"It's a game........"
Of course; so if some game corporation decides to play it the lame way, and they get called on it... there's no reason to get upset? Especially when, like you said, Huff supposedly doesn't care how they're perceived. It's simply people who aren't directly affected stirring the pot and getting their own entertainment out of it, this way... part of the game, nothing more.
Unless Huff actually cannot handle the idea of being seen as lame. But then changing that public opinion is entirely up to them...

I guess peoples perception of lame varies somewhat
P.S : My comments were made in regards to the actual war declaration, and nothing more.

"I guess peoples perception of lame varies somewhat"
Oh, definitely ^^ but considering how many games (both computer and real) go out of their way to establish some sort of order, that allows to pit opponents of comparable skill against one another? I'd dare a guess it's good indication that idea of "lame" is quite popular, and few people take interest in watching contests that boil down to one guy sucker-punching another guy that's three times smaller, once, and that being it (possibly repeating it couple times if the smaller guy tries to stand up)
Because let's be honest, that's a boring show for everyone except maybe the guy who throws that punch. Because even though the possibility of small guy managing to kick the large one in the nuts lingers somewhere there, it's just too small to happen often enough to make it entertaining... ;s

Frakri said it already, 'tis a game... you picked to play a role that comes with cheap name tags, live with it. Was your own choice. If that makes you upset now, do something about it yourself...

First of all, I am not the one throwing a "hissy" fit. The peeps that are upset about HUFF's actions are doing that. I'm just pointing out that they should either put up or shut up. Words mean nothing without the action to back it up.
Secondly, I don't understand your comments about "cheap" name tags and me doing something about it. Please explain. beacuse your not making any sense whatsoever.

It's discussed/explained in the posts just a couple above yours ^^

Sorry, but we all can speak if we like, and there is nothing you can do about it. If you dont like what we say, though.
Declaring war on a newbie corp does just makes your corp look like a bunch of chickens: you dont dare play with the big guys so you have to pick on the rookies.
If you play EVE to be humiliated, you are doing a fine job

Originally by: Zarek Reynn I see that many people have criticized Huff Technologies, a corporation of seasoned veterans, for declaring war on Eve University, a corporation supposedly devoted to education of new pilots. And yet none of these same people have found anything wrong in Eve University, with its 250+ members, declaring war on our one member honest hauling corporation. Shame on you! Has your hypocrisy no limits?
It is this unprovoked and cowardly attack by Eve University against the 'little man' that has exposed them for the evil that they truly are. I applaud the brave men and women of Huff Technologies for their courage to defy public opinion by fighting evil even when it wears the mask of respectability.

Latest report from the front - Sheep turn wolves: Eve Uni launches guerrilla strikes against Huff.
The Caldari system of Nourvukaiken continues to be the scene of the on going struggle between Eve University and Huff Technologies. With the faculty and students caught off guard by HuffÆs initial aggression, the pace of the conflict has been dictated by Huff, be it engagements occurring outside the Caldari Steel Factory which hosts both the main university campus and, to the concern of station security, recently a Huff Technologies depot, or raids by Huff Technology on Eve-uni student mining operations. Howveer reports by capsule pilots docking at the station and engineers working on the star gate to Nourvukaiken in Iidoken suggest that not all lessons on the timetable are blue sky theory.
The first of three engagements occurred today in Iidoken at the Nourvukiken Star gate. Alarmed operators of the installation report a lone Eve-U frigate arriving from Nourvukaiken to be immediately set upon by a Huff Technologies Rupture blockading the gate. However reluctantly, the operators followed protocol to protect the installation from damage, blocking either combatant from using to flee. Engineers working on the struts of the gate suggest that simultaneously the E-Uni pilot scrambled the warp drives of the Huff ship and what is speculated to have been an ambush of Eve-U frigates jumped through the gate to close the trap on the Rupture pilot. Sensor logs from the engineers appears to have been affected by the intensity of electronic warfare and weapons fire used upon the Rupture, for upon its destruction the capsule neither warped away nor was destroyed, appearing to simply vanish. However eager students of the university were able to employ probes to locate capsule subjected to this odd phenomena, unfortunately the capsule did not survive the rescue attempt.
Subsequent engagements occurred in the universities home system, the first of which was a hit and run strike against the Huff Tech fleet maintaining a siege at the Caldari Steel station in response to the attack on their colleague. The organisation of Eve-uni contrasts sharply with the previous fleet battle two days ago outside the station where several Huff Tech Battleships and Heavy Assault Cruisers decimated the Eve-uni task force sent out to meet it. As opposed to the previous disorganisation, the Eve-uni squadron focusing its fire solely upon an Raptor, destroying it in spite of the hail of fire from the Huff fleet which managed to destroy a number of Eve-uni frigates involved. Mission completed the remaining Eve-uni ships quickly faded away.
The final engagement of the day is notable for the loss of the ship and equipment it was outfitted with. A wolf pack of Eve-uni frigates and cruisers was reported by System traffic controllers to be pursing a Huff Tech Deimos back and forth between planets and moons of the Nourvukiken system before finally pinning down it down. Though in economic terms the loss of such a vessel is comparatively minor to a corporation with the resources of Huff Technologies to draw upon, to loose such to ships a fraction of its value piloted by what are characterised as ônoobsö must sting a little.
Further reports of the hostilities between Eve University and Huff Technologies as they occurà

As a newish player i have been with the Uni sence the day i started, i left for about 3 weeks to do some hardcore mineing with another corp only to have a war dec happen to them 3 days after i joined. In that war i was killed about 3 times, but only when i was in a combat ship, was a few times that "shydow Fist" could of killed me mineing but they did not, they also did not pod kill me, i was just a little noob and they where after the directors. I understood and it was fun to fight knowing i would not lose my 3 implants that i STILL owe 2 ppl 50mil each for.
Then lucky me rejoins the uni only to be in another war, lol. What i cannot understand is huff's strategy with this war, of all the ships and pods that huff have killed, i'm sure only one had more then 2mil SPs (that was MM), seems they want poorest members to suffer the most damage, so my guess is that they want the new players to leave first before they take on the directors, a few have left allready but most of us are 100% behind the uni till the end.
I've had one engagement with huff ships and i have to say, it was not fun at all, mineing with a friend in a .9 system with 2 destroyers(18 jumps away from HQ system) when 2 huff ships popin, one was a BS the other a T2 frig (i think). We both warped for the station 2 seconds after, but 2 hits later we where each in pods and down 12mil in mods(for some reason our mineing lasers did little damage to them), luckly my pod was allready in warp and docked at 50% hull. I'm sure huff are very pleased with that battle, taking out 2 extreamly deadly mineing destroyers, belonging to 2 players that have less then 5% Of SPs in combat skills. So now that i know they like the taste of weaponless miners, i'm stuck between loesing three +3 implants while mineing or staying docked and playing WoW till the wars over. If huff agreed to not pod kill, then i would be very eger for combat with them, ships are cheep and replaceable.
*Heads to the shop to buy a copy of WoW*

Originally by: Silentsnake I joined Eve-U yesterday in an attempt to help them.
I had envisaged Huff would be fighting in ceptors and possibly cruisers. I brought a ceptor and a maller just in case.
What I saw just floored me.
Huff sat outside Eve-u station with:
1 Zealot for close range
1 scorp to jam any of the small bewildered frigates who might actually find the fire button.
1 Raven - aligned - at range
1 Apoc also aligned - at range
Ev-u tried to fight. MM came outside the station in his Dominix and the rest of Eve-u also undocked.
MM was jammed and died in about 7 seconds, everyone else died quickly. The new guys who were all now in pods, sat outside the station not knowing what to do were podded one by one.
In over 2 years in eve and over 7 years experience in online game this is the lowest thing I have ever seen.
I'm going to try to round up some old friends tonight and see if I can persuade them to join Eve-u.
That actually makes me sick. Reading down the thread I did think for a while that there might be some fun in it, but no. I can't understand the mentality here. It really needs to stop. I'm surprised and pleased to read those two war reports where Eve-U managed to kill some Huff ships, but I shudder to think of the number of war reports that would read like the quote above.

dont let them bring the fight to you take it to them
you could join an alliance then unjoin, that hands teh war over to the alliance,
best yet hire some mercs to kill them
mercs are pretty cheap cos the market is flooded, so that is probably ur one true option
and this is lame of them
PH currently doesnt accept contracts but for u we may make an exception: contact odine or insuperable

i have posted this thread my opinions before and i was lead to believe that huff is going to just **** off some ppl to get free ES wars..
obviously they are not that smart.. instead they just camp low SP players to station and get easy kills.....
i thought Avon was right about these ppl and respected hes opinion (dont take this negative way Avon). but it sadly looks like they enjoy that they might be ruining many players interest in EVE.

I dunno, maybe. Thing is, EU have managed to get some good kills, an experience many Eve players have NEVER had. I think if EU posted in this thread that enough was enough, Huff would stop. I bloody hope they would anyway. I'm sure Huff know they can't "win" this war, simply because victory would be bad for them in the long run.
They are bad guys, and proud of the fact, but they know when to stop.
