Yeah... Most people have a narrow window to play in, ie after work and before sleep, and extended dt eats into the aussie/asian player far more than anyone.
Luckily the dt has been good of late, and the 30 minute dt is a great move for players here...
As I say, I gave up in the past and went to sleep early and then get up 4am and play until work time... less frustrating that way.

I hope stays at 30mins. Moving to South Korea in 3 years. Want to have working fine and dandy by then. So CCP the challenge, 3 years to get get DT down to 15mins :)

I have, played regularly since 2005, Everquest 2. Eve has more downtime in a week than I experienced in months "over there".

Well if we are going to be completely honest here, it really is not any ones fault. CCP at downtime didn't say "Lets make a few tens of thousand Eve players wait for an extra hour or so before we start the servers back up". There are things you cannot control. Yes it may have been a little more often recently but most tend to remember the bad rather than the good.
Most days you can log in within half an hour of the server going down which is pretty good.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Give CCP a break, the pro's far outweigh the con's.

This is so ****ed up, I dont even know where to start.
Mental note: NEVER schedule anything in-game that stretches across DT. Simply cant trust CCP to reliably know what they are doing.
Seems to always be a database issue. Maybe you should identify why this happens and adapt the system so that it can't happen, instead of frantically scrambling around every few days, trying to patch things up (until the next time it happens).

Then you definatly havent played eq2 lately, cause it wasnt long time ago an 8hour downtime turned into an 1.5day downtime...
And nowadays they have like 2-4hour downtimes, which turn into 4-8 hour ones, on a regular basis
