Do an Incursion and put the feeling you get from it into a picture.
Heehee, I used the pinched look I get every time some nullbear whinges about 1 vs 1 PVP.

I'd say, use the random generator (a lot), and then go from one of the characters you like. It's much easier to fine-tune an assembled toon than to create one from scratch.
Hair, unlike stated in one of the earlier posts, is a major thing (for a girl). It totally changes your entire look. It's one of the first things I play with; may not be final, but it will give me a great general idea as to where I want to go with my character.
Hair can be a major factor for a male toon as well. I wanted a slightly older look, with 'salt and pepper' hair and beard. There was just no real way to get the look I was after, so the Portrait I have now is somewhat younger looking than I originally intended.

True, but there isn't much one can do to escape facial structure. Ni-Kunni Amarr just aren't going to be in their twenties.
I'm okay with this.

Well I munted mine on the last edit...
I used to look like this ->
And then when my wife suggested getting rid of the lipstick I ended up with the avatar you see below ->
Very much looking forward to editing the portrait again, and trying to get close to that first image. I stuffed something up with the lighting, and couldnt frame the fame the same way. And broke something in the facial expression....

One trick I accidentally discovered (yay, yay, I know it's been known for centuries before):
Dark eyeliner makes the eyes look bigger.
This is great for Khanid's small eyes (just dismiss eyeshadow):

...cant figure out why the bewbs look so big, didnt make them like that. could it be just the angle of the shot?
It's because there is no shirt.

What I pictured a Rifter Pilot that cage-fights on weekends would look like. In my opinion some of the best time spent is working on expression and lighting.

tl;dr Drunken post - wrong topic
Death in characters in eve results in a new clone; I would like to see loss a in the previous look of your character. i.e. all bloodlines have their basic start as is; but you always start there: blank no clothes no player designed look. So you have memory skill (of the human player) and (maybe if you are smart) previous screen shots. You can "recreate your old look" (but if people look close: "You got podded I can tell!-no KillBoard-"; kinda like a ship).
Also and this is a stretch I would like to see an inability to manipulate existing clones... maybe you look a bit different but somewhat the same as your pilots license or maybe you look completely different: same person... different clone! You can dress them or switch between them but you can't change them until they die. Maybe, what you feed them at bars or whatever makes them fat/skinny strong/weak whatever...
tl:ri I thought maybe some people who took time in making characters would like this; new topic?
