This didn't seem to work for me.

While ive downloaded patches this way before, it doesnt seem to want to update the launcher at all. I keep getting a good ol fashioned "abort retry ignore" message when it goes to do it...

I ran the update and the launcher broke. After a little digging it looks like it didn't update my eve launcher shortcut on my desktop.

I went into my Eve directory and grabbed the launcher shortcut from there and now it is working just fine.

That would indicate that files are in use that are being written over at. Open your Task Manager in Windows or use "ps -aux | grep Eve" in Linux and Kill all processes like the Eve Launcher and Client.

Yea i felt dumb as i noticed i had CCP browser still open somehow... Anyways the launcher shows offline mode (got it to update). so i guess its working for now. just have to figure out how to launch eve from it

I don't recommend client modification. Not even if a GM says it is okay, or if it appears in the Support Knowledgebase.

You don't want to deal with the hassle of even a false positive detection.

Mine updated, but the launcher just says it's in 'Offline' Mode'. restarting the launcher has no effect.

I tried to run Repair - but nothing happened. It says Error.

The guide didn't help. Patch applied to right place. All instructions followed to the letter. I just get the launcher coming up saying it's in offline mode. Can't even get eve to launch by going straight to the exe in the bin folder.

So you know OP. The other fix that guy posted doesn't work for everyone.

CCP, next time you decide to update/enhance/awesomify the launcher or critical log-in ... 'features', do you think you could let us know a day or so ahead of time? (re: long skills, patch day woes, etc.. )

I can get in fine off of my old launcher shortcut. I clicked it and the new version downloaded and I was in, super.

BUT, all my settings are gone . Is there any way I can get them back without spending hours doing it one setting at a time?

Okay I used the launcher as normal earlier, was stuck in offline mode,
same with Sisi.

I used the exe launcher workaround on Sisi and it worked fine. I then
tried to use it on the regular client, and on the main login screen it
updated with a couple of errors. Now if I use the launcher OR the bypass
it takes me to a login screen with incompatible protocol listed as server
status (and I cannot login).

When I try to run repair, it fails and logs an error (I tried to find the log, but it keeps disappearing on me).

Update: After trying to run the repair several times to capture the error log, it finally appeared to run successfully.

Launched game using the ExeFile and got in okay. Thanks Donathan Slade.

OK this worked for me I launched the EVE from C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin
its the file called ExeFile I ran as admin and it WORKED yeaaaa!!!!! hope this helps you

This didn't seem to work for me.

I did all of the above and saw some one post this C:\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe this in turn work ok for me to lunch the game ok

I ran the repair tool no less than 20 times, and got errors every time, but I kept trying it, and the last time it worked.
It ran through its little thing and updated the game.
Then I did Step 2 and updated game fired up. I'm in right now.

But make sure you run both files AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Ok. I managed to run Repair for the 10th time.. it was slow and I just waited probably for a couple minutes and suddenly it start running 'normally'.

Now I can run Eve from Exefile in Bin directory... But I will not even bother to go to Launcher.

CCP - please give us advanced notice the next time you want to 'improve our game experience' by upgrading launcher. I would like to line up Battleship V or Command Ship V prior to the launcher 'upgrade' please...

My repair tool launched but nothing shows up. I see it in task manager, but there's nothing indicating it's doing anything.

This is what worked for me

Run the 'REPAIR' exe from the main CCP/Eve folder, wait for this to finish.
Go to the Bin folder and run the 'Exefile' as admin, this then allowed me to log in as usual.

Do not use the short cut or try to login via the launcher as this does not work.

This does not work for me, the eve content server is not talking to my client.....
Repairing does not work either...

keep closing and opening it. it pops up eventually...

How can you tell when the repair tool is running and when it is finished? I click it and it doesn't seem to do much, but then when I click again it says it is running and cant open two instances of the repair program.

The only time CCP seems to listen is when their players threaten the EVE wallet so maybe it's time to do that again cause we are apparently not getting the attention this issue needs...

run from bin folder, don't forget to right lick it, run as admin and do all the steps above before, it worked for me at least, nothing else did

I am now safely in Jita awaiting Deep Starwalker to give him all my ISK.

If they remove exefile starting and try to force this on us they are going to lose over 100 accounts from me alone.

I see this every time I run repair.exe as administrator which is now close to 10 times.

I have downloaded and downloaded the updates and fixes, nothing is working. My skills run out in less than 24 hours if I can't get it fixed before i go to bed I'll lost sp, how can i sort this out?

I just logged in using the new launcher without repairing...

The patch there is from CCP itself and it's the same package that comes from patch server itself. Just hang tight then, CCP will fix this eventually through they're own patch server. I just saw need to write this here so people don't need to petition everything. Contributing with my best

People having issues, find your eve dir/folder, run the eve.exe directly, bypass the sh!t launcher and login...

Also, once the new launcher works for you and you login, all settings are reset essentially. You can however run your eve.exe and have all your old settings and shortcuts as they were....

Did the repair, did the DL of the patch file, if i run from the bin exe it just loops around and around re-doing the patch. Get the offline message on every launcher screen.

Soooo .... good thing i have Borderlands 2 ... sigh.

1 repaire the game
2 open the bin folder
3 right click the eve.exe file and run as admin

Also, running the repair tool does nothing. It seems to start, but no window pops up or anything, and I have to kill the process to get it to run again.

GÇóyou klick on it and nothing will happen - but after 5-10min later the repair.exe starts

On a matter of principal I refuse to mess around with settings.

I want to just double click the Eve short cut and be taken into the game clean and simple, that is what I pay a subscription for.
