Couple quick questions. Firstly, when I add a character through API it works fine but after I close EFT and reopen it that character info isn't saved and needs to be re-added. This is a new issue for me as its always worked properly before.
Secondly, what's the rule for saving ship fittings? Sometimes fittings are saved and sometimes not and it seems generally beyond my control.
Thanks. |

Yeah, happens for me too. I think I found a setting somewhere that tells it to save it at least once per minute.. try keeping the program open for a couple minutes after you are done with it, to make sure that everything gets saved. |

I have an align time question, spotted by a fellow goon elsewhere.
I used EFT 2.14.4 and pyfa 1.1.2 to look at align time of an All-ZERO skill, no implants Charon.
EFT gives 87s, Pyfa gives 83.2s.
The formula from the wiki at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Aligning gives 79.9s, calculated in python: >>> -log(0.25)*9.6e8*0.06/1e6 79.8505552005057 Charon data from: http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/item.php?type_id=20185
I am not sure which result is correct. pyfa is closer to wiki formula than EFT, but I don't know the source of the wiki formula. Anyone care to comment on EFT's accuracy? |

Can you please make a "Prerequisites Only" character? I want to see setups exactly as they would work if you just had the prerequisite skills, for maximum accuracy. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine. |

I'm having a major discrepancy in my fittings. I imported my API code, the only skill I've worked on the last 8 days was Hull V (which will be done tomorrow morning)
EFT says I should be getting 443dps+60drone dps=503dps In game right now I'm getting 387dps+60drone dps=447dps
Also, EHP on EFT says 117,420 EHP in game says ~103,000
Cap in EFT says Stable@47% Cap in game runs out in 16:40mins
This is my fitting.

For people that don't like these forums it's really hard to figure out when you release a new version and it's a pain to update. EFT is not an opensource and I'm only developer of it so there is no need to use such services for code synchronization.
As for updates, it's more convinient for me to post them here, sorry.

First of all, let me say you are amazing and EFT is fantastic. Bravo.
Just noticed some item categories that you might want to update at some point.
The names of some rockets/missiles are still the older names. For example Phalanx instead of Trauma, Gremlin instead of Mjolnir and so forth.
Also the types of Afterburners and Microwarpdrives are a bit different now. Limited, Experimental and so forth are not on EFT yet. Watch PVP videos, post links to your PVP videos on the EVEwiki! http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Player_videos |

i did like you said and noticed that i have fitted in game a T2 Shield Boost Amplifier instead of the T1 in my eft fitting.
so everything is fine. |

Just FYI: the skill "Mechanic" was the victim of some fit of trivial renaming mania at CCP recently. It is now called "Mechanics." This doesn't appear to make any difference in EFT if you edit a character's skills manually or download from an API key, but EFT now fails to read the value for this skill in .chr files exported by EVEMon (since EVEMon uses the new name, and EFT seems to ignore the line for "Mechanics" as something it doesn't recognize). |

And this is why we at EVEMon Dev Team decided, a long time ago, to rely on skill IDs rather than names. My suggestion would be that Gripen changes the chr format to include the skill ID (the names could be maintained for readability) and parse that instead of the name. We can easily adjust the exported format on our side but would appreciate if Gripen would let us now on his intentions, before we release the upcoming 1.6.0 version, which is scheduled for mid next month. |

I did this experiment myself today, using a jita alt in a Charon and iphone stopwatch. I have confirmed EFT's results -- the wiki and pyfa are indeed in error. Thanks! |

Nice work m8, been using the program for a very long time now, im also a delphi coder, so it all impresses me to no end, how ever today i found a problem!! yes, nothing major :)
Inside EFT my dual light beam laser II reports fitting cost for power and cpu differently to in game if it would help i can go to extra effort to actually paste #'s, however i don't have it in front of me, Ive double checked everything is synced and implants etc and affecting skill levels are set correctly!
I thought i had found the perfect fit lol, sadly no..!! :( |

They match perfectly for me, must be a skill deviation or an implant or some ship secific bonus issue. |

Good day Gripen, thank you for EFT!
I am using EFT since 2007 i think and about 99% of things that did not match between my ingame values and EFT values were errors on my side - easy to be sorted out. I do really love that it has no Autoupdate and i had few problems migrating new Versions (just copy paste the content of the new archive to your old directory). Obviously my 07 fittings wont work anymore, but they would not work in EvE as well (Stealthbomber with cruises ^^). This way i can have multiple Versions running at same time, compare changes from patch to patch, really lovely.
Just as a generall idea, EFT is something that gives you an idea about how a fitting can be compared to another. I have never bothered for minimal differrence to the ingame values and i think comparing EFT to otehr outgame values is a bad idea, as EFT has proven itself to be more precice then the most none dev releases.
In the end you have to test your fitting on TQ or SISI anyways.
Again thank you. I was an EFT addict right from day one (sometimes more than i fell for EvE itself) and it gave me possibilties to try out setups that prevailed (when i set up my first nano cane right after the nano nerf, everyone was going ballistic, now look on the killboards of the past 3 years ^^ ).
Best Regards

I've used this for years, but one thing that has started to bother me recently is the EHP values.
EHP Values seem over-inflated recently compared to in-game values.
Can anyone shed light on this?

Ingame uses always worst resistances to calculate ehp (aka worst case scenario), default in EFT assumes balanced incoming dps. I need new signature. |
