Suicide attacks in 1.0 space in a case like this are obviously griefing plain and simple. This "hehehe just getting kicks" garbage sounds like some pimply immature loser getting his jollies. As I recall the "LopTop" person mentioned in the first post was also the loser who *****ed about the Tsunami victims and hoped they were in game so he could pod them. A real waste of oxygen.
I hate to suggest TomB wave his infamous nerf bat around again but in this case these griefers will force it. This is the same thing that has happened OVER AND OVER AGAIN in Eve. A system is in place for combat and some idiot comes along and exploits it somehow or finds a way around it and will in the end force CCP to do another nerf. Going all the way back to the original pirates like Setec being nerfed out of Empire we see the behavior of a few losers forcing CCP to make changes. I'm sure the "carebears whining" accusation will be made but in all honesty complaints here are COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED. This is just pathetic griefing behavior and nothing more.
Apparently these losers also have no trouble losing Kestrels to Concord. They brag about being able to create a new character with Kestrel skills at origin. So basically everyday they can go out and grief 4-5 people then just terminate their alt at bedtime, wakeup in the morning get out of their jammies and create another griefer alt, clearly pathetic.
CCP I'd encourage you to make an example of these idiots and just ban them. You've danced around the issue of griefing long enough. You've done NOTHING to get the word out that this type of behavior has consequences. The line between griefing and just doing PvP is pretty clear. It's kind of like obscenity in some ways the way a US Supreme Court justice once described it (sorry I forget which one). He said he couldn't describe it but he knows it when he sees it. Well this is a case like that. I know griefing when I see it and this is it. Make an example of these misfits and clear the air.
Archbishop
I have to agree as this sort of thing will just lead to more nerfs. Which will just do more damage to PvP.

LOL thats awsome
What she said! you're causing other people trouble just for kicks. piracy is a role in the game, greifing is caused by a problem you have in RL which makes you retarded and enjoy making people's days worse. You gain nothing from it in terms of ingame, and in RL the only thing you gain is sick pleasure at other people's expense. I suppose it is just as lame and immature as pathetic little bullies in a playground with an IQ generally below room temperature. This concludes my rant.
The End. And they all lived happily ever after until some unhumorous idiot came and greifed them.
Piracy shall never die. Do not use the 'm-word' in my presence, or i may be forced to reprogram your harvestors to releive you of your limbs. Yarrr >=) |

Couldn't agree more there. One of my corp mates nearly lost a hoarder full of Zyd and Mega due to one of these idiots and she was on her way to build a BS and would have been ****ed at having lost such a thing. Luckily for her the idiots got wasted by CONCORD before she got toasted.
People like this are the kind of persons that deserve to be put up in Yulai and anyone who wants can pod them without standing decrease for a week (they must log in to actually start the week and it ONLY detracts time while they're logged in) without the ability to create a clone so they lose skills on their main.

I'd like CCP to step up and admit that WHAT WE WARNED ABOUT has transpired, Algogille, Kehour, and probably other systems, are seeing disposable alt gankers take down ships worth millions.
We told CCP that the wafer-thin aluminium used to cover the barges was a recipe for disaster.
Like they'd think it through...

Something like this was attempted last night on one of our Corp Barges.
He soon warped out when less than 60 seconds after he started his attack run a battleship, 2 cruisers and a destroyer warped in :)

I think CCP suspected this would happen but foolishly hoped our playerbase would show some maturity and restraint.
Alas, what we suspected has come true, so expect a hefty beefing up of all barges.

Edited by: Calsak on 04/01/2005 09:44:03 Never used an alt at all so not sure whether this is already there but if they could make it so you can only delete a character 60 days after it's original creation date then perhaps it may discourge this. Or at least make it happen less often.

Possible solution: 10 million ISK to destroy a character, which takes 48 or 36 hours. Kind of makes it a whole lot less profitable to make a few a day. Maybe one a week. Dunno, just an idea.

Think Archbishop sums it up nicely.
This sort of thing drives newer players from the game too.
I agree that this sort of playing style needs to be stamped on and quickly. |

Edited by: SlaneeshZ on 04/01/2005 14:39:10 I would be simply for a higher security level loss the higher the sec level is. Let's see how fast -5.0 can be achieved then. ---- A true player does feel no need to remind himself or fellow players that it is just a game. |

Well said Archbishop, and being a "Carebear" (miner/mission runner) I should embrace nerfing but I don't... I did not even like the nerfing that was done to missiles and kestrel from before.
I do think that griefing like this will enforce more nerfing or even making those barges more resistence to damage.
The game does not need more nerfing that is for sure.
