTML before Tim Berners-Lee.

UK Time != Eve Time
Yes the statement is correct but using it in the reply was incorrect.
DT is meant to end at 19UTC (lol) and the person Illwill Bill replied to said '8pm UK time' which is correct as BST is UTC +1.

EVE is just an Excel spreadsheet with a GUI.

I was being generous and only demanding compensation for the time I haven't been able to play, not the whole downtime. Figure I'd be nice to CCP. -----

Coordinated Universal Time
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from UTC)
Not to be confused with Greenwich Mean Time.
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is a time standard based on International Atomic Time (TAI) with leap seconds added at irregular intervals to compensate for the Earth's slowing rotation. Leap seconds are used to allow UTC to closely track UT1, which is mean solar time at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.
The difference between UTC and UT1 is not allowed to exceed 0.9 seconds so, if high precision is not required, the general term Universal Time (UT) may be used.
In casual use, when fractions of a second are not important, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) can be considered equivalent to UTC or UT1. Saying "GMT" often implies either UTC or UT1 when used within informal or casual contexts. In technical contexts, usage of "GMT" is avoided; the unambiguous terminology "UTC" or "UT1" is preferred.
Time zones around the world can be expressed as positive or negative offsets from UTC as in this list; UTC replaced GMT as the basis for the main reference time scale or civil time in various regions on 1 January 1972.
UTC does not change with a change of seasons, but local time or civil time may change if a time zone jurisdiction observes daylight saving time or summer time. For example, UTC is 5 hours ahead of local time on the east coast of the United States during winter, but 4 hours ahead during summer.
Hope this helps.

Wonders if CCP are like a police force?

Entitlement? Isn't that something that you get for free and then think it should keep coming?
That's the problem with software companies. They forget there is this entity called "CUSTOMERS" that pay for their products. FAIL product - No customer - No JOB.
You go to the store and get spoiled milk - you don't complain? I bet you complain and then go to different store.
I didn't see any issues in the release log that were panic fixes that needed to be rolled out immediately. All the b-hurt can be fixed by more rigorous/innovative testing. I've seen multiple companies fix their software quality and release issues. They just have to want to do it.
Time to fall back to a different game (aka company)
Originally by: Ataxis you know...
all of this butthurt could be fixed with one simple solution...
if people would get rid of this sense of entitlement, and accept that patch day is a volatile day, people would be much happier with the situation...
here's a clue for people who don't work in the IT industry or think that computers are all plug and play...
no amount of testing in a test environment will accurately reflect what will happen when converting new software to a live production environment...
no deployment goes off without a hitch...there are *always* problems...some are easy fixes, some take several hours...
get over yourselves, and quit thinking that CCP owes you their left nut...
