Piugattuk	Posted - 2011.02.03 04:46:00 - [1] One thing about eve seems to be all the evil players about, pan handlers and general trash flying about in the eve universe, when I see this it makes me sort of have less faith in mankind in general, sure they're are evil things i feel like doing but dont because i know them to be wrong, is it not even more important to do good when you know here you wont be "found out" hiding behind a keyboard, just a thought, any players feel like this sometimes here?

Its the duality of the universe. God doesnt choose good or evil, he doesnt pick sides, he made both, to ensure a cycle. Your real problem isnt evil its our creator. It isnt the player its the game. Thats the enemy that enslaved us all to the duality of life, the game. Oneness is death, duality is life. Accept it, or just unsubscribe from the game, BANG.

We have the ability to think above animal behaviour but we are still animals slave to the game with the need to eat breath and ****, and when any of that gets threatened you can throw civilization out the window. But there are forces, such as yourself, such as the electron in the atom who think they can resist and charge the other side, but you cant. Mankind will never be rid of animal behaviour no matter how much we try to pretend. The next step in evolution is ridding animal behaviour/instinct in favor of intellect but that wont include us animals. It will be robots, AI, that we will program our ideals into who are not chained to biological life and not fallible as we humans are. So yes theres hope, but your not going to change us humans, all you can do is make something better. So dont borther trying to change the behavior of man and start working on creating something better.

That isn't very nice of you as my cat is quite nice, even if he is opportunistic.

Master Gotama	Posted - 2011.02.03 07:18:00 - [25] i'd hardly consider what people do in EVE as evil. that's usually a term associated with great pain and suffering. not much of that in game. sure some people emo-rage from losing a ship or something. but when it comes down to it, blowing up someone's pretend spaceship or trying to steal someone's pretend lunch money just isn't in the same league as killing a bunch of innocent people trying to talk to their congress woman. don't get me wrong, there's lots of d-bags on here, and a bunch of selfish people, but nothing i've ever seen in this game qualifies as evil.

I've been ganked and taken advantage of and sometimes lost alot and got pretty po'd but the adrenaline was awesome. Its kinda like in The 5th Element when Zorg pushes a glass off the counter destroying it but it the end it gives a bunch of other things something to do so it kinda becomes positve after the destruction, giving the evil more a of a purpose. It desturbs me that peeps have no problem screwing over strangers and laughing about it but I figure its a result of being picked on at school or pushed around at work and this is thier sanctuary where they get revenge, to that I say cool beans. But I personally like the fear it gives you in the back of your head that the big expensive ship or the mission you worked on and looked forward to reaping your rewards in drops and salvage is suddenly taken away and you feel helpless, it makes you stronger and smarter the next time around. And chasing some turd down with corpies to administer smackies or to return some of that tasty fear is pretty satisfying. That wouldn't be possable without the freedom to do whatever your inner bastard wants to do. We would be flyin around like a bunch of productive clones humming happy tunes la la la GAH I'd blow chunks. Necessary evil I guess, I don't need to conquer the stupid and helpless in this game because I've done it in rl so this game gives me the chance to be nice for a change lol. Most of the gankers are probably the cutest and fluffiest people in rl that turn into flexmaster gank right after login. And yeah would be nice if CCP would give some kind of training, a good corp can do that for you but someday you will be ripped off in some way or another anyhoo. Theres lots of fluffy soft games out there, none like this imo and thats why I like it.
