So you say the channel switches automagically to delayed when hitting 50 people if you have it set to immediate, instead of like before blocking people?
Will it revert back to immediate once going below?
Currently I keep my channel in delayed since we pass 50 from time to time, so now I can go back to immediate (which i would like so I know who's there) and it will switch on/off for me?

I hope this is a step toward delayed local in nullsec and lowsec. As a WH dweller, I say make it all like WH's, but I think there might be a bit of backlash if that were the case. |

I like the fact everything is being overhauled slowly, with the targeting changes all that's left is the windows and stuff and the game will be refreshed a bit. Good times!
In terms of highlighting dust players, are you able to post a screenshot of what it looks like with a compacted memberlist?
The highlighting does make DUST players stand out, what was the logic behind that? At the moment it rather looks like (if you were new to the game) that the DUST player is somehow in charge etc. Also if there's like 15 dust players and 3 EVE players it will look a bit odd.
Is it possible to have a slightly less obvious highlight for dust players, but then also have a highlight for EVE players? I think potentially it would look a bit better. |

Hmm, when it comes to hilight and chat messages (capsuleer to capsuleer), will the only option be to hilight what me, myself and I type? Or? What about hilighting text when someone types TO me (which in my opinion is 10000 times more useful)? .... plz have a look at this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=97035 (post 1 and 3)
If I do understand the "Highlight My Messages" thing ... doesn't it seem kinda backwards? If not on a drunken roam I'm usually aware of what I type with my own fingers, but not as aware if someone wants me in one of the gazillion channels that one needs to be in ;P Bring EVE into the 21st century, add some basic chat features IRC-clients have had since the beginning of the 1990's. Get proper chat hilighting into EVE! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=163626&p=2 |

highlighting our own message is O .....K..
but why the hell not take the REAL step and highlight the message people write to us containing OUR name ?
highlighting our own text wont solve that we will loose important messages send to us..
cmon CCP allready ..
make us enable Highlight people when we mention their names and make us choose words that gets highlighted when mentioned.. perhaps a small sound note also along the flashing of a new colour ( own choise also )
GIVE US THE CONTROL !

If people drag and drop someone's avatar/name into chat instead of typing their name, the name will be highlighted (as in a yellow link to their show info window)... Ofcourse, that means that any name would be highlighted, but it's a start... Would look messy if everyone did so all the time though :D
Also, you might want to have a doctor inspect that neck of yours... it looks painfull |

Do you mean the counter? Beacuse that was like that before. Yes, and still seems like a defect :P A counter that basically says 0 when there are 2 people, then magically jumps to 3 when someone else arrives isn't much of a counter. Small issue, but one i was hoping to have fixed. The counters shouldn't say 0, they just shouldn't be there. This is so you won't have counters in private conversations
0 or nothing is still nothing, then magically 3. Again, I consider it a defect, and it was brought up during testing, but nothing was said, so I guess CCP doesn't.

The Cogwheel (Sprocket) is used for Settings that are individual to each Chat channel, but the three horizontal lines icon represents Global Settings for a window. So in the case of the Drone Window, it is a Global Setting that affects all of the Drone UI.
The reason we don't display this Global Settings icon for Chat is to safe space in each stacked Chat window to show more of the chat channel's name CCP Arrow-á-á|-á Senior Game Designer-á|-á @CCP_Arrow |

Quote:Since we were fiddling with message colors anyway we decided we might as well add something that you, our EVE peeps, have asked for: enabling you to highlight your own messages, which you do by toggling "Highlight My Messages" on. Seem a bit of a waste of highlighting tbh... I already know what I wrote and if I need to get back to it for a re-send ctrl+arrow works fine.
Much more useful would be highlighting chat when someone speaks to me, as laid out in this ideas thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=97035 |

neat. when will you add separate indicators for secstatus AND standig stuff on our beloved ones? :)
and refresh the channel's icons when there's a change, without manually switching back and forth... like someone gains global, or joins your fleet, especially the local should update and reflect that immediately. will you fix this in the upcoming decades? :) |

Since we have this cool new highlighting system in place, is it possible to highlight messages in the various chats by their standings?
Grey for neutrals, Orange and Red for enemies, Blue, Green and Purple for fleet mates and another color for ourselves.
Would be cool to know on the spot if the guy I am calling a ****** in Jita Local was not in fact a blue. XD
Also, I see that we have new counters that show how many capsuleers and how many bunnies there are, is it possible to get a "red/wartarget" in system alert counter for local chat member list? Inappropriate signature, CCP Phantom. |

Please, please, add an option to filter messages so we can filter out Dusties but also eve players!
As someone pointed, no need to have 600 dusties spamming in local when we dont care about them. But also, I dont need the 1k capsulers dropping spam on Jita local and lagging my client! (same for big fleet fights) A little filter setting, for the client to ignore one or both would make wonders to client performance.
If that is not possible, just give us the option to disable ALL local messages when needed! |

not sure if this is relevant but will the changes to chat have any impact on the destructive nature of the "incursion local" chat tab which has a nasty habit of overriding and effectively deleting my chatbox setup when i log into a system where an incursion is in effect? |

One question: If I turn off dust bunnies chat in local, will the channel counter still show how many there are in system? Yes, you always see the number of 'Bunnies' even though you hide them from the Member list and/or take their coloring from the chat messages. You can however not hide the chat messages themselves from the chat channel.
If the bunnies are hidden from the member list, then the counter should also be changed. It should only display the number of pilots/bunnies that you have chosen in the settings. Or at least make that another option.
There is no reason to do otherwise. If you don't want the bunnies in the member list, why the hell would you need to know how many are in system ?
Oh yeah, and can you confirm if we can filter out their messages..local spam and all that... |

Am I the only one thats noticed that the two local counter in immediate mode don't add up?
It shows three in the top left, but there is clearly 4 people in the channel?
This is just a mistake I assume, unless I've misunderstod of course :)
Otherwise, this seems like a positive change and more information, I like it........ PS when is local going to delayed mode too please :D |

A very minor change that I absolutely love: Showing the member count on the right side of the window too.
I have my local chat moved off the left side of my screen, so that I only see the list of players. I have no need to read the spam in local, so the chat doesn't need to take up screen space. However previously this would hide the local member count. Now I can see the counter and still keep the spam away! |
