Recently my corporation was contacted by a member of Goonswarm claiming to be their public representative. He said that for a fee of 500,000,000 isk any single member of the corp would be granted immunity from Goonie violence while ice mining, but only in a single system. This sounded absolutely dumb, for obvious reasons. Aside from the steep fee, it only covers one person and only in one system. I didn't want any part of this but one of my members paid up and was mining safely this past day in Actee.

After it turned out that their guy wasn't full of crap, I ended up paying for my corporation (and a friendly orca pilot) to mine safely in Actee. We just got done with a 2 hour mining op there, and everything was fine. So if you get this offer, take them up on it! It's expensive, but much less expensive than not making any money!

I'm the Orca pilot in question, and I was convinced we were going to die. At one point a goon fleet showed up in our belt and killed another miner, but left us alone. Weird guys.

I guess a good way to survive the goons is to just pay them off.
