Sharp PC1211, followed by a Commodore VIC-20, Apple II and then a 4.77 mhz XT. I remember with my first HDD when I had to reformat the drive, excluding system files, to be able to install and play Wing Commander II.

those cassete tape drives playing paravia were great (yes, the same cassets people used to put in their car radios)

haha, Amiga/C64 really aren't old at all,
I'm 21 and I grew up playing C64, Amiga 1000, Amiga 500+ (gogo RAM, also had the HDD that went into the expansion slot. Gave me a whole 12mb of space), and the behemoth Amiga 4000.
I guess I did start with comps pretty early, been using em since before I can remember, those puppies lasted me until I was 12 years old and got my first PC :p

I learned to type at the age of 20 using a proper typewriter, we even had speed tests, I managed to crack a whole room of people up getting ready to take a speed test one day by saying 'last one smells'. They had to delay the test by about 5 minutes.

I had a Dragon 32 at one point. More interesting though I also bought a Dragon 64 with floppy drive (Maybe twin - can't remember). I bought the 6809 processor based "OS9" MULTI-USER, MULTI-TASKING operating system that could run on it. I spent over ú70 (Way back then!!) on a Lucidata pascal compiler.
Those were the days <Sigh>
Eventually got rid of the lot to some lucky "bar steward" for about ú40.

TOG is a community for gamers over 25. There are divisions for all kinds of games from EVE to Minecraft.
We have some pretty old people in TOG, but I myself am only 29 so I feel comparably young

45 here, and I subscribe to the logic that you don't stop playing because you get old... you get old because you stop playing.
It always pained be growing up that my stepdad had the imagination of, well, a rock. Anything at all with a hint of sci-fi, fantasy, you name it was disregarded. Would look, watch, nothing. Now he's a grumpy old bastard who looks like he never really enjoyed life.
I take pride that my kids see me as someone to play with instead of someone to avoid when they want to have fun.
Ah, old computers... I remember my old C64, but what really stands out was my old 8088 with it's massive 20Meg hard drive. No, the 20Meg isn't massive, but the hard drive was. Thing weighed like 10 pounds and practically needed a deisel engine to get it spinning. Sounded like it at least...

48 and still playing! Started with an IBM 286-AT with a 20 MB hard drive, 1024K ram and a 5.25" floppy drive. MSDOS 3.0, and then upgraded to 6.0 win MS WIN3.11.
Had an Atari as a kid, Pong was my favorite. ;-)

I know that Crotador, ex-CEO of TOG, former officer of Dfunk and now member of Brick, is pushing 80years of age. He doesn't like talking about it but if you see him in local say g'day (but say it very loudly!)
He's a lovely old duffer but he does provide fairly easy kills, he can't hear people shouting on mumble to warp out.

My first computer was a PDP-8, followed closely by a PDP-11.
Still remember booting the damn thing by toggle switchs, and the mighty 2 MEG of memory came on a disk the size of a large pizza.
"Adventure" was the first computer game I played... all text.

I knew two players (brothers infact) who play eve to communicate with eachother. They're were both in their early 80s.

I'm 26 and one of the youngest members of our corp. Most of our guys are between 30 and 50.
I guess EVE is just more appealing to people that are no longer interested in the classic "action loaded" games that are released currently and so they attract other players of the same age group.

Cut my teeth in gaming on the Intellivision console. Spent hours playing sports games with stick figures. At the time it was really cool.
