LOL ?
Was this seriously the offical response from CCP top devs ?
PDF is out internal news letter where we ut stuff and discusss - we knew that allready.
Clothing can be expensive, but we will put some cheap stuff inside as well.
Hope it helps and best of luck ...
Ummm ... could we get someone that can actually read to browse the forums and then use REALLY small words while explaining to like of Zulu, Hilmar and the like WHY we are all upset ?
Clearly the higher you climb corp ladder the stoppider you get.

After reading the blog, it has FAILED to address any of the issues we, the EVE players, are concerned about.
Many of us DO NOT want microtransactions to become part of the game. The dev blog failed to address OUT MAJOR CONCERNS. While the blog did say that the newsletter does not express the official views of the company, it does not answer anything.
Quote: The opinions and views expressed in Fearless are just that; opinions and views. They are not CCP policy nor are they a reliable source of CCP views as a company.
If Fearless is not a reliable source of CCP views about the direction it is heading, then WHAT ARE CCP'S VIEW ABOUT IT? You have access to the players voices as seen through various protests happening on the servers right now, the various threads and posts against it, and the many number of players who have voiced their choice to unsubscribe from the game. You know our concerns and are willing to take drastic measure to express them to you and get your attention.
We as players, DEMAND ANSWERS!!! We as players, who want to believe that CCP is still the great company that provided us a great game, is still a great company to support and believe in. This blog has not provided us with ANY ANSWERS nor has it resolved anything.
You've heard everything the players have to say, CCP. So far you've only left us with DISAPPOINTMENT and EMPTY PROMISES. However, you still have a chance to rectify this issue. You can still fix this issue by being completely HONEST with your players.

Hey all. To clarify this blog, its intent was to address two topics and two topics only;
1. What Fearless is and the nature of its content 2. The pricing strategy behind the NeX store
I do realize there are other concerns you have and those will be addressed, but doing it all at the same time would make the messaging tricky and muddled and not allow for a focused discussion. I understand a lot of the frustration going around but if we want to discuss then we need to do so in a constructive and focused manner.
Thanks, Arnar

The scale of incompetence is staggering. To be so out of touch with your player base. Seems fitting SWG being close down was in the news today. Sure it limped along for years kept alive by station accounts. But even SOE acknowledges they made a mistake. You seem to think you have done great work with All teh recent events and are misunderstood. Really... really. There are no words to properly describe this scale of arrogance and incompetence.
A full day to write that, you sir are useless.

blog fails to deliver.
actualy now that i think about it anyone else see the irony in the AT discussions where one of the devs (sorry i forget who) stated talking about playing swgemu and how awsome it was to play the game before they ruined it, and then they bring this out.
CCP: destroying the game we love 1 nerf at a time.

So someone on CCP's staff looked over the multi-hundred page thread of rage... and all you got out of it was what CCP Pann said the other day? Your MT JEANS are too pricey?
So we take that as stated confirmation that you are adding game altering MT?

This response is nothing but a slap in the face, I've been playing this game since 2005 and I don't deserve to be treated like this.
And since when was it ok for CCP to publish profanities in their Blogs? I know that some players have taken their feelings too far but we are not children to be scolded.

A couple things went through my mind after reading this.
1) SOE? Is that you?
2) Wait... It took you guys that long to write that? Seriously?
3) I'm generally accused of being a CCP fanboi, but now I am pretty peeved about how you handled this. If I can't run multiple clients on the same computer by opting out of CQ when docking, (which I hear you will be getting rid of) I'm out. ------------------------------------------

Waaaah. Cry and ***** some more, people.
This devblog says pretty much what I've been saying all along. The document in question was little more than a brainstorming session put into writing. While there's things there I disagree with, you people seriously need to pull your collective heads out of your asses, or shove them far enough in that you can't talk out of them anymore. You're pulling out tiny little tidbits from a brainstorming session and crying and whining about them, while blowing them way out of proportion.
I hope they quadruple the cost of Aurum items so the vain pricks who buy them will look like the magnificent wastes of oxyen they are, wasting real life money on virtual vanity items instead of something beneficial.
There are real issues to be concerned and maybe even irate about in Eve. This ****? Not it.
All expansions in Eve have needed tweaking and patching until they work fine on all systems. All expansions in Eve featuring new stuff(tm) have required balancing over time until they work as they should. Why the hell do you insane ******s think Incarna of all things wouldn't require the same? You guys seriously need to relax and have some freakin' patience.
We all have legitimate issues we can point to and ask CCP to focus on. Balance supercaps. Finish FW and all the other half-finished features added to the game. Return live events and work on them some more. Un**** the sound-engine until it stops derping halfway through an engagement. Fix the performance issues some people have with CQ. Make CQ activated with a button present in the normal ship-spinning mode.
Add another hundred things, depending on who you talk to. All legitimate, all things worthy of taking notice of...
And yet... what creates an uproar of epic stupidity and *****ing... an internal pdf that is for all intents and purposes just a brainstorming session of the 'what if...?' variety, and the cost of a ****ing monocle.
If I were to throw my toys out of the pram and quit Eve at this point, it sure as hell wouldn't be because of CCP. It would be because of how ashamed I am of my fellow players who really need to sit down, shut the **** up, then think for a ****ing minute. You're seriously *****ing your way into a freakin' frenzy over nothing.
To any CCP employees/leaders/whatever that may read this: You and I don't see eye to eye on a lot of things when it comes to gameplay, storyline and roleplaying in Eve Online. CQ is proof of that. Still... I thank you for still providing a better MMO and game than all those other MMO devs out there, and I'm still here as a paying customer that still trusts you to listen to the community and then make your own decisions. The right ones. You'll never please everyone, and you haven't always pleased me... but I trust that you are still making decisions with the intent to make Eve as good as you can. (Making unprobable mission runners cry in their bowl of waaaah made my ****ing year, for instance.)
Whether I agree with those decisions or not... you're still way within the boundaries. Thank you, and keep up the good work.
And for ****'s sake, make CQ activated by a button in the normal ship-spinning screen.

That was a poor and unsatisfactory response!
You, at best, circumvented the issues I find important:
1.) MT for non-vanity items -- Your blog does nothing to squelch the prominent view, spread by fearless, that MT will be used for non-vanity items in the future. Don't dodge your position, but own it. Are you planning this, or are you sticking to your aforementioned stance that MT's are for vanity items only. If there is an internal debate going on, explain the pro's and con's from various CCP perspectives, explain how its being explored, and be open about it. Humanize yourself, and No MORE LIES.....
2.) Mandatory CQ - The majority of players play internet spaceships. Forcing those that enjoy the spaceships part into the "out of pod" experience has some serious negative effects to players that dual box and triple box. The way I see it, remove mandatory CQ, or I remove 2 out of 3 accounts. If you feel CQ has to be mandatory, you need to include actual game-play aspects of CQ. As it is now, it is a large waste of memory for vanity aesthetics.

CCP needs to commit as a company to not converting to a "pay to win" game model. Especially on top of already charging subscriptions. Anything else will not assuage us.
I don't know if the community as a whole can even accept non-vanity items at this point. Even if the current CCP staff commit to not adopting a "pay to win" model, the next people that have the job may feel differently. Stay away from the slippery slope.

Why did that blog leave me with a feeling that someone didn't get it? And to be honest, it's a little surprising it took that long to post such a generic response to the current uproar. At the moment I don't see a reason to reconsider the cancelation of my accounts.

sorry if this has already been said many times but alas my browser not refreshing well and many pages already to read.
Personally i couldn't care less about clothes and all that sort of stuff.
I only want to know one thing. Will you be charging microtransactions for better weaponry/ships etc and still charge a subscription fee?
actually i'd also quite like to know what the likely projected price and availability of plex will be, but i think all that would be over my head anyways so nevermind.

With regard to the first point, it's a fair one if that was the intent of the in-house document. I'm sure the individuals would have been a little more circumspect if they had thought the document would be read by the player base; and if people were indeed playing devil's advocate (as I do myself in my working life, to pose the counter argument), then certainly it is harsh to vilify them for a position they may not really believe in personally, even if they are proposing hugely unpopular ideas.
With regard to the second point, and reading the Jita local channel for the last hour or so, the blog really does not address the issue. The price of vanity items is a complete side issue against the suggestion that MT will have an impact on gameplay. THAT is the issue that has caused tonight's protest, not the price of trousers.
I didn't log in to Jita tonight to take part in the protest, I didn't even know it was happening. But I am certainly impressed at the response by players to changes they do not like. I can't see blogs like this helping to resolve the matter. My personal reccomendation at this point would be to suspend NEX and call a CSM meeting at the first opportunity. I believe that was the purpose of creating one?

Im absolutely enraged by this situation that cpp has bringed players in.
Introducing items to store and use it as trojan horse for further shop expansion and adding items that would change the balance of the game. Absolutely disgusting. Selling faction standings that take months to gain? Selling ammo and weapons? Go to hell.

I think a lot of the community that cares passionately about the game is making some very valid points and these have had no response.

Thanks CCP. If I hadn't already unsubbed my three accounts, I'd be doing it now. That blog simply proves everyone's concerns. That you have lost touch with your playerbase, your game, and the sandbox.
You have around fifty days of gameplay to convince me that you actually remember what this game is about, but I'm thinking I'll probably be wasting my time even logging in.
P.S Zulu, you should look into politics, spinning a yarn like that in the face of massive hatred is a special talent. Don't waste it.... Sort by what? |

Here CCP. Let me upgrade your equipment, because yours kinda suck right now.
I really LOVE how pompous he sounded. I really felt like he connected to us as best he possible could. Like, Louis Vitone explaining why he's selling his handbags at $50,000,000 USD each to cast members of Desperate Housewives and Sex and the City!
I really love how he fully explained and calmed our concerns for Non-Vanity items in his devblog. So many questions were answered!!
What the Frak is this!?!?
I've really been rooting for you guys, CCP. I have a lot of respect for Manifest and Fallout. I get giddy when I get tweet replies from you guys - its encouraging. I feel like Sean Connery winked at me. you know? its like that for me.
I'm a calm guy. I know you're all human and I really try not to step into the flame wars. I try to speak as if I'm actually in a dialog with you. I present my points, I address those you guys bring up.
Again: What the Frak is this!?!?
*sigh*
Instead of saying "Okay, here's what's going on." you guys decided to give us "Haha! you guys just don't get it! *smug look*"
You guys could have salvaged this. I've really lost faith in your ability to hear anyone. If you can't hear 2,000 protestors in Jita, 2,000 in Amarr, and god knows how many in Rens. If you can't listen to that Threadnarok over there. There is Nothing NOTHING to make us thing that you can hear ANY of us.

That's what I figured. I would say that CCP's response is an admission to include non-vanity items in the AUR store.
CCP, it's your game and I don't have any right to dictate how you develop it other than to not participate.
I'll be unsubbing x3 this weekend when I get back to my desktop.
It's been fun but I refuse to play a pay-to-win game (even a non-subscription one). Good luck to those that leave as well as to those that stay. Good luck to CCP too, you guys have proven that you can develop an awesome game up to this point. P2W is a huge risk, hope it works out.
