This issue was also in 2008 thread but Zulu's reply was just 'look into' and nothing changed.

Questions:
Does CCP have any plans to expand wormhole content (for instance, adding an additional layer to each type, 1-6, accessible via reverse engineered probes), and additional tech 3 ships, in the next 12-18 months?
Does CCP consider a remake of the PoS system (ala the beating a dead horse thread) to be something serious that needs to be done in the next 12-18 months?
Are there any plans to implement moon-mining in wormholes (perhaps for rare materials used in additional t3 production)?
Are there any secrets in the currently implemented wormhole sites (such as the integrated terminus), that players have not discovered?
Will there be additional design a ship contests in the next year? Was the winner of the CCP version of these contests picked partially because CCP was not prepared to design and implement additional t3 ships at this time? (Peregrine fan here)
With the demise of the new UI a few months ago, have these plans been shelved, or is CCP still working on this?

Any plans to revamp the low sec/0.0 access limitations. Mainly increasing the number of systems to scale to the increased player base and adding more access points to reduce bottle necks. The main idea being that currently there are many 0.0 choke points that can easily be held by a corp/alliance. This prevents small groups from pushing into low sec/0.0 and forces fleet warfare. Low sec was much better when you weren't camped in everywhere.

Ok CCP... How about a jovian expansion? is there anything on the sort?
Also about what you said in fanfest of the new content setup. More background stories, new chronicles, not so many walls of text and actual blueprints and schematics of ships... when is that coming? or will we have to wait till world of darkness comes out to see that?
Last question i promise, is there a short term plan on changing how rats work? Improving their AI and lowering their numbers? or is it also for a 2015ish date?

Questions from the Linux chan. 1) are you testing your releases under wine? atm everything runs so good that some of us are afraid that new neat features will break things up. 2) second question is related to the first one. EVE online was well-known in the Linux community mostly for being so "multivariable" and highly text-based. observing the development process we can see that written or even indirectly given information tends to be shown. is that your policy or cq are a place to stop? 3) will I be able to turn off cq and all the upcoming graphical features?

Firstly, this is not intended to be a whine. Please take the tone of this post as honest inquiry.
The past 9 months or so have seen a significant rise in the number of bugs/non functionality in patches, as compared to patches between RMR and now (Pre-RMR was significantly worse than now.) Has there been a chance in the QA department/procedure, or was there some type of underlying code change that exposed new code changes to higher risk of defect?

Questions:
Of the two, which is CCP's higher priority, playability or realism?
Do any of the forums have a dedicated CCP Employee whose primary job it is to read and route to other CCP memberÆs relevant queries/discussions and/or a synopsis?
When you are warping to a mission location or entrance directly (as opposed to using an acceleration gate), is there an intended reason why can't we choose our warp in distance?
Is there a web page or forum that lists those things, which CCP has declared policy as to being considered exploits?
Are T2 BPOs that are destroyed put back into the game somehow?
Will there be Tech 2 or faction ship models coming out which don't resemble their Tech 1 counterparts?
Why are so many Meta 4 items equal to or superior to their tech 2 counterparts in every category? Is that by design or because changes left them antiquated?
How many Polaris' are currently in the game?

Wish List:
Any chance, in planetary interaction, that we could get a button similar to the zoom in on command center, but that zooms in on the first ECU then the next with the next time it is clicked?
Are there any plans to include a counter for the number of missions per agent level completed toward the next storyline of that agent level, on the faction info pages?
Can we have a display in the Science and Industry window, jobs tab, that when no job is selected, will show us a current total of how many Manufacturing jobs, and how many Research jobs are currently in progress with the current filtering options?
Are there any plans to replace some differentiation between starting characters, such as one education choice getting frigate 3, another mass production 3, and the third labratory operation 3?
Can we have a single character API key, to give someone limited access to just one of the three possible characters on an account?
Are there any plans to increase the cool down time for war declarations that expire or are cancelled, or simply drop the increasing fee for continuing an existing war, thus preventing the 7 out of every 8 days war?

I heard this really nasty rumour that CCP will be completely ditching departmental Connections skills because of something regarding agent quality. Seeing as I have spent well over 100M on those connections skills but made back about 30% of my investment, how are CCP planning on making sure I am reimbursed (if indeed this rumour is true)?
When Learning skills got removed, I thought it was a massively unnecessary dumbing down of the game that made it less interesting as it prevented the stratification of the player base into intelligent and gank-horny categories. If the individual connections skills are removed, this will remove yet another entertaining element of the game. Honestly, I wish you guys would find some actual problematic game mechanics to fix rather than monkeying with some of the niftiest parts of the original program. How about fixing all the problems with corporation interfaces? How about streamlining the membership list? How about fixing corporate roles? How about making sovereignty mechanics more balanced so that defenders have an incentive to defend? Drakes are still a bit overpowered, and large PVP battle lag is still a problem. It seems that these issues are far more pressing than a skill area that some small (but growing) percentage of the EVE Online player base fails to understand because they are not mature enough to understand how cool this game is.
So, if the nasty rumour is true, could you at least give us some idea of why it was decided to make this a priority over more crucial issues? Maybe because you could kill off the skills with one programmer instead of 20? Please, I'd really like to figure out whether it's worth continuing to spend my time in a game where my investments are repeatedly devalued.

As game designers, your design decisions have great potential to affect players. When you're considering a change to a mechanic do you find yourself thinking 'this will maybe upset a lot of players, this will be awesome!'
Does the anticipated player reaction play any significant role in game design.
Oh, and when can we get a missile launcher hardpoint on the Ibis, it's a damn shame that this ship can't use missiles.

Why were militants removed from the market? They were there years ago and still drop in missions as required item + extras but now theyÆre contract only. There are a few items like that. Why are micro class mods (besides mapc) still on the market after all these years?
Will livestock units ever have a use? Marines to cash in for NPC support in Dust for example.
With my noctis making a huge blob of cans around me will we ever get a right click æopen all nearby containersÆ like we have for abandoning them?

Can a new Missile type be added for use in larger Missile launchers. MIRV type missile.
Example: Torpedo launcher on a battleship fires a single Torpedo that splits into three standard missiles. In use for close in defense of larger ships against smaller nimbler ships.
Downsides to MIRV missile Much shorter Range then normal, Also the smaller missiles are FOF not targeted, and finally cost...these Buggers ain't cheap.
Just and Idea but I've read to many sci fi military books and such so don't see how this wouldn't a possibility.
Another Idea is kinda against jetcan Pirates.... Booby trapped jetcans. Look Like jetcan, Scans like jetcan, till you open it and your not the owner or someone who's suppose to get it....and BOOM. Explosive Jetcan Booby trap. Bane of Can pirates everywhere.

I would like to know why the "Story" bit of EVE has gone a down a lot since the Empyrean age days? I remember how the Empyrean Age Novel tied in with the game. I remember how events was unfolding and In Game Story was unfolding via the login screen where you select your character. I remember the Vids CCP made to tie in with the Expansion and the Novel at the same time...The carrier smashing into the station...holding my breath watching the "News vid" of that and the minmatar fleet at the concord station...and even while we were waiting for the Expansion being deployed and the EVE servers were down, we had a thread we could watch as the events in EVE unfolded. That was awesome.
Nowadays all you see in the News thread where you select your character is stuff about how some Alliance I will never see or has never heard about has lost a Titan...or other non Canon, non story crap.
PLEASE bring back the strong story content as there was with the Empyrean Age expansion!!! Big Up to Tony Gonzalles (sp?) writing the 3rd Novel...but get these IP creators more involved in the game as with Empyrean age. News threads, In game "News Vids", Novels...common people...PLEASE

Three Questions, one easy, two kind of loaded. Thanks for answering!
1) Like turrets, are missiles slated for an upgrade graphically? ("Poof - My Ship birthed a missile" needs change badly)
2) While there are tons of threads (and ideas) on Faction Warfare and how to improve it, does CCP have a team actively working on Faction Warfare improvements? Looking for details - not just yes or no, though even that would be nice. =)
3) Incursions was a step towards helping players get together, but inherently EVE's cut-throat system makes random-player fleets too risky to try. Has CCP considered truly 'safe' environments (likely early in pilot's life) in which players don't need to fear one another? i.e. Random Fleets assembled to take on an Incursion or Challenge X without worrying about shooting each other down. (No I don't support this idea, but it directly relates to getting new players involved without giving them reason to ragequit in month 2 when they lose that ship they spent month 1 getting.)

I'll start by saying I'm a dreamer and I over think things.
Changing Security Status of Systems Why can't sys sec status be dynamic as in:
- Alliances able to create 'CONCORD' like system, made for BS/BC/Frigs w/elite drone AI's that patrol gates, attack reds, respond to 'distress' signal, etc.
- Changes as more reds and/or outlaws appear
- Changes based on number of recent kills
Stations/Outposts Can the current 'outposts' be reclassified as stations (since they are) and new outposts be made available as in:
- Tons of outposts are seen in missions, why not make them available to build use?
- Special focus/limited compared to stations (mining, harvesting)(only X # dockable, shared hangar, uses fuel)
- No limit to number of stations in sys
- Corp/Alliance can anchor in NPC space (taxed (goes to sov holder), uses convoys)
Galaxy makeup Why not allow the galaxy to alter form as in:
- Factions wage war
- Wars result in gain/loss of faction sov, sec status, etc.
- Joinable NPC fleets
- Loyalists benefit (lead NPC fleets, LP, faction ships, etc)
Invention There is no 'inventing' in the current system. Why not allow invention/research that creates new/different items as in:
- Shield hardening arrays use meta 1 items, why not substitute a meta 2, tech 2, or faction mod instead? Different fitting requirements, bonuses ...
- Corp/alliance/faction that 'invents' a new item gets bpos for it, others can only get copies (similar to patents (time available to make isk before becoming public))
- Our scientists make WH travel possible, FTL possible, change fabric of space (I assume that's how webs work), but can't make a power generator POS mod? Or a computer (CPU) mod? I understand this could make invincible POS, so make the control tower only able to control so many mods, changes on tower size
Pirate factions Why can't I be a 'turncoat' and join a pirate faction as an actual member, as in:
- 'black listed'/red overview icon (not CONCORD killable since they ignore pirates even if they are attacking ships within range)
- Character customization to reflect new appearance
- As standing/loyalty increases, greater effect over NPCs
- able to alter missions (bring in a new wave, alter composition, direct NPCs against missioner)
Standings I see no 'real' benefit to standings, only losses. Sure you get better agents (as effective as time/number of missions based) and the station manager likes you (social skills), but why can't standings play a larger role?
Other Why isn't there a can available that benefits ice miners? There is no can that allows an 'extra' cube to be stored (giant secure container gives only 900 m3 extra space, not enough for an ice cube).
Why not make commodity items more useful, especially those that have no/little use such as extra people? Example: take down POS shield, move ship to within 2,500 m, put X marines in the POS, hope they can kill the operators, giving you control of the tower. OR freedom fighters and stranded pilots getting ships and patrol POS/gate for you. OR Scientists reduce research time.
Why can I not rebuild ruined ships/stations/structures at a reduced cost? Tons of ruined stations exist in missions, why not rebuild them and have a corp/alliance/private station?
Why can't a corporation hold sov without forming an alliance? Takes tons of SP (and isk) to get alliance skills but a single corp may make up the entire alliance. Why are they punished?
When station habitation becomes a reality, will our characters need nourishment? I have lots of frozen seeds I could plant in my soil with fertilizer in my special outpost to sell to the casinos plus I have dairy products, long-limb roes, spiced wine, spirits, tobacco, etc. I also have live stock and wheat.
Can our characters wear the tags we have? |
