Clarification please?
Quote:On May 21, 2013, our web servers came under unusually heavy load which resulted in connection issues for all associated services that rely on the web servers, such as the EVE Launcher and the client repair tool. Our engineers have been investigating the issue with top priority and when this was written the investigation remains underway and will continue until the problem has been identified and services have been fully restored.

There was nothing wrong with the previous "launcher". Click desktop icon, up comes launcher window, then click button to run Eve client . Quick and painless. What was wrong with it?
I'm still buggered with today's trash update, with error logs and incompatible protocols. Come on folks, test before you deploy.

For those of you running repair.exe over and over again until something happens are you seeing an error like this when it doesn't work:
File "repairTool\repairUI.pyc", line 97, in Start File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 199, in Repair File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 331, in Restore File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 389, in GetRepairUrl File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 234, in GetRepairInfo File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 146, in SafeUrlOpen An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host: 'http://client.eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt'> Total Runtime: 0h02m34s
I see this every time I run repair.exe as administrator which is now close to 10 times. |

Really, why do we need an exe file to launch an exe file. |

The repair tool is under heavy load, but it works eventually, you just have to keep running it until it it starts downloading and successfully repairs. |

Well wouldn't you know right after I posted this message repair.exe works and I can get in now via exefile.exe. Launcher still doesn't work but who cares about that. |

GÇódownload: the launcher from page 1 and doing the steps that you are told to do!
GÇó then it telling you that it fails hard and ccp suck
GÇó but you are a bro and you klick on the rapiar.exe in your eve folder
GÇóyou klick on it and nothing will happen - but after 5-10min later the repair.exe starts
GÇó now you are happy but it "Starting..." and doing nothing for about 10-20min...(havn't stoped time)
GÇó you think it works now until it telling you that it failing to download!
GÇó but you are going to the "Bin" Folder and open up the "ExeFile" and it might work!

You don't want to deal with the hassle of even a false positive detection. The patch there is from CCP itself and it's the same package that comes from patch server itself. Just hang tight then, CCP will fix this eventually through they're own patch server. I just saw need to write this here so people don't need to petition everything. Contributing with my best I can't discuss the details, but I will point out there is a 17 day gap in my posting history, so trust that I've got good reason to recommend patience and not trying a quick fix.
I'll wait for CCP to fix it, and download the entire client again if necessary, even if I can't play for a few days. |

Also, once the new launcher works for you and you login, all settings are reset essentially. You can however run your eve.exe and have all your old settings and shortcuts as they were....
you just need to close the client and reopen it again from the launcher and your settings are magically back This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.-á Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless |
