Actually that was my raptor that was destroyed outside the station 2 days ago. My pod did not vanish, I went LD for about 30 secs to find myself in a pod. Well, good job none-the-less...you deserve credit for the kill. I must say the EU has fought valiantly and deserve respect. You have shown that good leadership and tactics make a difference in this game once and for all. All the whinning about game imballance just went out the door when we declaired war on you. KUDOS! I hope you are all benefitting from this conflict...I know Huff is and we are really enjoying the fight.

I have to actually agree with this, the difference war commanders have made is quite astonishing. I don't think I ever truly understood how much of an impact a decent commander makes to a fleet until last night. Someone who is cool under fire and has a brain about tactics can make a huge difference in a fight. -----------

Yep I agree. With pretty much the same people who got shot in the first battle, incl. myself, we managed to do quite well later. Only difference being tactics and command, and what a difference it makes!
Funny thing with the smartbomb domi was that we just said amongst ourselves that's what we would fit. We didn't expect to go down to one minutes later
I guess we learn from our mistakes and move forward again.

Why has this thread got a yellow bar next to it? I looked at all the pages and didnt notice a dev or keiron post.
I would like a button which would take me to the next "yellow bar post" in a forum thread so i dont have to trawl through pages of people repeating each other to find the comment that matters.

Hmmà I just love this game. Personally I really like to see all these comments by the haters out there and their lame attempt to jump on their moral high horse and bad mouth Huff Technologies for this war on EU. To you haters out thereàyou have the right to your opinions but you look like idiots posting all these comments about how lame Huff Tech is for prosecuting this war. The fact is both sides have profited from this conflict tremendously by exposing oversights in tactics, command and setups. Eve University has shown us some really cool tactics for dealing with superior enemies using tech 1 ships and consistent group tactics. I am absolutely sure that those members of EU that are participating in this conflict are having just as much fun in this war as we are. They have put up a much more honorable fight then some of our past opponents and at least earned my respect if not the respect of our corporation.
To those of you in EU I say Hooo-rha-looo and take my hat off to you. Good Fight, I will see you again on the field of battle.

No matter what people think of the decision of Huff to declare war on Eve U; I am a simple trader and can not fend off attackers. Therefore, I have given 20 million isk to Huff in an attempt to appease their lust for destruction. As a noob I can't fight them, but with this gesture I hope that they will cease fire on Eve U and all the noobs such as myself. I know alot of people in my corp want to fight them and thats commendable..but I'm just learning the game and survival is the most important thing to me. I almost lost my iteron, and had I been killed I would have lost all my isk which was tied into my cargo. Don't think of me as cowardly but I just want to do something to help all the other noobs in Eve U. Anyway, no one in EVE U even told me that we were at war and that people would be attacking me. I mean no disrespect to my corp, its just that I can't afford to fly around in an indy and get killed all the time. Hopefully we can just surrender and get this over with. We are not a combat corp so there is no honor to lose. Whats the point of staying in a war with veteran players anyway? Anyway, I say lets just forget this mess and get back to learning the game.

It would be fun if FE jumped in on EUs side and helped them out. I have a feeling the huff pilots would not like fighting a big alliance with experienced pilots.

Oh, you mean the alliance they helped create?
The one that evolved from F-E the corp, which was vastly more powerful than the alliance that now has that name?
Not really sure Huff would be all that worried tbh. ______________________________________________

As an ex member of Eve Uni I think this type of post and pervading attitude is missing the point. While I am sure that some members of the corp will both enjoy and benefit from the conflict, Huff have taken away any choice that these people have in the matter.
Eve University does a fantastic job in instilling a fundamental understanding of the game. This THEN allows its members to decide on an ingame direction, before they move on to another corporation that suits this preference.
The Uni allowed its members to sample every facet of the game already (including an insight into PvP) without forcing them down a set path. Unfortunately this war dec (with minimal justification for what that's worth) takes away this freedom - you WILL PvP!
Either way Eve University will be around a long time after this war has ended as will it's ethos of support and advice for all. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger
One last thing, just make sure you don't pass on too many tricks of the trade to Huff

I just dont get you. I really dont.
Meh, dont go too hard on him Meliah. This sort of thing underlines the point why this war is pretty cheap on Huff's part, we'll perhaps I should rephrase that given how many battleships etc they've lost, but anyway... People seem to forget what its like to be a new player, struggling to learn the mechanics of the interface and game.
I dont know what time zone you're on, I dont think we've met Tyne.
I recommend you read the Corp mail, particularly from the CEO/guild leader/boss Morning Maniac. To do this click on the button labled "EVEMAIL"; In the window that pops up click upon the "CORP" tab; scroll down through the list of names in the top left pane until you see Morning Maniac and then click on his portrait; click on the messages that appear on the right, there are quite a few that relate to the war.
Another thing you can do is keep an eye on the Eve uni forums. Theres a link to them in the message of the day in the "Eve University" public channel. To join that channel click on the "Channels and Mailing lists" button, then click on the "create/join" button at the top and enter "Eve University"; then press OK.
Regarding the war itself, we have no say in it. Huff Technologies unilaterally declared war upon us. No reason has been given, nor demands made. Even though you're a new player and most of them have been playing for 1-2 years they will not scruple to attack you. The war wont end until Huff retract it.
Moreover in another low move they have implanted spies in the corp, so do not mention the location of where you might be etc either in corp or Eve-uni chat, only discuss such with people that you know in private conversations. While a perfectly acceptable practice in most situations, it shows their claim that this is to introduce newbies to pvp for the weak sham it is, we have a constant turnover of newplayers, how can a newbie be trusted to take part and learn from a war when any of us newbies are potential traitors?
Most of the action has occured near/in our headquaters system of Nourvukaiken but avoiding that wont protect you, so be on your guard. If you take a look at the corp mail you'll find a list of Huff members, add them to your buddies list by doing the following: click on "People and Places"; click on the "Buddies" tab, make sure that "Character" is selected in the drop down box, enter a name of a Huff member into the search box and click upon "Search"; in the window that pops up right click on the person and select "Add to addresbook". Now keep an eye on local: Make sure that local is displaying portraits by click on the "member list" icon at the top right (the crowd); detach local chat from any other chat tabs you have and place it above them, turn it transparent by clicking on the circle-dot icon in the window frame so that it doesnt block too much of the screen; regularly scroll up and down through the list; any "buddies" will appear in the list of people with a green dot against their name; if any do appear you're not safe.
If you wish to continue trading throughout this war I highly recommend fitting two or more "Warp Core Stabalizers" to try to ensure that you cant be pevented from warping by a ship warp scrambling you. If you're using route often I recommend considering creating so called "instas" to enable you to jump directly between gates.
Whatever you think of Huff's cited motivation for this war, its value for new players such as myself whom relish the challange of taking on experienced players while having a tiny fraction of their skill points, this war is costing the game new players.

"I really don't see why people are making such a big deal out of this."
People make the fuss because it's equivalent of a 30 year old bullying pre-schooler out of their lunch money... plain lame.
So people call it as they see it, simple as that.
(every good conflict requires the bad guy, the good guy and dedicated bunch of forum hoes to make a mountain-sized issue out of it ;s
jo.. ur pretty much always rite with what u say.. but this time u arnt...
EVE is a game, where everyone makes their own paths, read the EVE box, its pretty clear they want us to steal, plunder, loot and kill to get ahead.. Its so very far from bullies stealing lunch money in RL.
HUFF decide their own fun, and as long as they keep it to the rules, anything goes...
It wouldnt be me though, i get nothing from ganking or killing week old players.
My advise to EU would be to get organised, im sure many PVP vets have other chars whom may be able to help, by joining ur corp for a temp period of time.
Also, im sure their are some 2 bit MERC corps out there whom would maybe like the publicity from such a high profile job as this, that they may even do the contract for nothing.
Some1 mentioned earlier that it was a no win situation for HUFF, and in that i kinda agree... they are trully expected to win, and losing even a HAC would put EU ahead.

Few points I would like to make:
- Tyne, please read your eve mail and corp mails, we try to give advice to stay alive. But I understand that it's not always possible Do ask advice if and when you need it, that's what we're there for. - We established that Huff wears the black hats in this conflict, our side wears the white, enough said. - Again, many many MANY THANKS for all the advice and support. As stated, the command and tactics make THE difference and we couldn't have put up the fight we have done (and will do as long as is needed) without your advice and assistance.

darth, am not saying this is something that one can't or shouldn't do in game, or anything like that... just that's simply cheap, and there's no point in pretending otherwise.
you know how you keep saying how plenty of PvP'ers play it cheap too, because they just blob up and gank? Well, these people also decide to have their own fun, they keep it to the rules and they make their own path like the EVE box says. Does it prevent you from thinking and saying they're using lame tactics? Nope. Hey, you might even be quite right with that feeling, too.
It's the very same thing -- we have opinions on others' play style, we express them, that's all ^^

I dont understand why people are whineing or flaming on here in regards to this war..Both corps have given congrats to each other on how well the other side did.I think these two corps should be given big cheers for achieving a pvp event that ended in such high spirits.
Many corps should take note of how they handled this and how they conducted themselves to each other after it was over. Maybe other corps could learn a few things about how they represent themselves ingame and on forums.
Kudos to both your corps!

Originally by: Zarek Reynn I see that many people have criticized Huff Technologies, a corporation of seasoned veterans, for declaring war on Eve University, a corporation supposedly devoted to education of new pilots. And yet none of these same people have found anything wrong in Eve University, with its 250+ members, declaring war on our one member honest hauling corporation. Shame on you! Has your hypocrisy no limits?
It is this unprovoked and cowardly attack by Eve University against the 'little man' that has exposed them for the evil that they truly are. I applaud the brave men and women of Huff Technologies for their courage to defy public opinion by fighting evil even when it wears the mask of respectability.
Pay attention, you said " Our one man corp" Who's one man corp? Huffs? But but... huff just said that they proudly steal with their main characters. Huff not only grifers but also liars? Nothing new.
