Well since the patch 2 of my corp members have left eve i have cancelled 1 account and i am pondering over my main account. For me and the people i know in eve who use missiles for there every day activitys what are we supposted to do were defencless train up the new skills which cost me a fortune i may add. So after paying rl money to play eve and with MY TIME i chose to train caldari and missils spending months traing them and testing them having fun as i learnt. Now these skills i payed for in more ways than 1 have been taken away from me made usless on a grand scale and im being forced to retrain weapon systems to compansate , that also means all my goals have been put on hold for, i may add; what looks like months. can not do missions anymore with out the aid of a large group well what happens when im on my own, when there not on line or i just want to be on my own. i was/we were happy doing missions now im left with nothing thats what the game was for me and my friends.
bugs and issues relating to them nar im not bothered so what if the chat is a bit dodgy ill survive. as i have said you have taken away what i payed for. My game is dwafed from the former glory it was only a few days ago i did not and do not want to stop to take time out from what i was doing to train month after month of conpulsive skills. what can i call you guys that will hit hard but wont get this post removed because im thinking it ......

Edited by: Disaster Case on 07/07/2005 08:46:17 I pride myself on not posting in the forums as my opinions may get a bit rash at times. That said, I've had since patch time to think over my feelings and now I can safely say that I completely agree, with a certain extent, with most of the above posts. The day after patch I and a few in my corp were contemplating our situation with the annoyances (bugs and new doped up chick voice alike). We for the most part feel like only 70% of the game that has been promised has been delivered. Granted they are small features but when you tabulate the sheer number of them and the time that passed since their inception... All those small features equal a big hassle. I like Eve alot. I think it has great potential. There is no other choice but to be patient and hope things work out. In the end, I applaud the above posters for voicing their opinions. I see alot of people either 1) not expressing themselves maturally or 2) getting shot-down by over-zelous "I played in Beta and I'm ubber so my opinion is better" forum jockeys. Nice job all :)

Am I the only one who was under the impression that this was a PVP-game to begin with? I'm sorry if you were being sarcastic in your post (that's one of the saddest/funniest I've read in quite some time), but if anything people might say EVE is becoming less PVP. The now fixed bugged-sec-status for the 750k NPCs will really reduce the empire-pirating whether CCP likes it or not.
I'm no PVP'er myself (my combat merits consist of blindly charging into a CA gate-camp, alone, and running from an apoc with hull burning) but I like the sense of danger and added excitement an active PVP game brings. If I wanted a game where nothing but my patience is lost, I'd go back to WoW. /me shudders.

All of Eve is PvP, but if you read the post, it is about Eve becoming a combat game. Not all of us play just for combat and there are other forms of PvP that are just as bloody but you dont bother to use a gun.

I agree with what our saying but the chat box is the main issue for me. It loked far better on the rpevious patc... they should have simply added the new functions like url to the old style chat

PvP means person vs person. CCP attempted to create a multiplayer environment in which people work together and compete together.
A number of great issues, releases and new patches are changing the focus of the game from PvP total to PvP combat. CCP have not fixed the problems or created the original PvP total content that was promised.
It would be nice to see CCP develop the areas they promised and repair the bugs that have been present since beta before concentrating on attracting new customers. From my experience, most ĉolderĈ players feel that a lot of these bugs are being ignored as they are not a method of attracting new customers. Ironically, if people are closing accounts due to the lack of ccp addressal to these issues, one could argue that ccp are winning customers, only to lose the older customer base.

why they replaced/removed the "/me" command in chat is beyond me, i mean this is used in IRC etc etc, is it a mistake or intented, if intended i say the one that implemented that and the one that gave his or hers approval for it should lay off the ***** pipe, get a clue!

The issue with the current chat font is that it is a sans-serif font.
sans-serif = e.g. Arial serif = e.g. Times, Times New Roman
Sans Serif fonts strain the eye when reading bigger masses of texts. The reason Newpapers for example choose serif fonts (like Times) is because it is less straining, more pleasant. Sans Serif Fonts are ok for Titles and headers or highlights, but not for reading bigger sections of texts over prolongued periods of time.
This is a know graphic design thing.

I look at what was supposed to come with Exodus and I wonder why I'm still here deceiving myself into thinking it will ever come.
I have adressed the missing Exodus features a number of times. What you see in the CWE is all content, that's why it's called a content patch. Content does for the most part (about 95%) not require any programming. We wouldn't never have been able to put the last features of EXODUS into the 5% of this patch even if I wanted to (and I really did). But we will.
The small things you mention, like someone said here, if they are the only things wrong, I guess the rest of EVE is in pretty good shape, wouldn't you say?
Oh, and the Tech 1 Mining drones are in this patch, along with a Tech 2 variant. If you have any more specific things which are supposed to be on the market, feel free to list them. (Actually, last time I checked, Hammer did use a list from you.)
Anyways, thanks for the post, keeps me on my toes. _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

No, it's the small things that get to you daily. The chat bugs that make being in a corp a chore and affect your fun. The problems with my mouse and zoom that make my mining difficult. The autopilot that affects my trading and so forth.
Yes, I often enjoy EVE despite them, sometimes I don't and they get me down. The fact remains little ever gets done to resolve them. It doesn't change the fact that seeing the same bug day in day out for 2 years is annoying and needlessly so.
We're full steam ahead on the main line, but for goodness sake it's a bumpy ride.
The fact is Outposts and Dreadnoughts and freighters were nothing to do with Exodus, and now, 7 months late on Exodus, I really no longer care whether they're content or coding, all I know is non-Exodus stuff seems to be getting far more attention than the missing parts of Exodus.
Maybe behind the scenes it's in progress, but please, for the sake of the few of us not salivating over bigger guns, bother to TELL US once in a while where these features are.
I mean COSMOS and such features must surely be coding, yet a random asteroid spawning which would have complimented Exodus greatly still can't be done? You've had to band-aid low sec with Zydrine when if you'd managed what you set out to, it wouldn't have been needed in the first place.

You've never had a problem with them because you've never used one.
Basic Mining drones are Sub-tech 1 and Tech 1 mining drones have been missing since day one.

Ov, even after repairing the mining drones, will you be address the other 'minor'* issues in the near future?

btw the building requirements for TII drones are rather harsh... (lvl V in two respective science skills) I mean they are drones not even HACs have that high building requirements.
Oh well, time for some specialisation.

I do not agree. The inability to fix tiny simple bugs destroys the player base's confidence in the devs' abilities and therefore raises questions in our minds like "If they can't fix something this simple, does the new stuff they just added even work? Can I rely on it?"
Oveur, It's all about "Quality Of Product". I could build awesome glowing dancing computers for people but if the buttons fell off when pressed and the CD-ROM ejected itself at random intervals AND IT WAS NEVER FIXED, EVER, I promise you people would quickly begin to lose interest. It's simple Quality 101. No rocket science involved...

Can CCP just release a TTF of the old font, and let us plug that back in?

Valentine, I had the same problem with Warhead Upgrades in Sinq Liason region after the patch. The regional market showed none available until I docked at one of the "university" stations and suddenly they were available in that station (at a reasonable cost). The "clear cache" workaround I have seen posted elsewhere did not clean up this particular issue.
I'm going to check this same "procedure" tonight when I get home (if I get home through the rush hour traffic).
