how unfair is that - i wouldn't like them to any better or worse than the existing ones. if they wanted to have newer, better ones, they should allow people to change. as thats complete RP bolox, it ent gonna happen, so the new types should be balanced with the old.

I'll certainly be firing up another account for these, been holding off an alt until the new bloodlines and now I'm pretty glad I did ;)

The Caldari Achura Monk is a bit ridiculous.
I don't mind if they create a class like this that is "the best" starting setup, but why make it Caldari?
Surely if they made it Minmatar or Amarr, then those respective areas of space may take the brunt of the new characters. Rather than having even more people born in Caldari space, many of whom will never ever leave.
CCP can't ever complain about areas like Caldari space being overpopulated if the Achura Monk comes in like this....

Now, while the ashura looks to be prime material for a pirate alt , I don¦t think that this will influence new players quite as much as many seem to fear. Most new players that I¦ve spoken to chose their characters based on looks and descriptions, advanced characters with specific tasks in mind being much more common with older players who already have a good feel for what they want their char to accomplish. |

Hi,
I just started this alt and was looking at going pirate with it
My attributes right now are:
Intel: 10 (trained +4) Perc: 16 (trained +1) Char: 6 Will: 10 (trained +1) Mem: 8 (trained +4)
Learning (trained +4)
Should I start over with a new bloodline char? This is my first alt, he's 3 weeks old. I need some advice now, don't know what to do anymore
Thanks

Nope, don't reroll. That's a very nice starting stats lineup. Good balance of stats, with perc being nicely higher that the others. Wish my base stats were like that..... (20 perc with clarity 5 and a +3 implant....)
The new bloodlines won't be available for ages anyway, and you'd be losing a lot of training time in waiting for them.

Hi Rodge,
That's what I wanted to know. But you say 20 Perception with clarity 5 and +3 implant. I have 16 Perception now, with only +1 trained. My base Perc attribute was 15.
That would mean 25 with Clarity max'd at lvl5 and 28 if I'd add a +3 implant. On the other hand, I won't be a clever scientist, but I don't care at all
I try to go without implants, maxing out my learning skills to start with, I guess I will get blown away quite a lot as I don't know any other Pirates/Evil Corps yet and have everything to learn
So I won't be pirating for some time until the learnings are complete
Thanks for answering Rodge

Originally by: Dae Han I am guessing that Achura=Japanese, Jin-Mei=Chinese, Khanid=Iran/Persian/Middle East. But what people/country or region of the world does the Vherokior represent?
I would imagine that we're talking Golden Horde here - catapulting a certain mr khan's extended family into the depths of space. Even if for no other reasons than that the matari are traditionally viewed as savage, and the literature tells us we've got a similar climate on Matar to that of (variably) rich fertile farmland plains and siberia, depending on where exactly on the planet you are.
Not that much of a stretch for the imagination from Mongolia I don't think. Although, I must admit, I've never been there myself.
Interesting times await... |

I can understand why they gave the Khanid some crazy high perception stats.
To attract some people to Amarr Space perhaps, its undersettled!
But WHY are the ACHURA so damn attractive. Are there not already MUCH TOO MUCH Caldari?
Doh!

i cant wait for the new bloodlines ive been wanting a 2nd character i can train better than the one i have had since july 2003 i made a lot of mistakes crosstraining in skills i didnt need because the game kept expanding and i changed directions again and again. plus i think this can close the gap between us old players and new players comming online i think its a bit unfair that new players cant compete with older players just because they happened to play the game earlier. although making just one race uber is a little shortsighted. AMARR FTW

Meh, all the crying about "uber stats" and whatnot...
the idea of what's "the best" attributes for a character changed quite a few times over the course of the game, if i remember right. Usually due to vast changes to game mechanics, introduction of new skills, new modules, changes to skill requirements and other stuff.
any min-maxer complaining now about the "uber Achura" is given to cry just as much x months down the road because their "most uberest" flavour-of-the-expansion build takes ages to train anything charisma related, and there's suddenly bunch of charisma based stuff added to the game that influences everything from agent running to PvP... >>;;

Intelligence: 8 Perception: 8 Charisma: 8 Willpower: 7 Memory: 8
That's the starting attributes for one of my alts. It'll easily pwn any Achura Monk on the med and long run, so what's with all the whining about "omgwtfnber" char?! Get a grip on yourselves and listen to j0sephine... ____________________

Intaki Artist, eh? When I was crunching stats out for every race a week or two ago (was trying to figure out initial builds for some friends who wanted to play), I came up with that one too. Found it quite pleasing, actually. I still prefer the Sebiestor Rebel, though...ah, the joys of having both 10 Intelligence and Perception while still having 6 - 7 in all your other stats.

yer i thought the Mad Monks was available tonight, thats what is listed in the patch notes. will probs be a shocking agent runner but it will kill stuff pretty well.
i agree amarr space is pretty deserted in sum parts, Tash-Murkon was always quiet when i go through there.

Stargazer = Daydreamer = Gallente != Caldari
JB
I agree. I understand why they put a social aspect for the Gallente Asian bloodlines but the Gallente are just as much scientists as they are socialites. Most of the great technologies: improved Drones, FTL Communication, etc... has come from the Gallente Federation. Most of the technological prowess and abilities of the Caldari have been acquired(from Jovian) not rightfully discovered. They shouldnt be given the title of Inventor or Stargazers.

The med and long run? Is that the magical time when having 8 base charisma "PWN"s everyone else?
The new Caldari is sick, and the new Amarr is almost sicker. And 8 base charisma? It can't even "PWN" itself.

I am planning to start EVE with one of the new bloodlines in January. I am trying to decide which one and the one I am learning toward most at the moment is a heavily perception-maxed Khanid Cyberknight.
His base attributes would be the following:
16 - Perception 8 - Willpower 5 - Memory 5 - Intelligence 5 - Charisma
As you can see it is a bit extreme. The charecter is planned to be a balanced combat charecter. He won't go far into industry or research.
The idea behind raising perception so high is that a majority of his skills use perception as their main. And quite a few others have perception as a secondary. I want a combat charecter that can learn a diverse selection of ships and weaponry.
Also, ship and weapons skills are some of the highest rank skills in the game and thus perception benefits them a bit more than other skills. Esspecially for a combat pilot.
In addition to that Navigation and Drones each have perception as a secondary. Even with the primary at 5 and secondary at 16... this can also be the equivilant of having a primary of 8 and a secondary of 10... which is a fairly balanced skill set.
Now, mechanics I likely won't need more than 3 skills from. And they are ranks 1 and 2. The big pain will be engineering and electronics which I plan to take many skills from... but the majority of those are rank 1-3 thankfully.
But before I do that I will be getting learning skills. 5 memory and 5 intelligence will make those a pain! However my solution for that is before the new bloodlines come out I will try to save up for +3 implants to mem and int. Basically giving me 8 in each (and almost doubling the learning speed). With the learning skills brought up to about +9 total... it will do a lot towards giving me an obscene amount of perception and a balanced set for the rest.
From the calculations I've done it saves a lot of time in the long run even if I stick to only one empire's ships (unless I wanted to go deep into industry or research... which I don't. Just getting a few basic skills like mining and refining will make me happy)

That 5 int is going to hurt a lot even after your training skills are finished. Take a look at the Engineering and Electronics skills, they are all things a combat pilot need and they all have int as primary attrib.

Yeah I know... its making me wince quite a bit as I think about it. I do plan to get a ton of the engineering and electronics skills. But most of the ones I want/need are rank 1-3. Far less rank than my perception skills. That part of the road will be slow but the gain in perception (due to the enormous rank of some of em) will be worth it... I hope.
I do plan to have a +3 int +3mem implant when I begin. Will probably do engineering and electronics right after I get the learning skills up quite a bit.
The theoretical 'cap' for my skills from what I understand (with +4 implants) is something like.
33 perception 24 willpower 21 for the rest.
I likely won't get up that high since I won't be using +4 implants unless jump clones work nicely and I am making lots of isk. And I doubt I will be getting the rank 5 of advanced learning skills.
In all honesty. At the moment I am torn between this build and the caldari bloodline monk build coming up. That one would be 12 perception 3 charisma and 8 for the rest. Its a lot more balanced but... dosn't seem as 'fun' to me. I am leaning toward the Amarr one (the first one I listed) but it will likely boil down which looks better when I create the charecter.

Very true. It should have been Amarr imho..
Somehow I think some dev (or maybe some more) personally like Caldari a lot.
