There's no reason to get offended. I am new to the game; that's a good thing though, I'm sticking with EvE even when people make the obvious comment of "you're new" as a /negative/ observation.

Thank you, I am aware :)

Either way! I hope more females play <3

Just find something you enjoy doing for you isk, fly with people you enjoy talking to and remember it's just a game. Sure, go cry for a second when you lose a 16b isk ship but laugh it off with corp mates and realize what you could have done differently.
There's plenty of people who'll probably help you in specific professions if you wanted to learn.

 Hello Mintchip,

Firstly, welcome to eve i guess.
I just watched your vid and the one thing you said that stuck out to me was 'It takes forever to do anything'.

You could't be closer to the truth if you tried to be honest. I've been playing for just over 4 years now and this is still one of the main problems I have with the game. Not in terms of skills, but in terms of general gameplay. Many people who read this section of the forums are skilled pvp'ers and I think many will agree with me when I say that the 'good fights' that keep you coming back to eve are rare. I would say about 1 out of 10 from my experience, maybe even more.

This may just be specific to small gang pvp, but I don't think so.
I've literally asked my friend to change my login info so that I can't log in for the next 2/3 weeks, because I know that i would just waste so much time on there instead of actually being productive.

 Oli Robbo

 Edit:
Also I forgot to mention, If you are interested in getting into pvp/ pirating etc there used to be a 'girl only' pirate corp called Hellcats. But that was some time ago, I'm not sure if they're still around.

To new player it seems missioning is the only thing to do in EVE... but there are lots of more stuff, but you probably don't have the knowledge and ISK to do them. If you want to try out cheap PVP, faction warfare is the best way imo. You can fly with frigates, kill some.. and die a lot.

I highly recommend you get in touch with the Women Gamers of Eve. They have a public channel for access requests & conversing with outsiders, and there is a private channel once they get to know you.

The women I know who have done this made some very close friends and it benefited them quite a bit to have people help out from time to time.

Firstly, I noticed WOW raiding character at the start.
This might sound odd, but what u experienced there was almost no skill and no punishment
for any Guilds' failiures. EvE will dry hump you when it comes to Raiding aka. Fleet OPs.

Secondly, good to see some Vidz being published.
The commune needs more of it, especially adverts for fresh carebears.

Best wishes on u'r progress xD

Yeah, most pvpers that I know used to shake uncontrollably after their first ~50 fights. Nowadays, only the closest and the most intense fights still make me shake, but the adrenaline rush is still nothing like other games can do.

Most of the stuff in the clip is true. I remember my thoughts a long time ago when I started to play and they were somewhat similar. However, learning curve and the amount of stuff you can do in the game (complexity) is what attracted me to EVE. I don't like simple games and I do like to explore and learn.

Waiting for some useful skills to train is not an issue, because in every stage of the game you have multiple options of what you can do. For example, I remember trading faction specific items (datacores,...) from Gallente and Caldari to Minmatar space and vice versa. Made me a lot of ISK in the start. There's so much more stuff now that a new player can do which was not in the game a couple of years back in the past. Epic mission arcs, exploration, wormhole space...

And don't be discouraged because you can't fly a titan or any other ship in the foreseeable future, because you can always fly many other ships that are fun to play with. Capital ships and especially supercaps (supercarriers and titans) are a great responsibility. They are not fun.

At the end, your points from the video are perfectly valid for anyone, not only girls. What makes EVE hostile to girls might be the amount of trolls on the forum and macho b******* in the game (this is a PvP based game after all).

It's interesting when people just assume I play wow and only wow.

I played AC and I believe that it was brutal and had an amazing PK system. And it took a lot of skill because it didn't have the "auto target" of all today's mmos.

I've been gaming since I was 6 years old :X (And I've never stopped playing a game because it was "too hard" )

so far eve hasn't been hard to understand or navigate. I like being new to a game. Learning new things and being surprised is one of the most rewarding things about starting up :) (for me at least)

Funny because you ignorantly implied mission running is ALL THERE IS TO DO and now claim you are clueless as if that is OK. Next time maybe you should engage your brain before deciding to take a brainfart on youtube about something you have absolutely zero knowledge about.

I agree with you - that it can be applied to both. But my points about social interaction apply, i feel, more toward a female base. I am not sure if I elaborated, but eve can feel impersonal. And females (judge not) are more social interested in relationships and bonds. Even if it's just 1 person they play with. Not all women, of course, but enough.

Hahaha, so I have friends who have been playing eve for 10 years, and when i asked "so what should I do now?" they were like you can "run missions" And that's what I've been doing. It was in conjunction with it taking forever to do anything. I was like "I want to pvp" "well learn these skills first and get a tristan and we can go around and pvp (lol)" and i was like "well while im waiting what can I do?" "just run missions if you want - otherwise nothing i guess..."

Please. No one is attacking your game. I know I don't know much about it - but I'm trying :) and I am simply responding to what I learn from playing and from players. YOU GUYS (And girls) who message me. :S

I'm a female, coming into eve. I'm telling you why I may or may not want to play the game - right off the bat. And what I think would help keep someone like me playing - or anyone playing.

EVE is not about instant gratification. Shopping is, so is WOW, Animal Crossing and Hello Kitty Island Adventure. EVE is about Adrenaline rush you get when you know you might die in a second/pull off best fight of the week.
EVE is the only game that gives me (and many maaany people) actual fight-or-flight response. I mean shivers, pupil dilation, racing heartbeat, shaking hands. Only way to understand phenomenon and true potential of EVE is to taste that feeling.

I think you seem to have miss-understood my point - Like what Don said below your post,it takes that much longer to get that rare fight where you recieve the fight or flight response. ie; the good fights.

For me the only way to get this now is by fighting outnumbered in smaller gangs using tactics over blobs, of which a lot of the time, the blob has too much ecm/numbers to do anything against. But every once in a while you get that fight which makes you keep coming back for more.

Don't take advice from carebears. Train propulsion jamming I and get out there tackling for gangs. The problem is listening to incompetents and taking their word for it.

Also, want to buy pre 2003 eve. If they have been playing since alpha and all they can think of to advise is mission running then they are truly ******ed and you should ditch them ASAP.

 This is so true.
Some good places to start are: Faction Warfare, Red Federation vs Blue Republic [constant war dec's], or get a rifter and going griefing - That way you learn about highsec pvp mechanics etc if you so choose.

Another factor is Killboard stats, research them of evekill, it's not the be all and end all but it will provide you with info about how the corp flys - ie: gang size via numbers involved, ships they fly and their kill/loss ratio + isk killed/lost. I wouldnt advise joining any of the Pet alliances and camping gates all day because you won't learn anything from it.

Get out of your comfortzone and try solo hunting for pvp. You'll learn a lot, really quickly also and become a better pilot from it.

Male or female.. all newcomers get the **** treatment so don't sweat it. I think sometimes we get scared of CCP changing the game to be more about instant gratification if plenty newcomers complain. I love that this game is so harsh. Since the true value of any accomplishment is the risk you took to get it. No concept of loss means little sense of achievement. That is truly what separates this game from most others.. High risk!! the bad side is does attract a certain kind of person.

For me Eve isnt about instant gratification and being able to fly a ship straight away and I hope it never becomes like that if it did I would certainly stop playing there are plenty of games that give instant hits and no risk Eve doesnt need to be one of them.

Personally I think there are more little things you can do with a tiny amount of time than with WOW, one of my main reasons for leaving wow was I felt I had to play all the time with constant raiding lasting hours and hours, whereas EVE I have never felt like that, missions market trading, pvp, manufacturing, research, inventing, hauling can all be done with small play time imo.

Missioning is really not all you can do if all I did was mission I wouldnt still be playing, so why not try some other things :)

I do understand the whole point about avatars and do agree that when WIS a lot more women may try the game lot more men too :), I am also looking forward to being able to walk about and not be in my pod all the time :)

 Hi,

grate you have decided to try out eve. I hope you find a reason to stay in eve and continue to play it. There will be many times while playing eve where you might not feel like playing and might quit, the good thing about eve is that you can take a time off or play other games and have a real life as well.

Unlike games like world of warecraft where you need to be rather active to keep up with the small amount of people you know and who are at your "level", eve is is a game where understanding of the game mechanics, tactics, politics, marketing etc etc is more relevant as "level"(skill-points), you can be a grate benefit to anyone if you know what you are doing.

Skillpoints come from nowhere, just train the little things first and continue with the bigger stuff when your little things are really good. Too many think bigger is better and rush to Battleships without being able to fly frigs properly.

You seem to be an determined gamer, if you intend to stay with eve i would gladly help you on your way and can explain most eve aspects and mathematics to you if you so wish, just send me an evemail, open a chat or talk to me via a voice chat tool whatever you wish.

 best regards
 Cap Tyrian

 Oh wow...

 Oh...wow...

At first your stupidity was well hidden (but I still called you out on it).

But now you've just gone and completely blown the lid on it.

Hmm... you didn't explain why girls down play Eve.

You pretty much explained why almost no one (relatively speaking) plays Eve.

Even I used to feel the same way.

It takes a special (read: Crazy + Patient) person to get into Eve, and while missions are a tool for getting into the game they are not THE game.

If you want any real hope of surviving in Eve, or sticking around period... Well you need to decide what you WANT to do, and find people who are like you.

It actually wasn't easy for me. It wasn't until I got all my real life friends to play that I found something that would engage and challenge us as a group, and now we run our own small, highly profitable wormhole corporation.

 So in short:

If you want to stick around in Eve - Find people like you and join them.

The game is not about doing missions, the real game is about doing things with against other players. Missioning is the one thing that more or less allows you to ignore everyone else in the world that that's what makes it bad (aside from it just being boring). Do anything, join a wormhole corp and try out living there, doesn't matter, just don't run missions that think that's the game. Wormholes aren't super interesting in an of themselves from a gameplay perspective, they become interesting as an arena for player interaction. In a wormhole you're not alone and there will be people out to get you. What arises from that is what EVE is about.

Wormholes are just one example of many though. It's the same in low-sec, 0.0, trading, production etc.

Change friends, join faction warfare or RvB and PvP now. PvE is pretty dull in this game.

Also I still wonder wtf does it got to do with being female.

If you like EVE, you like it, what junk you've got between your legs doesn't really matter.

I'm female myself, but I wouldn't say EVE isn't attractive to girls...I would say it isn't attractive to certain kinds of people.

I believe that women are more attracted to socially inviting atmospheres which usually exist in games that are a bit more casual. I really like when I hear women like you enter into the game. I think the MMOs like WOW act as a spring-board to get into games like EVE. As many people call EVE, it is the "Graduation MMO."
Anyway, if you ever need any advice or help, please message this name in game.

Its sad that so many people also sit here and say oo "girls go get me food or stay in the kitchen" its pathetic that society acts like that. Its also sad that people cant except peoples opinion. Good job for creating a movie. Even if people don't agree they should see that you put time into making a movie which means you care.

I personally don't think girls play because it is not socially excepted by society and even when we do we get jerks and people that want to be asses and make sexual stereotypes.

Bravo for stating your feelings. I wish more people would and not get harassed. Constructive criticism is fine and only helps.

so far eve hasn't been hard to understand or navigate. I like being new to a game. Learning new things and being surprised is one of the most rewarding things about starting up :) (for me at least)

AC was a massive pile of balls. Thats why it died.

Well, that and because they never fixed anything the players said was broken/imbalanced.

Also, about the WoW comments. I would hazzard a gues that WoW is your 'main' mmo, and you dabble in others. It comes across that way though your video and posts.

I'm also not entirely convinced this isnt just some way to get more youtube viewers/subscribers or just for attention.

Hi, EvE is what you make it, but most thing do require isk and skillpoints to some extent, both of which take time... it's a game for people that love a long term goal. Even us PvP'ers who are all in it for the instant pretty explosions are about the crazy long term in one way or another... i'm training for the Sleipnir now, and for me "only 3 months" seems like a pretty short term goal
Anyway, girl or boy the only way you'll have a chance of properly experiancing EvE is sticking with it for quite a while. I can see why this'd put new players off though the change in learning skills helped.
Also did you apply to join TSW / Rooks'n'Kings or was that a diff mintchip? Because you might be better served searching for player entities that cover the whole spectrum, instead of more niche groups. You'd probably find it quite boring here without having tried a lot of other stuff first
The discussion made us laugh though
 "Should we recruit this girl?"
 "can she pvp?"
 "no"
"well, maybe being able to pvp isn't that important... is she hot?"
 "she's kinda good looking"
"maybe we could recruit her then, is she UK/Euro?"
 "no"
 "ah, forget it then."

You say "Pre 1950's" like the problem was somehow "solved" in the 1950's be it in the U.S. or any other western country which is what I assumed you were talking about. In the western world this may be semi true, however many countries, especially some middle eastern ones, have a LONG way to go and definitely didn't see much change in the last 100 years, let alone the last 50.

Well, instead of taking what your corpies say as gospel for the game, or just relying on your own limited experience within the game, you could watch some of the videos in this section to see the pvp aspect of the game.

That being said, if pvp isn't your thing, then your only real option is to stick to empire and highsec, which sounds boring from my prespective.

7+ years and running, here is to another 7.

Yes I play WoW, I play a lot of different games. I don't see how I cannot play both and enjoy both.(Hint: I can) :X

I pretty much play video games in my free time. Eve is something that I've been interested in playing for a long time. I'm finally getting into it! HAZE ME HAZE ME! But in a few years I'll be a product of your guidance <3

 Welcome to Eve.

My advice is to join a player-run corp with some kind of pvp-related raison dĈetre as soon as possible.

The truth has always been that new players can contribute (and succeed) in PvP from day one. It will start off with you dieing horribly, but if you learn from the losses you are likely to become a competant pilot in no-time.

There are several ways to get started, but as stated earlier, the easiest method is to tackle hostiles in a frigate while working with a friendly gang. Your basic tech-1 frigates are cheap, expendable, and easy to get "skill capped" in.

Corporations you will want to consider are:

 1) Faction warfare corps. These are mildly reminiscent of Dark Ages of Camelot (think realm versus realm combat). You represent one of the 4 npc empires and kill members of the other militias. You can actually flip the control of certain systems from one empire to the other, but without the same kind of consequences that happen in 0.0 space sovereignty challenge. There are also faction-warfare-based missions that can be a nice replacement for the standard high-sec lvl 4's that new players tend to get overly focused on.

 2) Empire War Dec Specialists / Mercs. These groups go after everyone from groups of newbies to the biggest alliances in the game. All without ever leaving Jita, Amarr or Rens (the biggest market hubs). Imagine being in Dalaran and suddenly your guild can gank members of another guild due to a bribe paid to those greedy Kirin Tor guards. That's (sort-of) what they do.

 3) NPC-Owned 0.0 Space Inhabitants. Usually these are the least receptive to brand new players, since they have no space and thus care only about their combat stats, but some are open to training new players.

 4) 0.0 Sovereignty Holders. Corps that are members of large alliances and which focus on "empire building." 0.0 alliances have the largest-scale fights in the game, but often times the lag makes it nearly unplayable when two coalitions face off. These corps range from very picky to having nearly completely open-doors. This is a great way to start learning about "space politics" and all the fun stuff that surrounds it. Finally, some 0.0 entities have a "training corp" associated with their alliance that can be joined prior to moving into 0.0.

 5) Low-Sec Pirates. There are many tight-knit, small corps that just fly around looking for fights in lowsec and/or 0.0. Warning, this kind of activity leaves you unable to re-enter high sec space until you repair your reputation through grinding NPC pirates. Piracy means different things to different people but typically "pirate" corps spend a significant amount of time in low-sec, which is something of an intermediate step between high-sec and null-sec space.

 6) Dedicated "Training" Corps. The most notable is "Eve University" and they are good at what they do. Check them out for sure.

Whilst i think some of your points are valid, you missed a ma-ha-ha-hoosive portion of the game out. You only mentioned missions, and yes i know that's all you may have experienced, but there's nothing stopping you talking in local to people along the lines of "is missions all you can do in this game?". Trust me, you'll get a tonne of advice...with the occasional troll thrown in for good measure, and it would've allowed you to explain more of the features of this game: industry (mining, manufacturing - which you can then sub-categorise), trading (again sub categorize), exploration (yep, you guessed it) and not to mention what this game is primarily about: PvP ....no mention of these, really?

I may be being stereotypical here (but i play wow as well), but you seem to have brought the "wow-mentality" with you: quests, quests, quests. It's not like that here.

Another point you mentioned "instant gratification". You don't get or even expect that in wow, why would you expect it here?

Oh and yeah, eve has a steep learning curve.

So you have played this game for almost two months and have tried one corp for a week and are on your second corp this time in an alliance. Corps each have their own flavor and really are huge factor in the game but they are really what people make of them. If you do quit eve I would hope you make a closing video because when you made the first you had only been through what, the trial? If shooting other people is not your thing, market/trade pvp doesn't float your boat, becoming a producer of whatever, ... well there is always something out there.

Best part of the game is undocking and seeing what you can make explode. Find time for it no matter your skillpoints. The best part of eve that good fight between small gangs. The big super fleet fights sound like a good thing but really aren't what they are cracked up to be. And while the fights are a bit spread out when they do happen your blood should be pumping, unless you are just blobbing people.

eve is a sandbox, not a thempark, and most simply don't get that. there will never be anything for you to do. but you can go and do anything.

There is no game more social then eve. Yes most are backstabbing bastards, but that's as close as you can get to human sociology.

Last, and most important, ill tell you what I tell every new player. You have to try pvp, the rush, the adrenalin...to make a long story short, join rvb, learn, and move from there...or don't. Its a sandbox, do whatever you want

oh, almost forgot, welcome to eve

edit: to clarify, that's red versus blue. cheap pvp in frigs, and they will teach you how to do it.

gaaahh warning wall of text: tl;dr

Ok, first off, I'm trying hard not to troll, so if I slip into it, sorry. It just sort of happens. Two, this will be my very first eve post where I'm trying not to troll and so far, it is kind of difficult (can't use my posting alt because my rep would be ruined XD).

I'll give you some (unasked for) advice about talking on TS based on my experiences with females in a corp. Situation: Three females in the corp. Each posted pics of themselves in TS, all three were cute. Then the, 'listen to me I have boobies conversations' began. Then the alpha female fights began...I would log in and listen to the 'I have boobies, look I have BOOBIES pay attention to me' speech (obviously not so unsubtle as I am typing most of the time, but when 3 women start comparing breast size with 15 men on the same TS channel, during an op, well the op is about to fail, but at least it was a funny fail).

Then the fight for alpha female and the flirting began. Keep in mind 2 of the 3 females were not on the same continent as 90% of the corp, but the flirting's all in good fun, until the TS channel strictly becomes a yahoo adult chatroom. If I want to do adult chat, I'm sure I can use google to find it. I'm logging in to play serious (yes I used every letter XD) internet space ships...

To be honest, listening to the fighting over the alpha female "position" was kind of funny to me. There were a few times I almost felt like applauding for the subtle set ups that led to ego crushing cheap shots. I'm sure had they been men, there would have been a duel irl at some point. Then the females began trying to gather support from the men and influence them to not like the other girls. At this point, I called it a day with that corp and left. This was 3ish years ago and the corp fell apart a few months after I left Obviously my leaving had nothing to do with it falling apart (no matter how much my ego told me they couldn't survive without me), but because of the social dynamics that developed.

If you wonder why I ask about the number of females in a corp prior to joining, there it is. I've been playing games for about 15 years, and these experiences have been the norm either in a minor or major degree.

What do you get when you put 2 females in the same room?
 A friendship.
What do you get when you put 3 females in the same room?
 An argument.
What do you get when you put 4 females in the same room?
 A war.
What do you get when you put 5 females in the same room?
 Anarchy.
(an almost troll free thread which provides plenty of trolling opportunities)

there are some pretty epic haters in this thread.

you touched on some pretty interesting reasons why girls dont play eve online that much, it is a ****ing brutal mmo and takes ages to get anywhere in, both short term and long term.

i think the biggest reason girls dont play eve though is just the content... certainly this isnt blanket but in general sci fi will appeal a great deal more to males and fantasy will be more of a mix.

sure there are girls out there who like spaceships and warping, but there are far more that like unicorns and butterflies...

@Posting Alt101 that was an interesting read

I also think Mintchip wants to get some attention and she also admit it her self. The video is solid proof.

But I have to agree on some points she made in the video. I play EVE for 2 years and like it .... have no problems with it. It just happened today that I created a Trial account and played a bit. Well the tutorial is much better than it was in 2004 but still lacks a lot. So it tells you about the basics and tries to point you to industry, exploration or combat. And at the end it tells you that you learned all the basics and your good to go!! ...good to go...go where o_O ? Ah to the next mission agent ... err .. ok. I reached lvl 4 missions now what ? Just keep going ...lol. The combat path in the tutorial is rly stupid and simple (main choice of players). I also tried the exploration path. Now this is more interesting ....and a lot more confusing
So it tells you that space is big and shows you how to find stuff in this big space (scanning, probes, wormholes, signatures...) in the end you learn the basics and think what now ? You probably start scanning systems. I liked that I was not pointed to an agent but had the freedom to scan what and where I want. I never rly used the scanner in EVE. We have the autopilot so why do we need to scan stuff right ? I find a lot of dots... lets see whats hiding there. Ladar, Radar, gravimetrics ...unknown. Lets scan down the unknown dot. A nice little wormhole... I jump trough fly a bit in the WH system and then try to get back. Of course I forgot to bookmark the exit And while I was happy there scanning my way out I got poded. I emo raged at the guy for 5 min till he gave me 1 mill isk :D ...well he poded a trial account.... it's not like I was on my main and had my guns and ****. But the fun story is after I stopped raging about why he poded a newbie ship we had a nice conversation. He gave me a lot of advice and stuff.
Well the rest of the tutorial is the boring industry and trading part. Did I mention that I do the boring part for more that a year already? Is it rly so boring? For many yes but for some its the way to play EVE

You need to gather a lot of resources and part so you can build stuff which you later sell... well it does get rly complicated sometimes :D Some just don't see the joy in planing and calculating.

We also have this new PI thing. It's more like the EVE version of Farmwille. A lot of clicking and compared to battles it must look like the most boring thing in EVE. Until you figure it out and see that it gives 50 mil per day with not more that 20 min of clicking per day. Some say they got 150+ mil.

Ok so you can do a lot more that PVP in EVE ... hell some ppl don't even undock from stations. Just si there and make money

It's true that EVE is not about what you can do now but about what part you will play in the future in this big sandbox. But in reality you don't need to do missions and train skills for the next 2 months. I also can't tell you to go somewhere and have fun... how should I know what you like and what not. The best thing would probably be to try out every thing.

Maybe try out this PI thing: Link
 or maybe some scanning: Link
 watching TV while mining: Link
never done it but heard ninja salvaging is great: Link
Transporting stuff can be lucrative: Link
 kiling transports also: Link

Well some stuff to try out.

Oh and a must read story: Link

 Hi Mintchip

I'm a girl and I've been playing EVE for about 3 years now. I agree with your perspective to some extent.

I think a lot of the negative aspects you mention are regarding the new player experience as a whole (which sucks). A lot of people find the first month of EVE frustrating and confusing and stop playing EVE because of the steep learning curve.

There are many reasons not a lot of girls play EVE, and it's not just "because it takes forever to do anything". Women can be very patient!

I think it's more to do with the way females can or can't make: characters they can relate to and identify with; meaningful relationships; and build things that are personal and important to them and appreciated by others. I think women have an intrinsic need to make and be part of communities in RL and in games they play.

EVE does not accommodate to these needs in an obvious or instantaneous way, so a lot of female gamers are not drawn to it.

Having a body to walk around in (i.e Incarna) will undoubtedly draw more girls to EVE. Also, if one day EVE starts making more things customizable, that will appeal to women more as well. For example, if we can put our own identity and style on certain items ingame.

There's heaps of other things I could go on about, but it would start to become an essay.

Anyways, always nice to see another female gamer here, so I'm glad you introduced yourself.
We have a special ingame channel for female gamers in EVE to chat about all sorts of EVE and non-EVE related stuff. If you would like to join it, send me a mail and I'll give you details

 All the best o/

Now, Mintchip, dear, your opinions are all valid but it's something we all get used to, missions gets more fun later on, perhaps you should get multiple accounts considering how good women are at multitasking? That'll make it more interesting for you

By the way, one thing I noticed in this video, was how beautiful you are!

Your lips are so delicious, your teeth are perfect too, I could lick your lips, maybe some french kissing? too soon I guess lol, but anyway those features are very nice, but I also like your eyes, they're beautiful, when you look into camera it's like you're giving me puppy eyes without the sad part lol, but with a sexy part, so it's like really cute + beautiful + sexy at same time lol, it's really good, also your eye shadow thing is really nice, makes me just want 2 lick ur eye lids lol, your nose is cute too, i'd lick it but not inside of your nostrils sorry ( incase u had snot lol, but if u cleaned it + not have cold then I'd lick inside of them too fyi) , also like your ears, I could lick those too and play with them with my fingers, your hair is really cool too, licking hair is not my thing but i would run them through my fingers etc a lot lol, your shirt is really cool too! and it's obvious that u are pretty slim which is great, beauty + gamer is like the perfect combination in a woman, u r perfect

about my self, my character name might fool you, it implies i'm 14 but I'm actually 15, as it was my little brother that created this character you see, he quit the game and gave it to me, my name is Timothy, and I'm the leader of the alliance hydra reloaded, we came second in the last alliance tournament, would have been first but pandemic legion hacked ( google monkeysphere + python coding for more info on this ), pretty fuunny since ccp didn't notice but it was obvious, but we made many isk after the tournament, won over a trillion worth of stuff, my alliance was ok with me only giving them 300b, so I've kept the rest for my self, so I'm really rich now ( and I'm very generous, especially with pretty girls that have stolen my heart), my alliance is very good pvp, i have the finest warriors of eve online under my command, and we do training lessons and we reimburse all of our losses fully, so maybe you can join us ???

anyway hope to see you reply soon and I hope the fact that I'm 15 doesn't scare you, I'm very mature for my age

You're alienating yourself just by saying you're a female, because it just doesn't, and shouldn't matter.

If you're in any way serious about what you're saying, then i can tell you, that the way new character creation that's currently implemented is quite bad. But, if you like a WoW analogy, you don't really go PvP when you're level 1, do you?

I've made alot of accounts, i started an exploration career and cruised around Amarr space in an Imicus and made for a PLEX to activate my trial, it's possible and you can start doing it after a day worth of training, later you just improve.

I've done PvP with characters that are few days old, that just got their basic skills in. One of my trash accounts was Koryo Torath, the kills are bad, but then it's what i was aiming for with my low SP, there's just IMHO about alot more skill involvement out of game (being able to pick the right targets in this case), your in-game SP doesn't matter all that much. The first kill was after like 11 days or so, but that's because i didn't have time to play, the skills you need, you can get after 3 or 4 days after creating your character.

And i don't see a problem with waiting a few days, the content in any other game doesn't open fast either, same for WoW, unless you have nothing else to do, but to spend 10 hours a day climbing some artificial ladder, but in EVE, once you train some basic skills, you can go anywhere you want, do anything you want, the game world is so much more open.

 Hello Mintchip,

I too am a female playing Eve-O (check it, Laedy and I are in the same corp too!), and I found your video interesting. I've been playing Eve for almost exactly a year now (just turned 1 on the 3rd :D), and am still finding the game fun and full of friends and targets.

However, your introduction to the game is a vast contrast to mine - I started out pretty much nubcaking around and diving straight into Ninja Salvaging because it was the fun thing to do as a newbie (not to mention before the mission loot nerf it was also exceedingly profitable!). Didn't really learn much about the game until weeks later. Was a pretty steep learning curve for me. I found missioning a necessary boredom (due to my dislike of wormholes and not having the balls - haha - to head into 0.0 space and rat) to fuel my type of gameplay - namely pvp.

You've received enough feedback about how eve isn't just about running missions - are you taking a crack at the pvp then? If you don't know where to start, or the people who have introduced you to the game aren't into that sort of thing (but you are interested), try looking around.

Hell, throw me a convo in-game if you see me on (That is, if you can spell my name). If I'm in the area you are, I'll be happy to see if I can grab a ship and take you on the journey of pewpew--- I MEAN enlightenment, yeah...

Cheers and hope to see you 'round!

Hydra members are NOT permitted 2 be so angry, you're dragging our name down intigo and this is ur final straw, you've been kicked from the alliance

Now, Mintchip, dear, your opinions are all valid but it's something we all get used to, missions gets more fun later on, perhaps you should get multiple accounts considering how good women are at multitasking? That'll make it more interesting for you

By the way, one thing I noticed in this video, was how beautiful you are!

about my self, my character name might fool you, it implies i'm 14 but I'm actually 15, as it was my little brother that created this character you see, he quit the game and gave it to me, my name is Timothy, and I'm the leader of the alliance hydra reloaded, we came second in the last alliance tournament, would have been first but pandemic legion hacked ( google monkeysphere + python coding for more info on this ), pretty fuunny since ccp didn't notice but it was obvious, but we made many isk after the tournament, won over a trillion worth of stuff, my alliance was ok with me only giving them 300b, so I've kept the rest for my self, so I'm really rich now ( and I'm very generous, especially with pretty girls that have stolen my heart), my alliance is very good pvp, i have the finest warriors of eve online under my command, and we do training lessons and we reimburse all of our losses fully, so maybe you can join us ???

anyway hope to see you reply soon and I hope the fact that I'm 15 doesn't scare you, I'm very mature for my age

75% of replies are from people who clearly wear their own arse as a hat. Props to the OP for enduring that.

Right or wrong (and for the record, most of what Mintchip said in the video is indeed wrong) this is very often the impression that new players (male and female) are left with. We can either help them to correct those misconceptions, or we can howl them down and drive them away as most of you seem to delight in.

More players = more targets = more money for CCP = more internet spaceship awesomeness. Put your effing e-peens away or I'll turn this damn car around and we'll go STRAIGHT HOME.

Mint, you're either the bravest person i've ever met, or the craziest, because you don't seem dumb.

first, you made a youtube video using your screen name, second, you made your main with the same name, third, you put up a post here.

being female is secondary to voicing an opinion (any at all) on so many widely frequented channels, and then not covering your tracks by using an alias.

i try to not distinguish between male and female players, because to acknowledge anything more than basic biological needs does not really contribute to much of anything.

i would like to see more female players, but no more than i'd like to have more male players. all i really want is more demand for my products, the gender of the purchaser is no concern to me.

if you made another youtube video about three months in, your veiw of eve will be extremly different. another three months will see another difference.

in defence of the long newbie introdction to the game, this game allows permanent ship loss. permantnt equipment loss. even skill loss! having a few days before the newbies can actually begin to earn real isk, or fly amazing ships, makes them develope some skill. in theory.

in this game, if you screw up bad. maybe losing a pos full of your stuff after the outpost where your clone was was taken over, it is entirly possible to lose just about everything and have to start over with just the skills in your head and a noobship.

one time i did give all my isk from my main to my alt to try to see exactly how bad it would be to rat back up to a slasher and then do enough missions to get into the isk for a cruiser, and it was HARD, and it took several days.

rambly post closing. gender shouldnt be a factor in who we want to jon eve, and you're crazy in a good way.

p.s., nice hat! is that an amarrian character, because it might be fun to have another posting alt with that hat!

Im looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (thats japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 2 or more kotoba (thats japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i dont want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)

dual tiered, chopsticks, holder, and has a divider. No description of material or place of manufacture.

large pic looks pink, small pic red? either way dual tiered, chopsticks, holder and has a divider.

No kotoba needed, just send me all of your alliance's isk and put the ships in Jita on private contract for free to me and I will mail either to you. XD

EVE is the only MMO where I can play occasionally and still have fun. No grind, no leveling requirements.
I play every now and then, an hour or two to several hours, often with several months away from the game in between.
I'm a horrible eve pilot but can still do some good in gang and fleet PVP. If there is absolutely no pvp action going on I can always run a mission or do some trading. But come on, you can always go on solo roams if you are the only one in your corp in the region.

Mostly PVP, some missions, some trading. Fly cheap crap and die often. The occasional loot from the rare victories will keep your wallet afloat. I currently have a buffer where I can take around 100 deaths before I need another victory. Don't let your ego get in the way of having fun.

EVE is all about the social part. The Corps!
Find a fun pvp-oriented corp that allows sporadic gamers. Don't bother whether you sit in the shiny new t3 cruiser or the oldest frig rustbucket as long as you have fun with your new internet friends.

Really: EVE is the best casual gaming MMO.
It can be a second job if you want it to be, but it doesn't have to be like that. In 2010 I probably played EVE less than 50 hours, but managed to die several times, had lots of PVP gang and fleet warfare, and lots of fun.

From someone who does wear his arse as a hat. Eve is a pain in the ass/arse. So I must be an arse to keep paying every month something the drives me mad. Its so boring its addictive. Its so hard to figure out I can't stop playing with it. What makes it special is that it is a serious, serious game. I've heard that some economics professor somewhere makes his MBA students play. Thats how absurdly absurd this game is. So I play cause I'm demented and wear my arse as hat. A floppy hat at that.

Hello there Mintchip! I suppose many females play EVE Online but many also play male characters. I would never have heard of EVE if it wasn't for a female friend of mine. And no she does not live alone with her 99 cats. There are plenty of normal females who play the game.

To be honest, your a *you tube* wanna be celeb. You've spent most of ur life playing MMO's where its great reward and little risk.

Look at ur vid? All pretty make up on, brushing your hair back. My wife only does then when she wants me to screw her to the wall.

EvE is a harsh eviorment. Either you fit in and adapt, or you gtfo. Ive seen your vids before, i know who you are and you think if you get enuff vid hits ull get famous.

Welcome to EvE, a mans game, it aint for girls, simply for one reason, PMS dont fit into eve online.

 Thanks for your time.

Oh and i play WoW, Aion, Dungeon Siege, and EvE online is by FAR the better game, because on this game, u wanna get sumwhere? Put the effort and time in. In WoW you've got your pretty little epic mounts and armor sets, ur pink enchants, ur pink guild tabards.

And im not sexist, my wife is a huge gamer with me once the kids are in bed. And even she hates EvE, but she loves WoW, Aion and so on.

Whatever you believe doesn't matter, its a scientific fact that women and men have subtle psychological differences as well as the physical differences, it would be ridiculous to assume men cannot enjoy the same activities as women and vice versa or ever claim something is for men and something else is for women but it does colour the the individual response to stimuli in ways we only have a basic understanding of.

So yes she has a valid point about the way gender affects the perception of video games.

Thank you for all your posts! I get a lot of mails and posts that are Actually VERY helpful in my endevours. I appreciate them to no end.

Also, No worries I ignore the trolls on the forums, because it's dumb and hypocritical to ask me to learn more about the game before i form an opinion and then the next second tell me what they think of me and who I am; when I know for CERTAIN no one here knows me at all. :)

Honestly, my opinion of Eve is consistently changing. I love it, I hate it, I enjoy the ride. I will keep those who are interested updated on that - and those who are not - not.

I game with 5 other females - and most of my friends in games are female. And anyone who has talked to me in game can tell you - I'm not very chit-chatty. I ask questions about eve, I read about eve. And I chat about eve before afking from chat to do my in-game eve stuff. If you msg me in game - I will respond, but I love advice more than anything :)

Who ever told you to post this should know better...
 FAIL!

I have been playing eve since 2005, and yes, I'm a female player... so what you say is a bunch of ****, if you ask me.
You don't JUST have to run missions or kill someone in a gang..
You can trade, mine, kill ppl and so on, on your own.
And it's not just to use a ship, you need to know HOW to use it too...
You say you need over 300 days to sit in a titan... What about how to know how use it??

And another thing.. You say you do this to get "girls to play"... why do anyone want to play this game, after seeing you in this video?

I have to agree with "Jillaye" (on youtube): Girl "gamers" like these annoy me so much. Just shut the **** up

And showing WoW in the beginning of this ****... FAIL!!!

I'm really sorry that you missed my point about the Titan. I was saying that "sitting" in a titan is not the same as flying it well. Pretty standard terminology. So I think we agree on that mark.

I don't see how my playing this game should have ANY INFLUENCE on anyone else playing the game. I'm aware I'm a ridiculous person - but I doubt I have enough power to actually stop someone from playing a game. If I were somehow able to do that - I think it would be more of a character flaw of the victim if anything. :P

Either way, I am definitely a gamer. I've played FPS, RTS, and many indie games as I've been growing up. Just because I started playing eve - doesn't mean I just started gaming. :S Although - that might be the term :)

This is just someone else not "getting" eve - male/female doesnt really factor into it. This post is not meant as a flame, just explaining why I consider most of the OP's vid to be wrong - she's not looking at things the right way.

for your wow vs eve compairsion, I find that there is an infinite amount of things you can do in eve while WoW was boringly repetitive.

 In Wow, there is:
 Farming (timesink)
 Dailies (See farming)
a couple BG's for honor (see farming)
 a couple arena's (for arena points/rating farming)
 a couple raids (see farming)
Gathering mats for crafting (see farming)
and finally, the joy of the next expansion invalidating EVERYTHING youve done for the last year.

 In eve, there is:
 Missions
 Research
 Manufacture
 Mining
 Marketing
 Hauling
 Scouting
 Pos
 PI
 Courier
 Fitting
 Diplomacy
 Politics
 Dozens of ways to PVP
 Scouting
 Intelligence (in the military sense)
 Wormholes
 Anomalies
 Complex's
 R&D
...and the list goes on - and I almost NEVER feel like im grinding for no purpose like I did in WoW. Anything you gain in Eve is perfectly useful year after year, and if you loose it its your own fault and part of the game (in fact, the ability to inflict losses what what first caught my attention about eve)

Ive heard the "Impersonal" argument a few times before as well. Hard to relate to a ship? (I think many sailors back on ancient earth would take offense at that comment) Possibly so, yet knowing the same people for years on end in EvE, or understanding the ongoing plots, plots that thousands of PLAYERS get involved with in an active way (Karishal Muritor plotline, for example?) rather than simply watching a pre-determined script. Your reputation in EVE preceeds you anywhere you go - If youve existed actively for a year or more, most major alliances will be able to dig up your past. You can call on old freinds for help - or be sure of the hatred a certain hostile has held against you for years.

Wow was much more "impersonal" than eve - your just another faceless RaceClassSpec with TeirX Gear in the BG that your enemies cant talk to and your allies wont bother to get to know fighting a predetermined unwinnable war against people simply because they rolled a diffrent race than you. In eve, when I shoot someone, I have a made a choice, based on a reason, to do so - and I know if I hit them hard enough for long enough, the war can be WON.

In Eve, your char can do anything you decide to do. In wow, you have ONE skillset. With a slight variation with the amazing introduction of having 2 spec's saved. In Eve, I have 50 fit ships in my hanger filling over a dozen roles - even a couple ships tailor built to overcome certain opponents.

When your a veteren in eve, people know you and what you stand for, and you've earned peoples trust and respect. Skillpoints matter to some degree, but vastly more important is the player behind the toon.
When your a veteren in WoW, people still dont care about you. If anything, they whine at how unfair it is that you have better gear than them, or that your class is OP. They never stop to even consider the player behind the toon.

 Which is truly more impersonal?

I agree, I think eve is what you make of it. I also believe that's how it is with all video games. It's what you make of it. Wow or Eve alike. Both can be very enjoyable.

After playing eve a while now - and learning more. I still agree with myself for the most part. My terminology is a little off but - I'm trying to stay objective. I know a lot of people in eve can see the differences. Without it being "oh if you say these things are different from wow - you must be insulting eve!" - which is silly.

The main reason that ppl play EVE is that it is more realistic in certain situations than in WOW(like your ship was destroyed), I think you mentioned that in one of your youtube videos. Sandbox and supermultional functionality gives you the opportunity to have very big amount of play style. So girls :D, take some Jack daniels (my fav.), sit down, train hulk and relax :DDD.

I really don't think you approached this video in the right way. There's grinding in every MMO. There's grinding in pokemon, for god's sake.

I saw other people mention on your youtube comments area that Titan's are ships that corporations use, and even then only rarely. This is a fair point. What the hell is an individual going to want with a titan? Why did you set your goal so high in the first place? Why didn't you think of moving up through the ranks and the good thing that each new ship brings the character rather than attempting to power-level your way to the biggest ship? Really, your scope was incredibly limited, 'only run missions'? The tutorial might not spoon feed you everything there is to do, but that doesn't mean you can say that the game is *only* running missions. You should have done a bit more looking into what the game has to offer (Here on the forums would've been a good place) before you made that video, because it makes you look like you played the game for a week and got sick of it.

It's just not a very well thought-out video.

So basically, you're trying to seek attention by making a video about you being a girl that plays EVE. Cool story is best story.

I guess being a girl is handy in a game like EVE, where guys will trip over themselves to help an "RL girl". Personally, I don't really care for your gender. If a male posted this sort of thread, it wouldn't have got any serious attention and he would have been laughed out of EVE.

So, basically you only got help because of what is between your legs.

Also, your character portrait makes mine look sexy.

tl;dr version: This smells of "I'm a girl, look at me and give me stuff *teeheeheegiggle*".

lol I just hoovered and now IĈm off to make cookies +_+

Most mmos are still dominated by men and most sci-fi types of thing are more popular with guys than with girls, so it's no surprise that more guys play Eve than girls. It's just simple math really. And for all the women that try Eve and don't "get it" or cannot cope without a constant instant-gratification type of gaming there are a lot more men who go through the same thing.

Also the "5% of the player base is female" figure that is bandied about a lot is VERY out of date and inaccurate. For example, CCP has no way of knowing that I am female. My account info lists me as male. My other half set-up and paid for my account in an effort to entice me away from other mmos and get me into Eve. It worked, but my account still lists me as male. I suspect there might be similar miss-information for other people's wives/girlfriends/sisters/(mothers?!) especially where the male party is paying for the account.

I really enjoyed reading this post on freebooted about his attempts at getting his sister to play eve: http://freebooted.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-sister-rookie-trial-period-part-one.html

There is always someone that aggroess everyone and there is always who will aggro back at him. =)
2 Mintchip: get a good home, the EVE is very big and there are many opportunities here, but most of the Good times makes people around you and it's very important to find ones that will be friendly.
2 Etro Tanar: maan, if you don't care about the gender, go make your hand happy, Yes, men will help her because of the thing under her legs, what do you care about? :DDD you're so interested in this topic lol that you aggro everyone here :DDDDDD, go farm some isk!

Forget the freakn oppinions, everyone is expressing feelings in the way that he wants, someone has big balls on killboard, some of them can say ( I have 94 chars and 45 titans buhaha!)... But some make videos to gain some help, advice, info, friends, whatever.

That's silly... the only thing is that we have the sandbox =), we are all together!

I agree with you, comparing wow to eve is a hard thing to do because they ARE such different games. Genre aside they /are/ both successful mmos. I think there are things in wow that are very attractive to a certain player base, same with eve respectively. Fortunately, I play both games. Getting angry about that seems painfully counter productive. You can hate me for what I said, but that doesn't mean my opinion isn't changing and reforming as things go on.

I am just one person. I am not special (aside from how awesome I am :P ) and my opinions are as valuable as the next persons. You have your opinion and you are entitled to it.

Don't get this the wrong way mintchip, Im not flaming you or your video(s) but I feel this needs to be said. It's always nice to hear an opinion, especially from wow players who try to interact with the community and don't spout out crap that may have remotely applied to EVE like 5 years back.

 Anyway:
This is EVE Online and we the people of the EVE community pride ourselves on a long history of harsh and unforgiving 'do not care' attitudes. This alongside our levelheadedness and clarity of vision regarding what we want from this game and its players. If you want less trolling and more talk and stop having nearly every member of this community ****ting down your threads then I'll share some friendly advice: please stop posting your videoblog entries in the MYEVE forum, especially with a new thread every so ofthen.

Now back ontopic, if you wish to impress anyone please dont edit your vids to cut halfway through every 10th word. Because I simply fail to see the point of your videos so far, it's not a review and judging from your first video(before you edited it) you obviously did not do your research. People are calling you an attention-you-know-what because quite frankly you're not even trying.

Welcome to EVE, don't forget to upgrade your clone.

EVE is like the "Fisherman's Friend" of MMOs. If it's too hard, you are too weak.

This was gonna be in the other post but whatever:

Im a Swedish guy who's been playing EVE and WOW on and off since 2004. I may not be some epic eCeleb but I know both games inside out. Every single class in wow. Every single ship in EVE.

WOW and EVE are similar in many ways, but Im sure you'll find EVE to be alot more social and consequental. With that comes the most over the top ingame drama and hate you will find anywhere in the world of MMO's which in itself, is a charm. If you want to make some contributions to the community you'll find it to be rewarding, as I can't think of a single game which has a player like Chribba in its community.
EVE is like the "Fisherman's Friend" of MMOs. If it's too hard, you are too weak.

You really do prove how dense you are when you're making constant. CONSTANT. CONSTANT comparisons to WoW. It ISN'T WoW, now if you don't like it, take your saggy ass back to World of Walking and leave EVE to the grown ups.

I think the main problem that people might have with you (it seems a common occurance, looking at your previous videos aimed at WoW as well) is that your videos essentially sum up to "Hi, I'm a female and I play games. I am totally cool purely because of the fact that I'm a female that play games and as such, you should like me and think I'm cool too.". I can only see one attainable goal from such a video, getting free stuff from guys in the game. This may be further undertaken via in game flirting, raunchy pics and hot talk over MSN. In exchange for such, men are often willing to part with items and/or in game money.

Basically you're just partaking in one of the oldest professions in Human history.

Of course, if your videos had something meaningful and actually talked about the game itself and what you enjoy in it aside from "I R GIRL AND I GAME." I'd have different things to say. Sadly however, they're basically there to grab attention and e-fame/infamy be using what may (or may not be, jury's still out on that one I think) between your legs. Why you made such videos and bothered to put them up is beyond me.

PS. If I don't like it, I'm going to damn well say I don't like it and say why I don't like it. You're a grown up, if you can't take criticism, high school is back that way. By the way, just WHAT were you thinking with that portrait? I mean, duck bill lips? Really now.

As a woman, I don't care that "girls" play Eve. There are a lot more women that play Eve than you'd think, we just don't announce it because it usually ends up with a bunch of drooling, leg humping basement dwellers who's only real experience with the opposite sex is their mother. I suppose go you if you're proud of being a "girl" (big difference between a woman and a girl, sweetheart) and you play Eve, but don't kid yourself when guys help you out. They're only doing it because of the two things on your chest and that bit between your legs (you know, blood comes out of it sometimes, not sure if you've hit that age yet). But, after googling around and seeing more videos that are essentially exactly the same for other games made by you, you're probably pretty well aware of what it is you're doing and just lurrrrve all the attention from the lonely boys on here.

I would, however, suggest you read the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki?search=Histrionic+personality+disorder

A major point of my post is that you're not awesome. You're remarkably plain. You're nothing special to look at and you haven't even got enough brains to make a decent character, because it looks like it got stuck somewhere between a bad plastic surgeon and myspace. Furthermore, your insufficient brain use shows because couldn't even figure out the mechanics of the game by yourself, and your video looks like you were playing EVE for all of an hour before you made up your mind of why girls apparently don't play this game. Congrats that you've got loads of guys in the game willing to bend over backwards and hand their stuff over just because of your meat sandwhich, but what the hell does this have to do with the game? What does your gender or anyone elses, for that matter, have to do with the game?

 Bugger all.

wat the **** did I just read, did I honestly just read all of that, at 1 point in eve, trolls were actually fun, and they actually posted on their mains, I miss Ginger magican so much

You know, every time you'd read one of his posts, you would cringe, get enraged, and laughed at the same time, the only thing you two achieved here was zzzzzzzzz
, maybe you had other intentions, maybe you woke up and you were like, OK ITS TIME TO BE ALPHA MALE, NO I WONT GO LIFT SOME WEIGHTS AND SAVE SOME HOT CHICKS FROM A FIRE, I WILL ACHIEVE THIS BY WRITING TL;DRs ABOUT SOME CHICK THAT IS SECURE ENOUGH TO POST VIDYAS, and then you ruined it all by posting on noob alts, so you're still beta, but I think you're gamma because what you consider to be alpha is actually beta imo
On one side, you're a guy pretending to be a chiko to get credibility that a female would hate another chika. Or you're infact a chike ACTUALLY ATTACKING ANOTHER FEMALE ON THE INTERNET. idk which is sadder tbh, dont you have a bros b4 hoes code of honour or something

Flipping out over chickas on the internet isn't gaining you many credibility points, hence the alt posting I assume, but did I just lose game by replying 2 this???? by attacking your boring tl;drs I've created my own boring tl;dr, **** man I think I just lost the game, ****

I really don't understand how other Women are getting upset by this. If Mintchip is enjoying what she is doing, what's the problem? I found her videos fairly boring, stopped watching it, closed it, and that was the end of that, but if she likes doing them, and people who subscribe to her channel enjoy watching them, I don't see how it effects you in anyway.

She might be doing it to get attention from the male players, but really, what does it matter. I'm looking to play a game and blow people up, not to hook up with other players. If people hit on me because I'm a woman I block or ignore them, if she wants to flirt with those kind of men for internet spaceship money or e-fame, thats her prerogative.

Good job Mintchip! I agree that all women and gurls out there are airheads that want instant gratification, lol, and I totally agree that we need less controlls in EVE. WASD and the right button would suffice. And whats up with all the skills? I wanna sit in mah Titan and blow up dudes mah first week in EVE.

And totally, I want more earings, bracelets, clothes and pink ponies in EVE. I just want an avatar that has long blonde hair that I can comb and put up in ponytails and braids. And nail polish, that's very important.

 *cough*

Altough, a pink Nyx would be awesome, but please, for your next video, please don't pretend you KNOW why other girls/women don't play EVE. OK? Having your own character with 100 different dresses maybe is something a teen girl would like, or girls that have Sims or Second World as their favourite game. Maybe you're an airhead that want's to braid ponytails and change shoes ten times a day, but please, don't insult the rest of us.

(Yes yes, forum trolls, bash my English, but only if I can bash your swedish)

 Bugger all.

If she can generate this much rage just from posting a video, we should get her into PL.

Then you guys can add haxor, cheat and scum to your angry posts when a mintchip piloted mach bumps a supercap out the shields with the pos password.

Props to you, although people giving you billions of isk really doesn't give you any sort of experience as to what EVE really is. Losing your first Maller to a gank squad that you worked so hard to get cannot be appreciated when you are just given everything in the game. Katcaeks Is right, and a very smart individual. Keep working kiddo, you'll figure it out one day, I won't give up on you.
PS: take down your youtube vid, it makes me stupid just trying to watch the first 30 seconds of it. I just threw up a little.

 Pure Comedy.

A girl, thats openly admitted she is in fact a newbie, and is stalwartly determined to play EvE regardless as to what anyone at all has to say about it, got all the trolls in an uproar. Funnier even, how most of the people posting in protest to her finding fun in the game, are the same group of people that criticize everyone else on how they choose to play.

Who cares about a billion ISK? To some of you thats a goal, to others its a ship. Get over yourselves; most of you 'don't play the game' you expect of others to play anyway; You fools will rebel to anything.

Well first of all, I'm a girl too. I'm playing almost 6 months now. I really have to say that I did try MANY MMOs and MMORPGs over the years and never stayed for more then a month. every game [including WOW] got boring and time consuming with no actuall setisfaction in any way.
EVE is diffrent. I'm a student and I also work, I dont have much time playing games except now and then. eve is perfect for people like me, you set a skill and go do your own buisness in life, come back when you know your skill is going to finish and put another one and so on. when you have the time, you sit around and do whatever you wanted to do in the game, missions, mining, pvps, industry, PI, market or whatever.
I actually only do missioning and enjoy it very much, sometimes I do higer lvl missions with my corp friends. that actuallyh helped me VERY much, I think if you want to really enjoy eve and understand it, you have to have a good corp that become your friends very fast. in eve you can find adult people and not a lot of whiny kids [they go play wow cuz its the best invirment for them to be asses as thy mostly are].
as for wow and its kind... THAT is time consuming for heavens sakes, to lvl up you need to spend so much time on slashing and dicing stuff and getting xps... blah, BORING.

as for the point that girls play much less eve then men is for one because the diffrent between them. men are more a strategic kind and women more comunicative. this means women will go play more avatar based games like second life that men mostly wont like that much [mmm xcept the sexual themes there :P] and women play much less games with battles and strategic moves that FPS also use, and the adrenaline that we all know that men enjoy it more them women, that is, games that pump your adrenaline higher [even for a bit].
its just the diffrence. all this does not mean that there are no girls on EVE or FPS or anything, it means we are much less percentage then male gamers.
and there is nothing wrong with that, I myself love shooting some zombies every now and then in L4D2 :P you shouldnt exclude anything. its just men love toys more then women

a good advice will be, find a friendly corp that helps you, and there are a lot of thoes. better luck in small corps where you wont get lost in the mass. talk to them, mission with them, pvp with them or whatever. it will be so worth it, trust me. the game will become something much better and greater. and if you like role playing, there are role player corps around too that do rp also in the forums. eve is endless, and the beauty of it is that you learn a new thing every day you are playing, its a game that evolves and its good that you cannot just jump into the prettiest ship you like, it will just roune the whole game for you, exacly as it will if you buy PLEX just for the isks and then be rich... and then... boring. you lost the point of the game. work for your cash, wait for your skills and enjoy the sweet tast of the new pretty ship you can now fly and afford, then learn how to use it the best you can, learn more skills, upgrade your fittings and so on. just like in real life you need to work and study and then you will be rewarded.

THAT is the beauty of EVE.
 enjoy

[p.s. sorry about the spelling, obviusly I suck in ENGRISH

I honestly didn't realise that you were an alt posting ***got sperging hate for someone daring to express themselves in a video.

Maybe the fact you chose to post on an alt says more about you than the op. You use some strange words, like noggin and kiddo, so I'm going to guess that you live in some backwater town and don't meet many people. Not only does mintchip have more kills than you, she also has more balls, post with your main if you are not too embarrassed now.

tl/dr, I knew you were an alt you idiot.

lol, you are pretty persistent and I admire that. Clearly though, you had no idea or else you wouldn't have wasted your breath bring up the characters lack of kills. To me, this certainly raises the question as to how many standard deviations below the mean your IQ actually is. Resorting to "you must be from a backwater town" just tells me that you're a WOW player trying to integrate yourself into the eve population. Failed. As for Mintchip, I don't dislike her nor am I against the fact that she likes to express herself via video format. That being said, there are some things that I clearly disagree with- Mostly, the way that she presents herself in that media shows that she has an overbearing need to gain Efame, or low sef-respect for doing it in the matter that she did. In addition to that, I'm glad she plays eve. Theres more than enough room for everyone to play the game...and at least I can say that I respect her for giving it a shot. You, on the other end of the spectrum, are not worth my time arguiing over because you clearly can't comprehend the subject matter. Do yourself a favor and stop posting on forums that require abstract thought, Kiddo.

woumans should be handeled with care even if you shoot at and/or snukkle em .. their rage button is way bigger :) well atleast
the womans that arent in the military and even then ... shes got a loaded gun .. tread lightly - thou sometimes they wanna
enjoy it like every douch out there that gets drunk and enjoys herbal cigarets that play eve so its up to you if you can step out and just let them be one of the scumbags that we all are:P

in eve anything is possible .. 1 guy stealing bils , 1 guy loosing his brutix that he earned all this time doing lvl 1s

 why the drama :P

in all probability you could be a wife beater and could have employed specifically women to sexually harass.

"trust me guys... i know women... im not a sexist" is not really convinsing anyone. if you care to heed your own advise i would suggest you lie low for your own good, because where mintchip does not profess to know better than anyone else nor is she trying to put anyone down by doing this, you have come out here and targeted her, based i imagine on her appearance / gender, and decided to try drag her through the mud for no real reason.

if you have such a problem with attention seeking behaviour you have demonstrated your own craving for attention and your inability to deprive people of what you think they are after. if it was your goal to convinse anyone not to pay attention to "this silly little girl" then sir you have not only revealed yourself a biggot! but also an idiot.

 You following a pattern here?

 1. Cyvok was also the first person to own a titan.
 2. He had to have conquered those regions before he could "loose" [sic] them, right?

So your "pattern" is that self-promotion leads to things like being the first to own a titan and being an internet spaceship conquistador. Can I sign up for this?

sure it might be easier to link something totaly irrelevant and not particularly funny/embarassing to make a point.

or you could actually make it.

(dont get me wrong... if the guy actually got mad, it would have been pro... but the entire thing was him just saying "lol go ahead put it on caod you are 18" which didnt really tickle me) thankfully it was saved by COMING AT YOU WITH FULL FORCE!

if people give you the isk then there is no thrill in pvp. If you made the isk yourself, and that ship actually has value to you, that adds the thrill, and that is what makes pvp so awesome.

If someone gives you the isk, you take the death penalty away...and pvp without a death penalty is pointless...

To me getting a billion isk for your feminine wiles is no different than scamming someone a CNR for a misnamed raven. That said, nothing was ever just given to me. I had to fight for it.

Came across your "Why Girls Don't Play Eve" Vlog by chance on youtube and recognized your name from the Eve Beauty Pageant 2011 chat room we were both in a couple weeks ago. I'd say its pretty spot on. And I'm sure the common "Make me a sammich" and "omg ur a gurl?!?" comments from people don't help things either.

I'm a die hard fan of Gallente but also recognize their weapon system is the worst in the game right now. I would suggest to cross train to Amarr or roll the dice and hope CCP buffs Gallente to be in line with the other races soon.

You could have all the best PvPers in the game talk your ear off for a year straight about game mechanics but nothing and I mean nothing will get you to a respectable level of Pvping like doing it. When I say doing PvP I don't mean for like an hour or two a week. You need to dive in, embrace it, and do an absolute **** ton of it.

You got a lot of ISK right now so budgeting is what you should do. For now I would suggest to stick to T1 cruisers and battle cruisers. Train up to be able to T2 fit them and any related skills to make the ship and the modules better. Do not train up to be a jack of all trades as in, "I can fly every ship in the game look at me!" Be a master of some instead.

Pandemic Legion is good but for being shown the ropes of the game I would have gone with EVE University. Then again I could be wrong. Kinda sucks no one showed you how to broadcast. Also hop on SiSi server to test things out. It is a test server and everything cost 100 ISK. It is of course no substitute for real PvP on Tranquility server.

I am not saying give up on your other games but I suggest to give the other games a one month break and just play EVE. You will become vastly more knowledgeable about serious internet spaceship combat quicker than at a rate of an hour or two a week forgetting what you learned from your last session a week ago.

As far as your hair goes, um... its different. vOv

Why is it so hard for guys to accept that yea some girls like to play Eve I mean come on, yea I used to hate eve it sucked but it has gotten a lot better. yes I'm a girl and yes I like eve it is pretty fun and kool to build up my ship to blow some of you boys that are annoying out of the Universe Not fond of boys that try and come on to me right when they first meet me but am willing to get to know some of you so Don't try it, that will be your first Mistake. try and be my friend first ^_^ I will be happy to be friends. anyways ya I do enjoy adventure games and MMOs and Honestly I have some girl friends that are on Eve as well so maybe theres more that want to explore than you know.

Pointless is a very strong word, and i don't think everyone would see it that way. One of the things i like about eve is that the choices you make have consequences, and a very big part of that has to do with the amount of isk you have available.

I tryed eve the first time a little over a half year ago, and i made around 1B the first 3 weeks i played doing salvage for some friends. That kinda killed the game for me and i stopped playing after 1 months or so, once you start to think getting pod killed is not that bad because it saves to the trip back to the station, thats when eve starts to get boring really fast.

We don't all play eve for the same reasons, i like working for the items i get, i like using fitting tool to find a setup i really like and then working towards that goal. I lost my dominix yesterday which i had used over 1B on fitting, the first thing i was thinking was "i've lost everything, i'm quitting eve" and logged off. After some hours of minecraft thinking through the different things i could have done to save my ship, i came to the conclusion i deserved to lose it fore being that stupid.

Now i'm back in the game running missions trying to get back what i've lost, and one expensive experince richer. If eve did'nt have the risk of your dreams blowing up right in front of you, i don't think i would be playing the game, and that has alot to do with the amount of isk you have.

You know that 190bil is from El'tar/Garmon, he was in a tournament, you might have heard of it, he came second place. Prize was 50 unique ships, they were worth a lot of isk. He gave it to someone (while a little drunk)
