Simple question. If the answer is yes, then could you explain why? (Please don't let it be because of black paint that will be sold for Aurum...)
If the answer is no, then could you please explain why the new sacrilege is brown?

Brown is the fotm colour at ccp atm. It's even better if it has a tint of green in there to create a nice cosy vomit-like feeling. See sansha "supercarrier", incursion theme and the colour of incursion systems, new maller etc. It looks awesome doesn't it? Didn't think so...

That's what you all get for not standing up to the camouflage Navy Mega. The worst has already happened. Now any new hideous art design is acceptable.

It's troubling indeed. Some star systems have light that makes Khanid ships look brown but in the preview they're always black and silverish, very pretty.
I'm sure CCP will fix it before the new Maller hull comes to TQ.

am I just color blind or not? I don't really find that color brown altough I do agree it's not really black anymore
and I like the model ----

As a proud Khanid I demand the regular paint jobs are applied on all our ships! What Minmatar joker made them brown?

I agree, the model looks really nice, but paintjob isnŠt really good. havenŠt a problem with a little brown touch on the black ships (like currently), or a little blue touch on the scorpion etc.. But this is way out of all, it reminds me on the front of the Heretic, way to light-coloured.

I agree and again: Graphics vs Aesthetics so of quoted, but it doesnŠt make it untrue. I think the problem is the same like in Golden Axe: Beast Rider: To much brown. In Eve is it today to much grey, like in this forum. DonŠt get me wrong, I like it, but I think maybe just 3 grey tones would great and like in evegate a darker grey.
P.S. I think evelopedia needs also more #222 and a darker grey.

The Picture says Sacrilage right above it.
The Vangel(First Ship) is Gold with an engraved AT IX, the Malice has a Khandidish coloring(Second) also with a IX, the Sacrilige(3rd Ship) is the one pictured in the OP.
Good Luck to PL, I look forward to watching the Tourny.

Dont you guys see what's happening?
CCP will intentionally give ships ugly color schemes now so that you are forced to "beautify" your ships via the arum driven vanity store...coming to a neighborhood near you.
Yes, it will cost you to make your ship look nice again.

video shows it better, just looks to be a shader change. the diffuse is still black. I'm sure they will tweak the tech.

All the maller based model ships are being replaced with a new base maller so to fit with the new AT prize maller.

I, too, would like an official answer to the OP. My main opposition to the vanity MT system is based on the concern that CCP will be changing the aesthetics of EVE ships just so that they can make more money off of Aurum paint sales later on. Seeing the new sacrilege makes me very uneasy about the whole thing.
CCP, please respond!

Really?? You do realize you're talking about a company that is notorious for releasing half-finished content and then never going back to finish it. All the more reason why we need to keep the pressure up until they address our concerns about this expansion.

Still waiting, CCP.

It's the Sac... I'm the one who took that screenshot. ;) Logged into duality, checked Market and snapped the picture. Then bought a sac and that is what it looks like now.. So pretty sure it's a sac.
I also took screens of the other maller hull ships as well. Each had slight variations.
Maller Sac Devoter
Also, I flew the Sac around duality under many different lighting conditions... And it was indeed brown. :/ Even under the most neutral lighting I could fine (My hanger).

Dunno, maybe I am the only one out there but I REALLY don't like new Maller/Sacri/Devoter models and color scheme.
Would be nice to have a clientside option to choose if you want old/new models like good ol EQ1 had with their models...

That is the Vangel and not the Sacrilege. It is a prize in the AT-IX as is the Malice.

I'm worried that you may be right, which is why I created this thread. I was hoping for an immediate "of course not!" response, but taking this long to respond means that they either a) have to check to make sure before they respond (which is not a good sign), or b) are keeping quiet and hoping this thread disappears and people forget.
I for one will be keeping this thread on page one as much as possible.
Also, I fully encourage people to ignore the "that's not the Sacrilege" trolls. Even noticing their existence just feeds them.

IT IS THE SAC! We keep saying that. I took that screenshot and then BOUGHT a sac on duality and flew it around. Log into Duality and buy a sac... Thats the model being used. All maller hulls have essentially the same look on Duality with the new model now. With slight variations.
The tourne prize one is slightly different with some cool looking logos on top.
