As a respons to a request on the game developments forum I took the time to write down the skills and stats for the new bloodlines on SiSi. Thought they might be interesting for the people here. Caldari - Achura Base Skills: Caldari Frigate, Small Hybrid Turrents, Science Base Stats: I: 8, C: 3, P: 7, M: 6, W: 6 Ancestry: Inventors - Science, Research, +4 int Monk - Navigation, Research, +2 perc, +2 will Stargazers - Engineering, Research, +1 perc, +3 mem Minmatar - Vherokior Base Skills: Minmatar Frigate, Small Projectile Turret, Industry Base Stats: I: 7, C: 8, P: 4, M: 8, W: 3 Ancestry: Drifters - Navigation, Refining, +2 int, +2 perc Mystics - Learning, Refining, +1 int, +3 will Retailers - Trade, Refining, +1 char, +3 mem Amarr - Khanid Base Skills: Amarr Frigate, Small Energy Turret, Gunnery Base Stats: I: 5, C: 5, P: 9, M: 3, W: 8 Ancestry: Cyber Knights - Small Energy Turrent, Controlled Bursts, +4 perc Unionists - Social, Controlled Bursts, +2 int, +2 perc Zelots - Leadership, Controlled Bursts, +2 mem, +2 will Gallante - Jin-Mei Base Skills: Gallante Frigate, Small Hybrid Turrent, Leadership Base Stats: I: 5, C: 7, P: 6, M: 5, W: 7 Ancestry: Sang Do Caste - Leadership, Learning, +1 char, +3 will Saan Go Caste - Social, Learning, +2 int, +2 mem Jing Ko Caste - Gunnery, Learning, +4 perc Seems to me a Caldari Achura Monk is the best ronded char you can get now. Put 2 points in mem and 1 in int and you will have. Int: 9 Char: 3 Perc: 9 Mem: 8 Will: 8 The Amarr one might be interesting for pure combat chars as well.

If I were to start a new PvP character now, that exact Achura monk would definitely be my starting setup. I wish that was how my curretn character had started out.

That Achura Monk is going to be the new Sebiestor Rebel - all-purpose awesomeness. Urge to get second account rising! That side, the Khanid Unionists have potential for a more rounded character that still has teh pwnz0r Perception, although the low Memory is going to make thrashing out the initial learning skills a miserable experience. I personally wouldn't go the Cyber Knight path simply because I hate all my int/mem support & fitting skills taking forever to train, although I suppose you could probably get away with not putting any starting points into Perception then...hrm.

Something is just plain wrong here. So 80% of Eve's new chars will be fake Caldaris? As if adding those new bloodlines isn't wrong enough from a semi-rp perspective, they're heavily imbalanced and have extremely *** names! Stargazer = Daydreamer = Gallente != Caldari Cyber Knights? Whoever came up with that? At least there was some down to earth feeling about the existing ancestries, whereas this has absolutely no class and seems to appeal more to Japanese pop culture (and no, nothing wrong with Japanese pop culture - it's just not Eve) than it seems to be based around expanding the existing backstory. Fortunately I have 2.5 years advance on the newcomers, because that Achura Monk looks to have some killer attributes. I'm well and truely dissapointed. JB

Edited by: Cadiz on 26/11/2005 01:05:10 Originally by: James Baker Stargazer = Daydreamer = Gallente != Caldari Oooor it could be stargazer = astronomer = scientist = QUITE Caldari. Stargazer can mean both daydreamer and astronomer, and frankly, the second makes a lot more sense in this case. As for Cyber Knights, perhaps there was/is a Holder warrior class within Khanid society. Would make sense, considering the supposed martial prowess of the Khanids. As Holders they'd have all sorts of demi-cybernetic implants, and as a warrior class no small number of thse would probably be dedicated to the improvement of one's capabilty in combat, so...it's probably just a matter of nomenclature more than anything. Landed Khanid nobility who serve their superiors through military service, blessed with unique & fancy implants as a mark of their station. Still, some of the potential stat setups on these new bloodlines are evil . I'm not going to deny that. And why do they even bother with more low-perc races, anyways? Even a carebear alt is going to have to do a fair degree of ship training (Gallente V for the Itty V, Mining Barge V for large barges, so on so forth)...although I suppose you could make a decent generalist out of a Vherokior with a Drifter background and 3 points into Perception off the bat if you felt so inclined. Just as long as you didn't want to train any t2 piloting skills.

omg. they are introducing an uber type (achura monk). how unfair is that - i wouldn't like them to any better or worse than the existing ones. if they wanted to have newer, better ones, they should allow people to change. as thats complete RP bolox, it ent gonna happen, so the new types should be balanced with the old.

Usually due to vast changes to game mechanics, introduction of new skills, new modules, changes to skill requirements and other stuff. any min-maxer complaining now about the "uber Achura" is given to cry just as much x months down the road because their "most uberest" flavour-of-the-expansion build takes ages to train anything charisma related, and there's suddenly bunch of charisma based stuff added to the game that influences everything from agent running to PvP... >>;;

Being one who just started playing the game about a month ago and is on his 2nd character after his first ended up with a base perc of 4, these uber new bloodlines bother the hell out of me. If I could have waited 2 more months, I would have had a character with much more balanced stats than I have now. While my stats my not be radically off from what I could have had, 3 more perc instead of will would have been a much better choice. I just wonder if a month head start is worth keeping or if, in the long run, I would be better off taking another trip to the biomass. Maybe perc will be nerfed so it's not so far and away the best skill for pvp?

Edited by: Cadiz on 27/11/2005 23:54:00 The Achura Monk is a bit ridiculous, but is it that much worse than, say, a Sebiestor Rebel setup? Easy enough to get Int 9-10, Cha 6, Per 10-11, Mem 6, and Will 7. Pretty much the same values in the two prime fields of Intelligence and Perception, and a bit more rounded Charisma to boot (useful for those leadership skills and mission runners). The more I think about it, though...now that we have the Amarr Khanid, what's the point of having Minmatar Brutors beyond their l33t sunglasses and dreadlocks?

Trust me, some things will be changed with the achuras. Ive gone through the character building process with Achuras and came started with science level V. do you really think the devs will let that happen? On a different note, i think ccp would be very very wise to do that second account special like they did last year. You get a second account for 6 months half price or something. Would be very very popular amoung older players who want to try the new races, and newer people who are wondering why the older players have 2nd accounts. I have 2 accounts personally and will probably start a 3rd when this patch hits . With one of the new bloodlines of course.

The Caldari Achura Monk is a bit ridiculous. I don't mind if they create a class like this that is "the best" starting setup, but why make it Caldari? Surely if they made it Minmatar or Amarr, then those respective areas of space may take the brunt of the new characters. Rather than having even more people born in Caldari space, many of whom will never ever leave. CCP can't ever complain about areas like Caldari space being overpopulated if the Achura Monk comes in like this.... Now, while the ashura looks to be prime material for a pirate alt , I don¦t think that this will influence new players quite as much as many seem to fear. Most new players that I¦ve spoken to chose their characters based on looks and descriptions, advanced characters with specific tasks in mind being much more common with older players who already have a good feel for what they want their char to accomplish.

Hi Rodge, That's what I wanted to know. But you say 20 Perception with clarity 5 and +3 implant. I have 16 Perception now, with only +1 trained. My base Perc attribute was 15. That would mean 25 with Clarity max'd at lvl5 and 28 if I'd add a +3 implant. On the other hand, I won't be a clever scientist, but I don't care at all I try to go without implants, maxing out my learning skills to start with, I guess I will get blown away quite a lot as I don't know any other Pirates/Evil Corps yet and have everything to learn So I won't be pirating for some time until the learnings are complete Thanks for answering Rodge

Even if for no other reasons than that the matari are traditionally viewed as savage, and the literature tells us we've got a similar climate on Matar to that of (variably) rich fertile farmland plains and siberia, depending on where exactly on the planet you are. I am planning to start EVE with one of the new bloodlines in January. I am trying to decide which one and the one I am learning toward most at the moment is a heavily perception-maxed Khanid Cyberknight. His base attributes would be the following: 16 - Perception 8 - Willpower 5 - Memory 5 - Intelligence 5 - Charisma As you can see it is a bit extreme. The charecter is planned to be a balanced combat charecter. He won't go far into industry or research. The idea behind raising perception so high is that a majority of his skills use perception as their main. And quite a few others have perception as a secondary. I want a combat charecter that can learn a diverse selection of ships and weaponry. Also, ship and weapons skills are some of the highest rank skills in the game and thus perception benefits them a bit more than other skills. Esspecially for a combat pilot. In addition to that Navigation and Drones each have perception as a secondary. Even with the primary at 5 and secondary at 16... this can also be the equivilant of having a primary of 8 and a secondary of 10... which is a fairly balanced skill set. Now, mechanics I likely won't need more than 3 skills from. And they are ranks 1 and 2. The big pain will be engineering and electronics which I plan to take many skills from... but the majority of those are rank 1-3 thankfully. But before I do that I will be getting learning skills. 5 memory and 5 intelligence will make those a pain! However my solution for that is before the new bloodlines come out I will try to save up for +3 implants to mem and int. Basically giving me 8 in each (and almost doubling the learning speed). With the learning skills brought up to about +9 total... it will do a lot towards giving me an obscene amount of perception and a balanced set for the rest. From the calculations I've done it saves a lot of time in the long run even if I stick to only one empire's ships (unless I wanted to go deep into industry or research... which I don't. Just getting a few basic skills like mining and refining will make me happy)

That 5 int is going to hurt a lot even after your training skills are finished. Take a look at the Engineering and Electronics skills, they are all things a combat pilot need and they all have int as primary attrib.

Originally by: Hoshi That 5 int is going to hurt a lot even after your training skills are finished. Take a look at the Engineering and Electronics skills, they are all things a combat pilot need and they all have int as primary attrib. Yeah I know... its making me wince quite a bit as I think about it. I do plan to get a ton of the engineering and electronics skills. But most of the ones I want/need are rank 1-3. Far less rank than my perception skills. That part of the road will be slow but the gain in perception (due to the enormous rank of some of em) will be worth it... I hope. I do plan to have a +3 int +3mem implant when I begin. Will probably do engineering and electronics right after I get the learning skills up quite a bit. The theoretical 'cap' for my skills from what I understand (with +4 implants) is something like. 33 perception 24 willpower 21 for the rest. I likely won't get up that high since I won't be using +4 implants unless jump clones work nicely and I am making lots of isk. And I doubt I will be getting the rank 5 of advanced learning skills. In all honesty. At the moment I am torn between this build and the caldari bloodline monk build coming up. That one would be 12 perception 3 charisma and 8 for the rest. Its a lot more balanced but... dosn't seem as 'fun' to me. I am leaning toward the Amarr one (the first one I listed) but it will likely boil down which looks better when I create the charecter.

Originally by: Rodge The Caldari Achura Monk is a bit ridiculous. Very true. It should have been Amarr imho.. Somehow I think some dev (or maybe some more) personally like Caldari a lot.

Damn that Achura Monk looks really cool, although instead of making it that well-rounded i'd put a point less into mem/will making them seven and more into perc/intel to make them ten if thats possible. The low charisma rocks as it would be an alt and any gang - leader skills needed would be on my main. Those really are killer stats, as has been said before the urge to open a second account is getting stronger! ~ Helios Isikari: Space Ninja Extraordinaire

Edited by: Mather Maelstrom on 02/03/2006 20:03:10 Within 3 months from now my Gallente PvP character (the charisma the scar on my character) will be overtaken by the new uber Caldari monk: "Hahahahaha I am ubel new PvP playa. I ransom you ok? Me kill you ovel and ovel if you not send me isk." There is but 1 good fix to the whole imbalance and craziness, change more skills to need charisma or even better remove charisma completely and distribute those points over other attributes. Probably just staying like this or small fix (adding more charisma to the character). Oh and yes I prefer to see Manar the way all of the sudden 4 asian races show up (now if the majority of caladri would exist of asians that would work for me). This is imo just blow to RP and the eve world. //No Pro Gallente RP, no Coreli & Cyrene anymore\\

So I take it these are more totoal starting atributes than original chars had? Or is it just the distrabution of points that makes these chars desireable?

Then I'm inclined to keep my current char, at all of 3 days old- I liked the rp details of the empire I choose, and who knows, some day I might be glad I didn't start with 3 charisma :)

As much as the Achura Monk is "omg godly" I'm frankly sick of caldari space, and I've always wanted to try an amarr. Therefore my choice is the cyber knight. I wouldnt be too worried about everyone going Achura, people dont always base their choice on the best character class, some base it on the background rp or they way the look (I picked my intaki character because she was teh hotness, plus she could minmax int/mem the best).

Well, I've got my 15 intellegent, science 5 Caldari. But I also managed gunnery 5, small energy turret 4 on the new amarr to start :). For a starting value of 303K. And also the galleante started with gunnery 5, but only small hybrid 3. Great new bloodlines, very nice starting stats.

For the amarr and gallente, I still try to figure how you managed to get the gunnery 5. I can't get it higher than 4.

Try this to recreate the extra Gunnery skill level bug for Khanid. Cyber Knights > Imperial Academy > Gunnery department then the field and specialty for both Gunnery and Small Energy Turret. Then log in with that character and check your skill sheet. Gunnery 5.

HAve a new Khanid character and can confirm your get Gunnery 5 and small laser 4 the other skils are all low but thats a pretty good skill to have for a combat character straight of the bat..... I nsaying that the next 2 months for my one will be spent doing learning skills then getting the skills needed to get good for t2 amarr frigs.

Cause something is not adding up. Bloodline + Department + Field + Specialty = Gunnery 4 None of the Khanid's Ancestries give a skill level to Gunnery. Unless it is some typo or one of the Gunnery skill choices add two to Gunnery. And keep in mind I only got it up to Gunnery 4 and still got Gunnery 5 after checking skill sheet.
