Hilmar and Tortifrans stretched in unison and both looked out of the window at the same time toward Hekla. No smoke today from the volcano. Hilmar sighed.
"I'm so bored."
He looked at Tortifrans. "You want to go and grab lunch?"
Tortifrans looked up from the spreadsheets, which looked suspiciously like print outs of the Jita market. "Nah, I just ate."
"Come on. I'm bored."
"Well, the exotic dancers..."
"Nah, CCP StevieG hurt the ankle yesterday and CCP Shadow refuses to come out of his box unless he gets a new XBox for Dust 514."
"Well, okay, troll the players."
Hilmar sat up in his chair, a glint appeared in his eyes. "Hmmm."
"Okay, I'll bet you a lunch. I say you can't get a 100 players to emoragequit."
"You're on. Now... what to do what to do? Nerf rockets again?"
"Nobody cares about rockets, man."
Hilmar eased back in his office chair, his eyes lost in the distance toward Hekla. After a few minutes, a wicked grin spread across his face, and he nodded sharply.
"I know. I'll extend downtime a minute, and put in the five second timer."
Tortifrans looked up, paled, and then dug out the wallet. "Here you go." He handed a bunch of bills to Hilmar. "I concede. But jeezes, you're an evil man."

I can understand things going wrong, the part that ennoys me is that they don't resolve the various issues caused due to game mechanics.
Issues such as sov loss/gained, index falling, missions expiring and various other issues that screw with peoples hard work.
Not angry, but wished they would concentrate on resolving instability, mechanics and tracking tools to tell refund/resolve issues after they have occured. Stop adding more features, just concentrate on stability.
However it is true that the game has improved over the years. Just saying.

Come on guys, take it easy on them - this is like a virtual prolapse. They're up to their elbows trying to push all that sloppy, smelly stuff back up into the hole it came from. All those slurping noises and steam. Gotta feel sorry for them.

Any bets thats its something stupidly easy to fix like loose cable in network rack or something. Its usually smallest things that cause biggest downtimes, since none expects reason to be so easy.

Because they have a freaking downtime every day... No one should have a downtime every day. I work in IT and if our servers had to be restarted every day we would be getting new hardware or making our system techs work non-stop until they were working again.
Once a week would be fine, but WTF, 4% of the week is spent in Downtime minimum.
