Browsing reddit and I saw this post from an Eve player: Just a normal fw payout
And this was the screenshot: 184,250,000,000 isk
So, assuming that the claim is factual (multiple Minmatar characters semi-afk) - should a low-risk activity in a frigate be rewarded with 184 billion isk per week? Middle age is when your broad mind and narrow waist begin to change places. -E. Joseph Cossman |

According to the anti-high sec zealots, no number is ridiculous, as long as it is not high sec. So yeah, running around with a 3 day alt in a speed tanked Incurses, with zero weapons, orbiting low sec plexes for a payout, yeah, billions and billions of ISK / week is entirely reasonable. But for a high sec player to make 1 hundredth of that, oh no, that is unbalancing the game.

Well, I saw somewhere that the rewards were going to be changed to simply giving people more loyalty points instead of allowing them to severely undercut everyone else in the market. Combine that with some other adjustments and the profitability of faction warfare should drop quite a bit.
After the nerf people will once again be back on the Incursion bandwagon and people will start complaining about that again. |

When I started I made 180M a week in high-sec running ammo in destroyers.
I was keenly aware that I was a rookie and other people were doing it better than I was.
I suspected possibly a million times better, since I did this with no real research and in relative safety. I estimated this knowing that capitals were big.
So no, I don't think it's unreasonable for a smart player who's analyzed the situation and developed a sound plan to make 180b a week. In fact, i suspect FW could pay more if you were ATK.
You mentioned it was done "semi-afk".

So you are telling me every price spike that acompanies FW Teir 5 is not inflating the price of PLEX. FYI there are many things that can cause inflation go reread your Freshman econ book for a few hints.

Incursions give out massive amounts of ISK, and take a relatively small amount of that ISK to convert the LP.
FW gives out LP and no ISK, requiring the economy to sink ISK into it to convert the LP.
DarthNefarius wrote:So you are telling me every price spike that acompanies FW Teir 5 is not inflating the price of PLEX. Generally speaking, Inflation is the increase in the monetary supply relative to everything else. Does FW increase the amount of ISK in the game? Nope, in fact it reduces the amount of ISK in the game. Does FW reduce the amount of everything else? Nope. Do Incursions increase the amount of ISK in the game? Hell, yes. Do Incursions reduce the amount of everything else? Nope.
Ergo, Incursions provide an inflationary pressure while FW provides a deflationary pressure on the game's economy.
One item increasing in price does not indicate inflation. In the case of PLEX, I'd say that PLEX prices indicate how easy it is to make money; prices go up when it gets easier to make money and down when it gets harder*. Regardless, PLEX is not a basket of goods, and you need a basket of goods to measure inflation.
*When making money is easier, more people want to buy them (as it takes less time to earn a PLEX) and fewer people want to sell (because grinding that ISK instead of selling PLEX is easier). When it's harder, fewer people want to buy them (as it takes more time to earn a PLEX) and more people want to sell (because grinding that ISK instead of selling PLEX is harder). Reducing the amount of isk it takes to buy the goods doesn't make it less a sink, just less of a sink. If you spend 20M and make 80M, it's still a sink of 20M, regardless of the profit.

They're going for the tried and true method of "Nerf the current Income source first then never get around to introducing the new one" which worked so well in Dominion*
*Changes to R64s were intended to reduce alliance level income derived from fixed sources, while the Space Feudalism contracts were intended to allow Alliances to more directly tax and control their income stream derived from the newly buffed ratting. So? FW removes ISK from the economy. The Tier system doesn't alter the proportion of ISK to LP needed to extract LP, so all it does is change the amount of stuff that gets extracted for a given amount of ISK sunk. As it happens, because higher tiers increase the amount of *stuff* in the game by a larger amount for a given amount of ISK sunk, they're an even greater deflationary force than lower tiers.
Remember, Inflation is a relative increase in the money supply, so when more stuff enters the economy without bringing new ISK into the economy (or in FWs case, while removing ISK), a deflationary pressure is exterted. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

Its making things cheaper so more of it gets bought which means its not as big a drop as many would assume. It is also still an isk sink unlike incursions. |

Still making ******** amounts of ISK per week off faction ammo (which everyone uses) and +5 Implants/Hardwires, which albeit sell slower, but are still pretty steady sellers even if you have to move them around a few times.
With the 51-day refer-a-friend trial accounts, you can train a character into a slasher and semi-afk plex all day with minimal risk; Minimal meaning if you think the possibility of losing a 500k ISK frigate is risk while making 75-80k LP an hour per account. Why do you make the assertion that us hi-sec folk want to make null sec levels of income?
Please provide evidence that I (as a typical hi-sec player) have asked for this.
If I recall correctly, when I asked about null sec levels of income I was given an average figure of 30 mill per hour, so it seems that the levels of income are already comparable.

The only possible way that's true is if a significant amount of LP is left unredeemed. The ISK is sunk as soon as you accept the LP store offer. The status of the market for items is entirely irrelevant to any discussion of Faucets.
By the way, you claimed that FW caused inflation. In EVE, the only way to create inflationary pressure is through ISK Faucets or net Material sinks (as Inflation is the increase in the amount of money in an economy compared to the amount of [stuff] that the money can buy). FW is neither.
The other real world sources for inflationary pressure (like fractional reserve banking) don't exist for EVE. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

FW itself really shouldn't be an isk faucet at all. The act of running the sites and taking control of the system shouldn't be rewarded, because all that rewards is rapidly flipping systems. What should be rewarded is holding systems, with the rewards increasing the more systems you hold. This encourages players to want to hold onto their space. Currently, the space itself means nothing, its just the place where you go for FW. Its not worth fighting over, so all the fighting is just for the sake of fighting. |

Since when is FW an isk faucet? It's most likely one of the biggest isk sinks in game. FW produces 0 isks and costs isks when purchasing Faction items in the LP store.
It is however a huge income source and with too little risks attached to it. It will however, luckily, be "fixed" with the winter expansion. And let's not forget that if the players want to nerf FW they can: boycott factional items and FW'ers won't have any income source. -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

Wardecs are irrelevant since they're easily dodged, awoxing is easily avoided because everyone and their mother is in personal tax dodging corps and as for the rest, these things happen in nullsec on a much larger scale with ships much more expensive and harder to replace (see: supercapital fleets) please leave |

Billions, if not trillions of isk gets removed from the overall economy every time a FW faction gets T5, long term this creates deflation, it is not a difficult concept. The ISK people are making merely comes from other players, not bounty ticks.
And frankly, the average income of a random afk char is 80mil an hour at best (and that assumes that no-one attacks you in lowsec, fairly rare). If someone really wants to run over 100 accounts (approximately how many would have been required for this payout) then good luck to them. I don't have the patience (or the PC) to run that many accounts at once.
However, I think people should possibly report this ECM Jesus (I believe it was his payment) for botting so CCP can investigate, I don't know about the rest of you, but I find something seems very unlikely about really running over 100 accounts by hand... |

Same amount of ISK sunk, greater amount of stuff produced => Greater deflationary pressure. Unless the demand was elastic you are not going to be selling 4X widgets in the same amount of time. What you are seeing here is a 75% degradation of the ISK sink maybe a little less if demand goes up due to it selling for a cheaper price. well. problem is: level 5 needs to be reached and maintained by people. It costs people some amount of LPs. So you won't have T5 for long time.
Result: when you see T5 you almost 'have to' spend all available LPs to buy something. Elsewere you can find yourself needed to buy stuff at T1-T4 later.
So i guess there is no degradation of ISK sink here. |

It's a bit extreme, yes.
HOWEVER.
Some people have said "Why's this okay and hisec income isn't." The difference is that FW is actually an isk SINK. Not an isk faucet like say 120m/hr norisk vanguards or any other non-mining (and maybe explo) activity in highsec. The only time you earn ISK in FW is killing people (a net loss) and missions (which are no more than hisec missions and much riskier) |

FW currently ( come winter it no longer will) also reduces the ISK sink per item which overtime is reducing the ISK sink function. Too bad CCP Diagoras isno longer around to publish stats regarding the windfall known as FW.

Since you seem to have decided that reading's boring, I'll try again,
The only possible way that's true is if a significant amount of LP is left unredeemed. The ISK is sunk as soon as you accept the LP store offer. The status of the market for items is entirely irrelevant to any discussion of Faucets.
Are you claiming that people leave a significant amount of LP unredeemed every time they hit T5? Because that is the only way the ISK sink shrinks at higher Tiers. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

I make a similar amount with 12 accounts, the key is moving goods after cashing out in a tradehub other than Rens/Jita.
In the past 60 days, I've cleared well over 350b, with a net loss of about 141m isk (500k slashers) due to either not paying attention at all, unfortunate spawn locations, or getting ganked. This is obviously not broken in the slightest, and should never be fixed.

As people hear how profitable something is, they will all jump on the bandwagon, flooding the market and causing a degradation of profits for everyone. Its a self correcting market my friends.
Faction Warfare gives you straight up Loyalty Points, rather than isk like bounties do. Loyalty Points are highly susceptible to fluctuations and the LP store drags more isk out of the player's wallet than FW gives to the player. Therefore it is an Isk Sink System.

Yes with naga or vindi you can generate much more. But im talking about T3 with null+cloak+dscan spamming (nearly uncatchable in null = almost no risk, like in hisec). Im just pointing that null whiners that cry because they earn less than in hisec and even that they can be shot (you can be shot down in hisec too) is just their problem and incompetence. An if they live in alliance space (where null+cloak is not needed) this statement is doubly true.
According incursion nerf. I dont have problem with that. I was incursion runner too (and made nice isks there) but i agree that rewards were astronomical (for hisec). I agree that lowsec incursions should have remained as they were, maybe with minor adjustments but not balancing them around being run with shiny faction BS. They are inherently much more dangerous since the gates have scramming rats and somebody can light a cyno on you the moment your fleet pops the mothership.
Honestly, I believe they should have been exclusive to lowsec since it was in serious need of something unique (and by that I don't mean broken FW sites that can be run in frigates) please leave |

Honestly, I believe they should have been exclusive to lowsec since it was in serious need of something unique (and by that I don't mean broken FW sites that can be run in frigates)
i can agree with this post but hisec incs should remain (for training). According cyno after mothership kill, there should be 30-60 mins for cooldown, so even you pop mothership, cynojam will be still active. GÇ£If reality can destroy the dream, why shouldn't the dream destroy reality?GÇ¥ |

Currently, FW is not an isk faucet since it does not generate significant amounts of isk (FW lvl4's do create a little, maybe 2M per mission). But its role as isk sink has been diminished due to greatly reduced LP store isk costs. Additionally, everything is so damn cheap at tier 5 that it makes any non-FW LP basically worthless. The only good bit of news here is the losing side of both fronts has greatly enhanced faction item values since FW LP can't buy them reasonably. The Troll is trolling. |

I feel the need to correct this very common misconception.
Tier level DOES NOT affect the isk/lp ratio sink.
Since the tier based cost savings affect both LP and ISK cost, the ratio remains constant regardless of tier. The only thing that changes is the number of items that are created.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but all those implants are nowhere near worth that estimated value. On top of that its going to be hell to sell even half of those at a portion of what they are worth. All militias have access to the same implants. Many of those implants only sell 5 units or so a day in all of new eden. So much supply and so little demand, yeah have fun selling those. |

The only possible way that is true is if people are leaving significant amounts of LP un-redeemed on L5 day.
If they aren't, the amount of ISK sunk per LP stays the same no matter what Tier the faction is at, so the total amount of ISK sunk stays the same. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

There is an underground community coordination that takes place with a specified "cash out" day. It's all very hush hush and kept under wraps because some of the prime drivers of this farmville are current CSM members.
It totally feels like gaming the system and everyone who does it is left feeling a little dirty, but once they pile up billions of isk for hardly any effort they get over it real quick and start priming the systems for the next cash out. |

Your spouting about ratios is ridiculas. The isk reduction per item of each faction item adds up & there is no way demand will be able to catch up for years. Dr E is going to find out soon if he already hasnot that the 6 Trillion ISK a month LP sink is going to be halved or only three-quarters what it was last February starting I suspect mid February 2013 and lasting until 2014 or 2015 thanks to the plowing of the implant markets. It would have been worse if the Goons secretly sold off thier implant hord from thier 'exploight' Dr E may have been talking about the needs for new ISK sinks last fanfest but what the DEVs did here is reduce a sink over the long term. The only way that is possible is if people leave significant amounts of LP un-converted.
Each LP converted X ISK as soon as it's converted different Tiers do not change this. If the same total amount of LP is converted, the same total amount of ISK is sunk.
What happens to the products of that conversion do not matter when talking about ISK sinks. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

Incorrect more faction items at 75% less of an ISK SINK are being flooded into a market without an increased demand for implants There are not going to be that many more implants bought ( the implant market is not elastic even with cost savings) thus the ISK sink is reduced ~75% per purchase. For the rest of you, his mistake is this: the ISK sinking (i.e. removal from the game) happens when the LP are redeemed, not when the items gained thereby are sold. |

You're forgetting that the LP cost decreases proportionally with the ISK cost as tier goes up, so 1 LP sinks the same amount of ISK at Tier 1 that it does at Tier 5.
The market does not matter when we're talking about ISK sinks. Unless you are claiming that people are leaving significant amounts of LP un-redeemed, the same amount of ISK is sunk no matter how much stuff it's converted into. The ISK is sunk at the point of LP redemption. No later, so things that happen after that point (like selling the thing) do not affect the sink.
If you want to claim that as prices fall people will quit doing FW, then you might have a point, but that has nothing to do with the tier system. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

Incursions were (and still are) an enormous ISK Faucet.
ISK Faucets exert an inflationary pressure on the economy.
FW is an enormous ISK Sink at the same time as it's a [Stuff] Faucet.
Both ISK Sinks and [Stuff] Faucets exert a deflationary pressure on the economy. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone

Actually you're right, the isk sink aspect doesn't change. A small brain fart on my part. That said, as noted there is a limited market for the stuff. Eventually FW LP will be worth absolutely nothing and at this rate, it won't take long for that to happen. And since FW LP is basically each races master LP, those winning factions will suffer greatly for a long time to come. But as said, this has boosted the non-FW LP for the losing factions a little. So there is an up shot for me personally. The Troll is trolling. |

Time to understand the truth of the church of ECM. We have been farming 100b biweekly/player since just after inferno. The fw lp store has so many items and the market usually recovers after a week or two. Besides the implants will increase in value after winter expansion when ccp nerfs it.
To anyone calling this a exploit please understand how many hours we put into this and with how many chars. I have personally 10 farmer alts + a pvp main to protect them for the mity hattery. |
