I have that wininet error #127 too, running Vista.
And I held the enter button down after just tapping the enter key a few times when trying to input my character info. |

Same issue "unknown wininet error #127" - Vista x64.
However I can use my old char data folder with the new version and just update manually until its resolved. |

Using forum's is not my strong suit, but I really, really wanted to say... "Nice Job".
Following the link from the ap's "About" menu took me to the forum archives instead of the live one.
Took me 10 min to actually observe that fact embedded in a pic at the top of the archives page. (darn near hidden)
Can a new version link to the new Forums?

Ive tried running as admin, manually adding firewall rule, and all compatibility modes and still:

Is it just me or did the API section get moved? The character editor sheet only shows me two options, Skills and Implants. Som'n up with the UI or did the option get moved? |

I just downloaded the program and when trying to input my character in the import box of the character editor I get this error:
"API server have responded with the following error:
Authentication failure.
If you've just changed your API key the old one may not yet expire from the web server cache. In this case try again few minutes later."
The api that I used is currently in use by EVE MON and is working fine.
Anyone have any insight as to what's going on? |

Use the alternate mirror, EVEFiles is 200% better than the other crappy free download site.
Also, it's completly outdated now, since other changes occured on the 11/11 and the 17/11. |

It used to do quick import before but API related interface has been simplified a bit and now all API import interaction is done with it.

Using the new customisable API keys it worked at first, but stopped importing from one day to the next. First I made sure EFT is not blocked by my firewall, then I tried different keys (limited & full, no expiration), but that didn't help. Currently I update my main manually, but for a new char that learns dozens of skills a day that would be a pain.

All-V character, Abaddon ship. No implants/gang effects/etc. Only 2 mods fit: Quad Lif Fueled I Booster Rockets and Heavy Capacitor Booster II (with Cap Booster 400 loaded).
pyfa (latest winter preview) claims the following: 2m20sec cap with mwd running 10m30sec cap with mwd AND cap booster running
EFT (2.13.4) says 2m34sec with mwd running, 10m58sec with both mwd and cap booster.
Why the different result? Which is correct? |

At least EFT is consistent, EFT v2.13.5 gives the same values as its previous version, just tested it. (2m34sec with MWD running, 10m58sec with both MWD and Cap Booster.)

And it's surprising to see Pyfa authors making such assumptions about EFT code without knowing for sure, especially when their assumptions are wrong.
As to which is correct it's up to you to check in game. Just keep in mind that there are factors which are hard to account for: server node load which has been known to affect capacitor usage and staggered module activations. First is almost impossible to investigate and simulating second one would require clumsy interface with a timeline for module activation markers to allow user to specify exact moments when modules are activated.
