Oh back to roots. Facts:
1) this game has no PvP. Victim has no chance pick if want to PvP or not. What PvP you will expect from one man in Bestower and four guys in Cruisers or Battleships?
2) Negotiation? With who? These guys does have pure and simple goal PKing you.
3) game as is does give you 0 chance to avoid this kind of problem. Bugged local channel, my local channel have all over time 50+ more people in even in 0.0 system deep in space where I'm alone in system. If you warp in you have no chance break warp and after you warp in warp point there are PKers and it mean end to your ship and escape capsule before your screen even load on.
4) You can't insure your equipment, which is actually irreplaceable due to poor drop and screwed loot tables.
5) insuring cost huge ISK amount. You pay back due four weeks new ship if you pick lowest insurance.
In all scenarios people who aren't PKers or pirates loosing track, why I would pay for it? Game cost me real money and real time so why I would do it to be only ****ed off by bunch of guys who does all to **** me off?
You forgot main point in my post. I'd lost in game many friends due of it and probably I will leave soon too because I will not have people to play with. I lost only once my ship due to PKers it was 2 months ago and guy who did it was Lord Zap. These griefers are for me like mosquitoes they aren't worth even thinking about them. I want from CCP fix actual situation where you must work on your gear months then it's destroyed in few seconds. I can't recover it and person who did all that mess get no punishment at all.
PvP is when both players do fight not only one.

Battleships have very little point at the moment aside from mining.
they move incredibly slowly, for one, and would be sitting ducks if a group of people picked on them while mining. So I say 'let them waste tens of millions of a superminer' because if the vocal anti-piracy lobby gets their way, players will start getting ganked in roid fields, due to a lack of other options.
But at least it'll make mining a bit more exciting ;)
Also, now I think about it, these current changes (no pirates in empire space) could work out trumps for the pirates in the end, as the more expensive ore/traderuns will *require* going through no-sec space. The gankings will be swift and brutal.
But if I see another thread moaning about someone getting straight-up ganked in 0.0 space, I'll probably puke.
Then activate my flame thrower. .

If the pirate element gets nerfed any more then I'll be cancelling my subscription! Money talks....eh....;-)
I really don't want to be playing a game with no dangers. I haven't had anyone attack me in Eve yet and I have been playing since the beginning. Empire space is TOO safe IMO.

Aelita, even without the bugged local, it's not hard to avoid PK psychos. the hardcore griefers have -10 sec status, they *cannot* enter the hundreds of empire space systems.
So, to avoid them, stay in Empire space. Simple.
Oh, the 'pod kills' option on the map screen still works too. And if your route takes you through any system with a glow, you could die.
Insurance has to be expensive, or it would get exploited.
rares/equipment cannot be insured. What price would you put on a 250mm Gauss rail? trade says 5-7 Million, recycle window says >20k. As with ship insurance, you would only get the base mineral value for an item. ie. rares are worth nothing.
It's always seemed obvious to me, but if you don't want to risk your ship, don't go out to where the pirates were banished to. And don't always expect to take the shortest route between two points either. It just doesn't work like that.
You could also try fitting your ship with counter measures, such as an MWD, a rack of afterburners, ECM mods, warp core stabliser, rather than going for pure 'greed or speed' (all mid/low slots full of afterburners/cargo expanders/overdrives, etc.).
There are many, many ways around the problem, going from the simple - 'Avoid', to the complex - 'get a team together, and chase them out/shoot them down'.
Admittedly there are things that need fixing, such as warp-in lag. And some way of blocking the jumpgate itself (although both pirates and non-pirates will be able to use them, which won't improve the situation in the slightest, but it will be more fun for all, and more ships destroyed, one way or another). .

This is part of the game, you must protect your assets, if you are so annoyed at losing them to pirates just mine in a lower sec system.
As for the comment on PVP being a two way think yes it is but you both don't have to agree on the action taken. Its tough luck if one is more agressive. -----------------------------

I disagree because due this attitude people does leaving game. It's shortsighted and it MUST BE CHANGED. YOu simply can't loose all for what you work long in few sec no matter of what. People simply will not carry over it and leave. You forgot main thing we does pay for game and if we don't get fun we will not pay for game. I complain because I'm loosing for this attitude (call it game feature) friends. CCP does loosing customers.
CCP could make ships with 10 times more hitpoints to be worth of time spend in or something similar. It's simply dumb that your gear which cost you days of play time can be so easily vanished.
Who want play dumb games? Me? You?

Note: Even simple insurance for gear would help. It would make play for some people miserable because I guess insured gear will not be after ship destroy in his loot. This will learn people to take care about asset and **** off a bit pirates because they will get nothing on insured ship. In this case I would be fine because then I can laught in griefer's face when he does boom and he get NOTHIG.

Death in Eve is pretty harsh, until reverse engineering is in and we can get blueprints of our beloved pirate loot, I would probably hold onto a few spares for right now.
The latest patch didn't help much either. I'm glad I stocked up on a few 250mm prototype gauss before CCP wrecked loot tables. =/ ------

I could be wrong about understanding what you want but this is my general understanding.
You want it so everything you get you can never lose and if you do you just get the same isk back for the value lost.
You don't want anyone to attack you unless you let them.
Where is the fun in that, there would be no interest in the game at all. Every one would be riding in battleships mining top asteroids with pirates getting the tea. And as for threatening to leave because you pay and CCP won't change to your demands. Well I say just take a flying jump. and if I see you in space I will be opening fire whatever system I am in sod the CONCORD, In hope of driving you away.

I'd like to thow in my 2 cents worth here... people are saying that the PK pirates have been forced out to 0.0 space.. Not true.. Go to Obe in Forge.. somewhere along the way in a .4 system you'll get locked up by a PK'er.. now why or how he can do this, attempt to PK you in a "high sec" system I don't know.. but this has happened in any number of lower sec systems. Yes by all means move the boobs/griefers out to 0.0 space.. yes the warp lag is a HUGE advantage to the campers (but you can counter with MWD... start your MWD just before you exit warp and you lose no speed when you exit warp and depending on your MWD a minium of 1200+m/s to gate. the Griefers have little chance to bugger you.. and you can flip them the bird on the way by). Yes there are some serious issues with Eve.. it's still pretty fun to play.. generalized idiocy aside, and a lot of the people I've met are top drawer.. (YES even a MoO member was decent in chat... I just wouldn't want to be in the same system). CCP has a great product here.... it was released for financial reasons too soon.. much content that it desperately needs is missing, many of the balances are an issue for the PvP.. We can rant and rave here.. flame each other silly... but as long as CCP can glean some useful info from our assorted ravings ... AMen..

Well, only lazy people, idiots, or some combination are the ones who get caught at gates by camping PKers.
If you are on your toes you can never be caught, period. A faster ship, bookmarks, etc. only helps.
I've had idiotic corp members take a cruiser and autopilot right into 0.0 space, no insurance on the ship, no clone..... flying the thing asleep at the wheel or otherwise AFK.
Then when they get hosed by some PK'ing corp, they ****-and-moan about how terrible they were for doing it, the unfairness of it all, etc.
I always ***** them out and they don't get a second cruiser for a long while, atleast not from the corp hangar or from corp isk.
We have other members who have never been and probably never will be caught with their pants down no matter how far they travel.

bah
im not a pirate but dont agree with anything you say
player pirates are part of the game
if you get killed by them its your fault
solution = while drinking your coco, waiting for mother to make your dinner - pilot your fluffy ship around nasty scary places like 0.0 sectors- pirates can be avoided.
better still. just stay docked at a station safe and warm - and just produce for people. that would be r interesting - enjoy

Aelita.. keep in mind that the game is constantly evolving. The "problems" we have now conserning PC pirates may well change in the future, with the addition of level 2 technology, cloaking devices and such, the game will go through changes galore. Give CCP a chance to respond to the demands made by the playerbase,,, they are actually working on it. PS. Once again I am astonished that so many people respond to the taunts of the "pirates". In my experience, the players with the loudest mouths, both on the message boards and in game, have the least ammount of skill or dedication to the game and its enviroment. These are the people to ignore. Giving in to pressure exerted by these people only makes them more annoying.

I wonder why it is always the mono-syllabic non constructive posts by self-called pirates that make it first after frustrated posts on this forum? Is it campers who switch between game and forums? Not enough to frustrate kill+pod people in game? Never tired of posting day after day the same blabber using the same words?
I can't help but seeing the true frustration in the original poster of this thread, someone who plays the game, not a newbie, someone who met frustration repeadly, not a single event. I'm not advocating he is right or wrong, or how he should or not play the game, but I think he's honest and deserves respect, not the aggressive, non constructive posts that could be cut'n paste of other similar replies, who lack basic respect and would get anyone discredited instantly in any other situation in life.
Why add up to his frustration? What is achieved? It's related to a game, show some fairplay...

No as I'd say in start there are so big inbalances between what people can loose and how they cold defend own property.
1) PKer have all adventages and kill is too fast 2) Victim work weeks and loose gear no chance to insure gear and cargo 3) not all peple carry over fact that he did work long time and lost it in few seconds due to bug or game inbalance 4) call people carebears isn't solution 5) push people to high sec (victims) or low sec (PKers and Pierates) is no solution 6) game need motivate people to move in 0.0 arreas actual PvP push them back from it 7) people will not pay for game to be able use only half space it's same for people who doesn't want PvP , but it's true even for pirates. Firs who did whine about high sec sentry guns and CONCORD were pirates. I newer did say kick pirates only to 0.0. All time I'd call for increasing hit points and make PvP last longer at least minutes. I personaly would prefer PvP one by one last at least 10 minutes. 8) this game need to eliminate griefers == peple who does play only for one reason kill someones fun. 9) CCP should take care more about mayority of customers and hardcore players isn't mayority at all. 10) Death penalty can't be so frustrating. I know few people who did imediately after being destroyed cancel cubscription.
As I did say increase ship hit points by ten times and allow insure all gear and cargo. It will make PvP a bit balanced and people who does fly in defense less ships will have chance to flee.

You know 0.0 space is completly lawless the way it should be. And I am sure YOU were aware of this.

I go to 0.0 space often. Never really encountered a problem with pcs, but came close a couple of times.
I don't see a real problem with pirates in 0.0 space. That's where they should be. And they should be able to run back where ever they like. That's what pirates do. You have an advantage of knowing who did it to you though, which as the system currently stands, you should not, or there would be a security hit.
I can't think of a game mechanic that would represent a working system at this point. But on some level we should be able to report crimes wherever they occur and possibly affect faction ratings of the offender. The key word being possibly. I think the bounty system would be of the best use here, but useless.
That kind of AI and flexibility you aren't going to find in a MMORPG. You need a real GM present. Even a real GM may make you seek bounty hunters to resolve your grievance. So you have to be willing to take even more risks and actions to get satisfaction.

Tulak - "Nice work guys. But next week you can meet this griefers (pardon pirates ;) in your region."
I *have* met them, I died too, mostly due to not paying attention. But it doesn't bother me in the slightest. He podded me too, but that was merely an inconvenience, as my clone was out of the deepfreeze and ready to go in minutes. I grabbed another ship on my way back to base, silently vowed fearful revenge on my attacker, and got back to my day-to-day.
If losing a cruiser is more than you can handle, either don't get one, or don't go anywhere dangerous until you've got enough money to cover your crap. I learnt this the hard way, and haven't looked back since.
And if you are anti-pvp, why do you need rare guns? against NPC's they really don't make much difference (two stabilisers will give you the equivalent). So why mount them? especially if you can't afford to replace them. .

good lord not this again. The Pirates finally start finding some good locations to park, and the carebears jump out and start complaining cause they lost an ibis. There is a point when CCP needs to start ignoring these people and look at what's better for the game's health no whining newbs that shouldn't be outside empire space anyway.

Who does talk about pirates? PKers aren't pirates.
Sykosys and Eve'lyn you are noob, PKers or you never face fact being attacked or involved in PvP. I lost my ship in PvP only once and it was more than month ago. I never did whine about being killed all what I did say is I'm loosing frineds and game loosing players.
Your answers aren't constructive so please leave alone my post. All what I say curen game state pushing more and more people to cancel subscription and I hate to see it. How CCP and you people can be so blind don't see true problem behind? If people will leave because CCP will allow bunch of people kill CCP's business then we are all in wrong train and we should leave just in time.
People without experince please keep hands off this post. I does play from beta and I have same complains as in beta. Until now I only keep my voice silent, but situation is really rampant. Last night I lost another friend in game and I want to stop it.
I repeat it once more again, who can talk about PvP when ship can be destroyed in less than 10 seconds and you need work longer than week to get that ship? It could be called balance in game? C'mon you can't be serious if you will disagree.

Bolka, some people have more than one PC, or in my case, two monitors, I can chat with people on #eve-chaos, or my other clan channels, I can post on many different forums, and I can do all my IM/MSN stuff too, while the game is still running.
btw, I'm not saying I'm a pirate, etc. here, just pointing out how these people (myself included) manage to throw out all these posts.
and the reason you are seeing the same responses in several threads is that the thread starters for most of the threads never bother checking the first few pages of the forum, to find a similar post, and add their thoughts to it. No, instead, they make *new* threads.
As they seem to have not read the previous threads, and will probably only ever come back to read 'their' thread, I feel it my responsibility to keep them up to date.
unnecessary posts spawn unnecessary replies.
It's just a 'forum thing'. .

I agree and I think too that actualy the rewards/risk and cost/death are way out of bound.
Risk/Reward is almost inverted, the less risks you take the more reward you get, but at the same time, game become utterly boring, and people quit...
Cost/Death is astronomic for a PvP oriented game (if Eve is still PvP...), insurances cost too much, and you only get back a portion of the ship cost, but nowaday nobody care of losing a cruiser, it's the rare modules that matter !
There's something wrong, in every complain there's something to learn, don't throw away people's words just on assumptions...

in answer to your points in your last post point by point-
1. PKers only have the advantages they have built up over time by developing their skills and gaining better ships and equipment. You to can also do this over time. This is not unfair. Everyone has equal opportunities in this game.
2. Work a bit longer to get insurance or spare ships or money. Then if killed you can replace all.
3. The last patch helped balance things much better than before. It used to be inbalanced but now it is balanced. This is incorrect.
4. Carebear = someone who moans about getting killed or moans about how game dangerous.
5. This is the way it is. It is a good solution. You know where the pirates are. If you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
6. You can go into 0.0 - go with escorts or in a big convoy - other people would go with you if you asked. Otherwise ninja-mine in fast ship.
7. I dont understand this - you want pvp to last 10 minutes to give you time to run away i assume. It lasts as long as it takes to blow you up depending how strong your ship is. You can strengthen it with shield and armour boosters - i advise you research such. Ever seen a micro - warp drive - research to.
8. Griefers = only a problem to carebears (see above) Some people buy this game purely to kill other players... And your problem with that is what? That they kill you ??? I havent got a problem with this (i am not a pirate)
9. By CCP listening to people complainong like this they alter the statistics - usually to make it better for pirates inadvertantly. Be careful what you ask for it may come true.
10. ive lost 10 ships so far. Apart from intensive counselling and antidepressant prescription i have got on with my life. thats the risk of the game.
